Interesting place to learn more about history and why Kudus moniker is Kota Kretek. It tells about the life and history of Nitisemito, founder of kretek cigarette in Indonesia. There was a guide but only speak Indonesian.
The museum hall is not too big, but the outdoor yard is huge, they also have mini theater building. Beside museum, there are other children attraction such as swimming pool, trampoline, train, etc. Operation hours 09.00 - 16.00. Entrance fee is very cheap Rp 2.000,- I wonder how did they can have resource for maintaining the collection 🤔

You can learn the history of "kretek" (Indonesian cigarettes) here. But I don't know why this place is so quiet. Nobody visit this museum except me and my friend. There's no public transportation to reach this place.

This is a fascinating museum focused on "kretek" the traditional clove cigarette which is the backbone of Kudus' economy - however the museum was not well-maintained which is too bad. There is a gorgeous traditional "Kudus house" with the world-famous Jepara carving in its front yard - a curious yet great addition to the collection.
