Not really worth going. have to pay Rp. 20.000 for local and Rp. 30.000 for tourist. Could make it better if they put a line or number so people can take turn taking photo, instead of cutting everyone else and make an ugly background.
But it was a good picture (if noone is photobombing)

Nice course in the mountains. Fairway and greens are in a good condition, but clubhouse, paths, toilettes etc. are very poor - need to be repaired. Caddies are polite but don‘t speak English well / no english (words the know: yards, left, right, up, down)
Play it once but do not stay here for golf holidays.

Very beautiful and clean. Nice music, fast WiFi and three views are amazing. Definitely worth seeing and practicing a bit of golf. Practice is cheap, but the full game is expensive.

Probably the most beautiful couse I have ever seen location and gardenwise. The whole resort needs a lot of TLC though...

Love Handara, great course great location. Some improvements to the clubhouse area which is very user friendly now. The course is lacking a bit of love and care and the greens are a bit rough compared to when i was a member a few years back. Still love it up there though in saying that.

Fantastic course. Excellent layout and design.. a real players course BUT... its getting very old.. run down and neglected. Course is tough.. all old buffalo grass which is typically Asian carp but due to weather and age it's all they have.. but still good. Fairways ok.. rough average but you shouldn't be in the rough anyway.. greens ok.. average at best. Cart paths are a rally track. Caddies are old school. If you want a good one need 20 plus years experience.. they'll know every blade of grass. They expect a large tip as they only average 4-6 caddying jobs a month atm.. not their fault.. poor management as usual.. but excellent and beautiful and picturesque scenery.. take a camera. Put aside the poor conditions and you'll enjoy it. *(if the reviewers aren't proper golfers and give bad reviews dont trust them) THIS IS A BETTER COURSE THAN NEW KUTA X 10!!!! only for the fact of the distance and traffic and course conditions you would go to New Kuta for convenience. Scenic drive but traffic horrendous. 2.5hrs from Kuta beach. Will be painful but I recommend.. leaving at 6am to beat traffic.. then you'll get there early enough to play early.. beat slow local players and only put up with 1 long drive back instead of long drives both ways.
Staff again were useless at bookings . We had a booking. We got free golf.. paid for cart and caddy- reasonable.. spoke with the guy in person we booked with and said he knew nothing about it. Finally proved the details . He acted as if nothing happened and we were on our way.. totally useless these Asian (golf especially) organizations..caddies and Marshall's were helpful. As usual WAY OVER PRICED hence why no players.. run down and I assume going broke. Make fees $50 with a cart and place will be busy again. 100 players at $50 is better than 10 players at $150...
Place was run down.. deserted and disappointing but as a golfer .. was enjoyable to play . Worth going for the experience and views. Just enjoy the golf and forget everything else. If the course was in Bali National condition it would be 5 stars.

It has maybe become the must do Instagram photo, but I found it little overrated. I would not make a separate trip just for this gate from far away. If you are in the area or do other sights nearby, then go.
Also note that just to take a photo you need to pay 30 000 IDR per person. And there are other people so you will have to queue.
Monica Lia (13/02/2018 22:04)
It's a great place to take a picture. But right now, you need to be in queue first and then you have to take your picture quickly because a lot of people waiting for you. I find it little bit uncomfortable

The course is now not fit to play. The course maintainance is minimal i would guess. I am a 10 hcper.
I had 3 new balls at the last hole. Upon checking,For some unknown reasos these balls are missing. My caddie was a person named Aba.
Will not play again at Handara until a dramatic improvements has been done.

i was able to stay here with my friend sometime in August 2013. the place was a paradise for us because we both love nature and the room rate was very affordable. i highly recommend to book your stay on a fullmoon. it will turn your night perfectly romantic. we would love to visit this place again. for a nature lover and golfer who are not so particular with luxurious facilities, this place is an excellent choice. for the future guests, go there for golf and for relaxation from nature’s beauty. if you expect a 5star accommodation and facilities, then go for the high-end and modern hotels.

