Actually it is very good place, natural, cool with a vast flora collection in a place. sadly most of the collection are not maintained. the public toilet quality is so poor and it was so difficult to find one.

Many people just come and littering, they were leaving their garbage in the vicinity. It is so pity when we have a good botanical garden with quite good collection of flora just like an abandoned puppy. and please to add more facilities or you just maintain what you have well and not like perfunctorily maintain those collection.

Everyone should know, the most iconic botanical garden in Bali is this place. Great for picnic, gathering, or holding some events! It’s better to reserve a spot when you had a big group activity!

Nice air... great escape on weekend for everyone. Huge place for gathering, team building or just sleep under the tree 😁.

We loved exploring these sprawling gardens. You can walk a long way if you want. We discovered the bamboo area which was great. Saw a few scary sculptures and also the orchid area which unfortunately weren't flowering at this time. It's worth a look and the entry fee is small. We ended with a snack from the local stalls. ATM on site too.

Pip Saltmiras (30/04/2018 04:05)
Beautiful! Such a tranquil place. There's a high ropes course for the adventurous, and cactus and orchid gardens as well.

You definitely needs car here. Or, if you want to walk around on your feet & pretend you are hiking, you'll need sport shoes & lota of water. Prepare umbrella because it can be suddenly raining upside.
Nice place for taking picture, picnic,.or playing that outdoor adventure things

Great fern garden, huge open territory to roam. Takes at least half a day to look at properly. Rose garden isn't worth looking, to be honest

Gunawati Pratiwengrum (19/03/2018 12:21)
Great place to spend the day with your friends or family, gathering or relaxing with your love ones. Wide range of plants you may study if you are interested in.

I love this place!
Tree top park is amazing place for all family to spend time.
Botanic garden is nice place just have a walk or picnic without hot beaches of Bali.

Ashley Kieran (24/02/2018 10:15)
Seemed quite run down and in need of some maintenance. One part of the road waa completely blown out which made making the loop difficult. Wandering the park was nice.... but all of the conservatories except for the cacti were decrepit and shut down. Perhaps because it was off season? We visited in Feb. But it was rather dull. A nice spot for a wall through some interesting enough foliage.

Jason & Anne Kelly (17/02/2018 04:01)
I love this place. Its beautiful. The high ropes course is near the entrance. Must do. Take a day. Bring a sleeping mat and a thermos.

Patrick Luhut (22/11/2017 13:56)
Simple beauty, colorful green.
The combination of colorful flowers and peaceful green of the trees also Beratan Lake as the backdrop is exceptional.

Recommend you take a walk further up. It will take you out of this world. The air is so pure and the surrounding somehow makes you feel so small.

Martin Konig (01/11/2017 10:41)
One of the most beautiful places in bali. Magic in the air.
The best botanic garden I've been ever.
Go if you can.

Antok Frans (23/10/2017 14:15)
...the only botanical garden in Ball, the third in Indonesia, where we can learn and love the nature, especially plants. Cool and fresh air, and to relax with family or everyone you loved....

fitria benjamin (11/10/2017 07:01)
Very cozy. Warm full hospitality from officer. The room also clean and supported by luxury furniture.

Bali Mom (16/09/2017 10:42)

Great place for relax since this place have great view. Kids are very recommended to bring here. They have several theme of gardens which will enrich our knowledge of botanical view like orchid garden, Cactus garden, aquatic garden and so on.

This place is excellent for the adventurous type. There is climbing nets, swinging from ropes, flying fox (zlp line), walking through hanging log planks etc. A place for the adrenaline addict.

Hari Anggono (09/07/2017 05:54)
Very recommended if you likes scenery and little picnic with your family. Experience its fresh air and natural chill.

Make sure bring all your picnic stuffs such as mat, meal and snack, water, and of course good camera for the memory.

Hanisha Vaswani (14/06/2017 13:33)
Surreal and beautiful place. Vast and serene, with a wide variety of plants and trees, almost like being in a forest. The orchid house is really worth a visit. Best to get there with a 4-wheeler, as 2-wheelers aren't allowed inside, and the place is a bit vast.

