I was on a school trip, not bad, activities are really fun, food's decent, but rooms aren't good if you're picky. You can actually choose to go in the crappy ones(only for school trips though) or the ones with A/C and nice stuff. so eh

try the damn butter
Edit: The owner is lying about the review, I have went there before and the butter was absolutely disgusting and the food was decent but the toilet was also GROSS! Some of the rooms were better but in the dorm rooms it is ABSOLUTELY DISGUSTING the owner is trying to disprove every negative comment here.

What a special place LooLa is! My husband and I stayed there recently for 4 nights and loved every minute. Two nights we even had the entire place to ourselves!
Organizing the trip was a breeze with lots of help in planning and information from Darren at the Singapore office. We had a lot of questions and he had all the answers.
From the moment we arrived at the ferry terminal on Bintan Island and met Jaya, LooLa’s sweet welcoming manager, to the moment that Topan, a super fun activity leader turned van driver, dropped us back off at the ferry terminal, we had a marvelous time.
Accommodation
We stayed in the sea chalet over the water. They are rustic, lovely and complete with mosquito-netted bed and shower for room temperature water for cooling off. Our chalet’s covered porch looked out onto the water where the moon rose every night. We sat and watched the sea for hours.
Food
Everything we ate was absurdly good! It seems like we were in someone’s home, eating traditionally spiced and flavored and cooked Indonesian delights. Dinner at the bonfire was especially memorable with a huge mud crab and squid grilled in coconut leaves! Oh, and fresh made lemon iced tea was so yummy and refreshing.
Staff
The staff at LooLa absolutely make the place and the experience! They are kind, patient, wonderful souls. Elsa warmly welcomed us to the resort, showed us our room, and led us through the day’s activities. She was a joy! Agus brought us all of our delicious meals with a lovely smile and happy attitude. He even let my husband borrow a pair of his sunglasses for our stay! Elyas took amazing care of us and quickly figured out that we enjoy kayaking and invited us out on a night kayak under the full moon - it was magical. He’s worked there since there resort opened up and he has such a beautiful, endearing soul. Topan took us out on the boom net (such a fun activity), and even though he captain of the boat was a little late in getting to the dock, Topan handled it like a professional, and ended up taking us to another beach to hang out for a while and see a part of Bintan life that we wouldn’t have seen otherwise. He’s awesome with kids and seems to truly love his job. He answers my many, many questions about life on Bintan and took some great photos of my husband and I. These people will remain in our hearts and memories until we get to go back to LooLa someday!

Loola is an amazing resort! It's beautiful and well designed. We came here with a student group and it was a perfect location to learn and play. The resort also uses many environmentally friendly and sustainable practices and introduces their findings to the world. Most of the staff are local and thus support their local communities.
The food was delicious and fresh! I especially loved the pancakes, the fish and the tempeh! Amazing! I can't wait to go back!!!

Excellent managed Eco Resort. The staff is super friendly and helpful. It's amazing to see how some of the rooms are being cooled down - using an ice block system recharged during the day by the sun and keeping the room cold at night. Really great! I'll come back

Gosh dont know where to start, Loola really does offer all manners of experience if you are one for adventure - dont expect to sit around for too long. With its many facilities such as a adventure playground, volleyball courts, basketball court, football pitch - pick your game and have fun!! In terms of the organised activities, again this is endless - for those who doesnt mind heights and a challenge you can choose from Rock Climbing with 3 different types of walls, coconut tree climbing - this you can choose how difficult depending on the type of tree. Then there is the sky walk which is for those who loves can balance and not afraid of falling. Last but not least the flying fox (zip line) from the top of the climbing wall into the water pool - super fun!! As for water adventures there were a variety again, from sea marine walks to get more close and personal with the life around the island, kayaking from shore to the mangroves half way out to sea. The most surprising however was the boom netting wher we had no clue what to expect and was thoroughly thrilled. Who would have thought jumping into a fishing net from a boat and being dragged around like a fish was so much fun!! For the less adventurous there are tours you can take off the resort to the fishing village, or make a pizza which is cooked in their outdoor pizza oven.
With this all said we had non-stop fun at Loola, for an all inclusive resort it is done well. We especially love the food which is fresh home cooked food.
This place is a must as mentioned for any young/old/couples/families adventurer, just remember to bring alot of sporty attire and be ready for action. It is must for water shoes, hats, rash guard, sunglasses/goggles, own toiletries (hotel sized), mosquito sprays, suncream. Also if you are in chalet expect to shower in cold water with no air con, we found this refreshing and fun as there wonderful sea breeze to keep you cool.
Last and not least, Loola is only as amazing as the people. Safety is key here with good information, guidelines and explanation prior to anything you do. Every staff is warm and welcoming, not to mention very patient when some of us have difficulties with heights!! We will definitely go back for more FUN!!

What a beautiful location! We spent three days relaxing in our bungalow enjoying the scenery, and doing a bit of kayaking.
The staff were always there to help with whatever we needed. Everything was taken care of from the moment we arrived to our departure.
The last day we saw the most impressive torrential downpour one can imagine. We enjoyed watching the rains from our little balcony and when it was time to leave the staff brought us an umbrella.
What a great way to spend a few days, it was quiet, relaxed and eco-friendly!

What a beautiful, fun and relaxed place. The staff is very friendly, always up for a chat and will do whatever is possible to help out a traveller.
Tons of activities with experienced guides, whether it is on the water, high up in the trees or at the climbing wall. Or you just play some basketball, football, volleyball and whatnot...
Accommodation for families and/or couples is lovely, shows the good taste of the owners and is very clean.
All this is topped up by an eco-friendly and socially sustainable concept.
Definitely recommend!

What a great place!!! We spent 3 days with a large group of friends (from 2y to 45y) all of us had a great fun !
We loved all the activities (football, basket, kayak, wall climbing, jumps from boat, coconut climbing, zip line, best massage ever... And more)
The staff is amazing: from the agent who helped us organizing the trip, to the instructors, staff on site and village manager)
The villas (4 rooms each) are beautiful and really comfortable
The location is so peaceful, we disconnected totally from our busy lifes.
VIP service from start to the end!!!
Not to mention Loola's mission: eco friendly, help local community: we were proud to support that!
I can only recommend that wonderful place!!!

Our family had a great time at LooLa, not only did the kids have a fab time with all the activities - highropes, rock climbing, kayaking, low tide beach exploration etc, we were also inspired by all the great environmental sustainability experimentation going on. Thanks to the great team at LooLa we were very well fed, watered and looked after - Elyas, Elsa, Siti, Heri and Agus. Special thanks to Dul for sorting out my urgent skype call!

The place was very nice every time I was there. Even if you don’t go there with friend just with family the staff will be nice to you and will play football on occasions if they don’t have to work, but that is not the only time they are nice if you do activity’s they are there and help you with your safety and they know what they are doing. Like I said they look after your safety and it is also very great because you have then a safer feeling when doing the exercises. Also the food was way better than I had expected. This is one of the best resorts I have been to and it deserves more attention.