Come early morning to get the best photo shoot at their gate. You will not regret. Don't forget bring jacket as it would be very cold out there

Played on the 17 October, very bad experience. Golf buggy broken down twice during the game, had to push the buggy. change a new one and it died on the 16 hole. Course not well maintain, lots of hole on the green. Caddy are very chatty and trying to tell you how to play.. quite distracting!! their knowledge and service are so so, at the end of the day, we were forced to tip each IDR.150.000. I dont mind to tip if I am happy with the service and general experience, but don't like to be forced to tip for lousy service. I told the golf reception about the incident of the buggy, she just sat there and said oh, I am sorry but don't really meant it or try to find out why and how.
We brought along our clothing to shower, no staff at the shower room, all toilet at the ladies run out of toilet roll, the shower room smell musky and the locker smell moldy. My husband and I decided to go back to hotel for shower due to the place is not welcoming at all..
We heard about the course from a friend who used to played there 20 years ago.. but it is getting old and run down and service is really not up to standard compare to other golf courses we have been to in Bali. its a shame..

We booked online and paid for our room before we checked in. Our arrival was not warmly greeted. Instead, the check in counter employee named Gedih Rasayana (last name may be misspelled) said we didn't have a reservation. He demanded to see our email confirmation and asked where we booked. I told him we booked through their website and already paid for the room. Again, he wanted to see proof. Which was fine, but a nice ‘hello and welcome,’ to start the conversation would have been a much friendlier encounter instead of the attitude we received.
After he saw that we had booked and paid through an email confirmation that we pulled up on our phone, he told us to wait, and called in for a welcome drink (coffee, tea or orange juice.) I was visibly unpleased. We had just driven for more than an our on our mopeds with our heavy bags and I was ready to unwind in a relaxing environment. For what we paid for, (1,000,000 rp a night,) we have stayed in much, much better rooms in Ubud, Sukawati, Amed and Gitgit for half the price.
Lobby is beautiful. Large open windows look down across the golf course and you can see Lake Buyan and Beratan through the gorgeous tall trees. The restaurant serves good food, but you can tell they have made cuts to their menu based off how many people actually visit. I wanted the gadogado, but they didn't have tofu or beans. Bacon is beef bacon.
For breakfast, we pre-paid 100,000 rp. I was expecting some sort of buffet, but our breakfast selection was pretty limited. I chose Bubur Ayam (chicken porridge) that was 75,000 rp on the menu, and my husband ordered an extra French toast, but we weren't given any discounts on the French toast, even though my meal was less than what we had originally paid for. Not that I care about 25,000 rp, but it is the principal. You have to ask for the orange juice included in the breakfast description, or they won’t give you the orange juice.
No fresh brewed coffee - they only serve instant coffee.
A very nice man took us on a golf cart to our room and helped us with our bags.
When we ordered a hair dryer, it arrived in 1 minute. Impressive. All the employees except for the check-in counter man were super friendly.
The room we were given looked run down. The fan in the bathroom made a high pitched noise when turned on. The description said there would be a minibar in the fridge. We did get a fridge but it wasn’t stocked, and had stains. The rim of the toilet bowl had stains, too. Thank you for having hot water in the shower.
The whole resort has a ‘used to be’ vibe to it. It probably used to be a wonderful place to stay at, and is probably a good place for golf. But for the money the charge you and for what you get, you are better off going some place else. More tourists come to visit the temple gates leading into the property. The front gate is a tourist attraction. Every hour, you’ll see people taking photos outside the gates. But few actually come to stay at the resort.

Nice place. Entrance is a popular photo spot. Unique experience of golfing in a crater. Buildings look a bit dated but still do the job.

Mark In Bali (27/09/2016 00:45)
The actual clubhouse and facilities are a bit old and run down but the course is fabulous and the temperature in Bedugal is a lot cooler that Kuta in the south. Definitely worth a visit if you like golf.

Nice, quiet place for fresh air, with green surrounding. The place looks a bit old and haunting, but it's great for groups.

Ravintola oli iso. Ruoka hyvää, mutta normaalia kalliimpaa. Ympäristö oli siisti ja palvelu hyvää.

Beautiful natural surroundings. Great for a round of golf or just a stroll in nature. Actual lodging tends to be quite basic except for one small wing that has been newly renovated.

It has best restaurant in Bedugul.