There was a noisy insect making a very distinctive sound, so can't call it peaceful, but it was a brilliant experience, chirruping insect and all (can't recall the insect's name in Bahasa Indonesia).

The staff is really helpful. We arrived in the second half of the day, on a 2-wheeler from Kuta with a 14-month old kid in tow, and they realised we didn't have a lot of time to manage the visit on foot, so two of the staff took us through the top spots on their 2-wheelers.

Plus, being in the hills is a great change of scene from the paddies and beaches.

Rochmad Setyadi (12/06/2017 05:54)
A mini forest with tropical flora collection; it's also a park when people can do a lot of outdoor activities. Avoid weekend if seek for some peace. It's also a good place for birding.

Desytha Kusuma (06/06/2017 11:31)
Kids can play in this wide open breathtaking area. Its so green. Suitable for outdoor gathering.
I think it needs more garbage bin.

Justin Tan (07/04/2017 14:58)
The forest here is bathed in tranquility. Cool and a total pleasure to walk around. Could use with more signs but getting slightly lost isn't all that bad as the place is spotted with various gardens and amenities

VT Ng (10/03/2017 07:38)
A really beautiful Botanic Garden, with lots of large trees and unique flowers. It's large, you'll need to go around by cars. The roads into and inside the garden are beautiful and well maintained.

Jessica Myrlinda (23/02/2017 02:40)
There's a lot of plant that didn't exist at other place. and there's so much variants of rare orchids inside. It's so green and fresh air inside. But you better use car to get in because it's so large place, you will be vert tired if going by walk 😁😁😁😁😁

M. Bayu Suwardana (03/02/2017 16:00)
The place is so calm.. It's good for relaxing ur mind.

Tonny Setiawan (28/01/2017 14:07)
Located in Bedugul area, maybe this is the largest botanic garden in Indonesia. Small ticket fees at the entrance gate.....

It's so beautiful and very tranquil. Big trees everywhere, plants everywhere, green everywhere......setting with many beautiful Balinese statues at the entrance area. You can drive a car or by foot. The air is so fresh, bit cold but very relaxing.....

Somewhere they have cactus garden in the glass house with water garden side by side. On the holiday this place will be very crowded with locals and tourist, but it's very quiet and lonely on the ordinary day

Robert Speirs (29/12/2016 05:37)
The Botanical Gardens is a nice place to visit in the morning while the sun is up. They have a variety of plants and trees and different zones. Recently there have been landslides and after talking to the staff, they said the lack of maintenance was because they were concentrating on cleaning up the rubble. Nevertheless, if you're there, don't drive but walk. It's a nicer experience.

Monica Octaviani (23/12/2016 11:17)
Nice picnic place for family. Cheap entrance. Unfortunately the plants aren't so well treated.

David Pinto (05/10/2016 14:42)
Very pretty and well kept botanic garden. Has some examples ou the plant species we can find on the island, has some beautiful landscapes you can view and also has some incredibly big and unusual trees as well as incredible sculptures. It seems well kept too.

pohon bumi (14/09/2016 12:47)
Large botanical garden in the mountain slope, & interesting Balinese temple, trekking into the woods.

One of the largest in the country, & in a mountain slope makes it a nice place to have slow walk enjoying the scenery & cool breeze. An impressive old gapura marks the entrance to the huge garden. The first spot is rose garden, no special variety of roses in sight, just as if all roses are red.
A statue depicting a scene from Ramayana epic is at the junction of the main road. We walked further & arrived at an even taller & bigger statue, depicting the war between Kumbakarna & Hanoman's army. An interesting choice as Kumbakarna was the brother of Ravana, a symbol of evil workings in the world, raging into the war against King Rama. He was defeated but not seen as evil, bc as a true warrior giving his total dedication to his king, Ravana, as his pure bhakti yoga which eventually cost him his life. The statue was large & details, with the mountain as the background, covered with mists, this is an object for taking photos.
House of cactus is a glasshouse, displaying rare flowering cactus & giant desert thorny plants. Next to it is water plants. A mysterious round gate covered by mists are the entrance to the orchid garden, which features many kinds of orchids, a waterfall & other epiphytes. A stone gate covered with moss is the ferns garden, really big & it takes time to explore the valley of ferns. A large statue that looks like a triceratops to trick kids to enter. Going further is medicinal herbs garden, which features Ayurvedic plants. Then we arrived at an opening at the downslope looking into the blue Lake. This is like the reward of the ascending walk. The lake is vast & blue. Houses by the lake & pine trees are seen from afar, this far. Almost thinking that it is so beautiful & that place is where happiness is, only to remember that I stayed there & from there I walked here to the mountain. The truth that life is journey & not a destination is sometimes so elusive & we keep on forgetting it, & looking for the destination, thinking that is where to find happiness.
Continue the walk, the paved road are descending quickly into a wood. Suddenly I was in another realm, in different place, almost timeless, as the tall trees are so dense, we cannot see beyond the layers of trees. It was so absent of other human voices. I heard the sound of the wind blowing the leaves. Moving the trees. Saw movement under the bushes. Creeks are heard but nowhere to be seen. It was so quiet. We are in the forest. Into the woods.
We saw a cabin in the woods, but it was locked, & look like has been a ruin for years. The trees are getting taller & kept us away from the sunlight. It was dark & humid. It is so thrilling & strange to walk in the woods. Looking up & see the slopes of the mountain covered by trees, & the mountaintop was covered by mists. It felt different. The mountain is too close. We kept on walking, passing a bridge & saw a dry river. Then the road started to ascend, then we return to the lake view spots. The mountain pass turned out to be an O shape.
It was quite & we can hear the sound of the trees moved by the wind. A bizarre uprooted tall tree with roots in an almost perfect rectangle shape. I wonder how this could happen, & why. We leave the strange uprooted tree place immediately. There was a sign to Bang Terate temple on an elevated ground. Another temple, a mix of Hindu & Chinese temple, legend says that one daughter of a priest married to a Chinese merchant, & they made a rather odd combination of this two beliefs.
We left the strange hindu + Chinese temple, & arrive at a large garden of ritual plants. A huge black building like a stupa is a new building, the purpose was not clear, & it was empty. The garden has ponds & multiple bridges. All made by dark black stones. Then we leave & took pictures at the large gapura.
The mists have started to go down & the place gets dark. We go back to Merta Sari market, & enjoy the afternoon & the rest of the day at an art café, Eat Drink Love café.

A huge tropical garden. If you love nature, you'll love it here, but if you don't, don't bother go here.
Lots of varieties of plants, trees, and some flowers. You can take loads of beautiful pictures here. Fresh air, and often a rain shower.
If you go by car, you can explore with your car, but if you go by motorbike, you have to walk to explore, which takes hours of walk. You'll need a massage after LOL.
It's good for family weekend getaway. There is a campground too, but not sure how to get the permit.
Entry ticket is cheap, so it worth the money you spent. A car with 3 passengers (that's us) pay IDR 28.5K at the entrance gate.

Big botanical garden. There's a spot where we can view Lake Beratan from above. Various plants. Cactus collection is not special. Cool fresh air and wilder ambience than the one in Bogor. I hope people visiting there will be more conscious about littering. The Tree Top Adventure is inside the Botanical Garden. Very fun activities.

Doni Purnama (31/05/2016 18:25)
The bigest park in Bali with many kind of plants collection with cool weather. That make relaxing feel.

So big garden. But to far. Me and my boyfriend use motorcycle from kuta, and it's like amazing trip. Always use Google maps for directions. 😊😊😊

Buat ngirup udara bebas polusi, di sini tempatnya. Juga cocok untuk kardio. Bakar karbo. Jalan kaki keliling sambil ngunyah stoberi atau anggur lokal. Sekilo anggur ludes. Sekotak stroberi amblas. Kalori mungkin terbang tapi perut membuncit penuh. Itu saya.

Dwi Martha (12/03/2016 07:15)
Cool place, fresh air and green view. Best place for relax with family, friends and take picture for prewedding.
