Very nice place. If you wantto just relax and be in a private island then this place is perfect. Very quite and private. You can see a lot of fish if you go snorkeling. And if you are a lucky you can see baby sharks. They also served good foodand you can chosea lot of different recipes. The room is bigang beautiful. And they have an outdoor toilet..

On the last day an intern (unpaid worker from town) broke my luggage tossing it into cart. They could not find the broken off pieces (not repairable) Staff took no responsibility. Left with a feeling that they just don't care. I expect more from a place where I spent almost $1200 for 3 days. This was a splurge for my 60th birthday.
Also note that the restaurant was inconsistent. First day and a half the meals were good, but the last day and a half food was way to salty and not very good.
Since there are no other options to eat on the island this is important. Same item on menu was very different on different days. They probably have too many cuisines (Indian, american, indonesian, italian) and they would be better off doing a few well rather then trying to be all things to all people.
Also note that they add 3% for credit card.
On the positive there is very nice shallow water snorkeling on the island.

Amazing beaches and snorkeling from them, rooms are very nice and staff are helpful, especially in organising trips. However there is a language barrier and a few of the group I was traveling with fell ill while staying here which was perhaps as a result of the food but not entirely sure as the food was on the whole very good.

Booked 4 nights at this place on a whim and am very glad that I did! This place was absolutely wonderful - the island, accommodations, staff, and diving operation were all excellent.
We were met at the Komodo Airport by a member of the Angel Island team, and were taken to the harbor via taxi. The island is just a 15-20 min boat ride from Labuan Bajo - once you're on the island, however, you feel like you're in the middle of Komodo NP.
The island is very nice - two private beaches, a nice restaurant area, a yoga chalet/library, and ~10 cottages. The house reef is excellent for snorkeling - during a 20 minute snorkel, we saw baby blacktips, titan triggerfish, juvenile sweetlips, and lots of other beautiful creatures.
Each cottage is well hidden by trees, so you have a strong sense of privacy. Our cottage had excellent AC, a beautifully built bathroom with hot shower, a stocked mini fridge, and many other nice amenities.
The staff here is exceptional - Frido, Rian, Fian, Sian, and Denny were all extremely friendly and helpful. They learned our names immediately and were incredibly nice, always making conversation and going out of their way to help us.
The restaurant is decent - they have a large menu and great selection of drinks. I mostly ate Indian food, so I can't speak to the other dishes they offered, but all of my meals were pretty good. They also light mosquito coils under each table, so bugs were never a problem while dining.
What really surprised me, however, was the diving operation! Angel Island has one of the nicest dive boats I've ever encountered - huge deck space, freshwater shower, spacious bathroom, and tea/coffee on demand. The owner, Cate (or Kate, sorry!) was an excellent dive guide - she gave thorough briefings, kept things fun, and was amazing at finding beautiful creatures for us to look at. Like all of her staff, she was very friendly and helpful.
There are only two negatives that I can think of. One, the wifi didn't work 90% of the time. And two, we didn't see Bertie!!
Overall, I would highly recommend that you visit Angel island Resort! I would also suggest that you book a diving package - it is definitely worth it. Can't wait to come back!

A resort near the city, but for me, it doesn't like resort at all.

Accommodation very good, cleaned to a high standard. Food exceptional and lots of it. Staff very polite and helpful. Diving picturesque and we saw a Dugong for the first time. Snorkeling also interesting and water nice and warm. So good we came back for a second time in November 2016.

It's a very pleasant place to stay. Great staff, nice rooms, fantastic location, low profile buildings. Beaches are clean. However, I have reduced stars for several small reasons and because I believe it is over priced.
One main complaint is it is not clear who is in charge. The owner was there some days and seemed very nice. There doesn't seem to be a manager. Consequently it can be difficult. For example while I was there the dive master was leaving. He had no idea who was replacing him for our remaining dives and there's no one to ask. In the end, we only found out when we boarded the boat and then it was such chaos we left an hour late. Would not have taken much for the owner to drop in and give us some information the day before
The resort is well located fur labuan bajo but as a result still far from dive sites (about 1.5 hrs)
The food menu is ok but the food is not great. Many indonesian dishes like rendang are not authentic. The menu is overlong (95 main courses alone). Consequently, little is likely prepared fresh and yet the service is extremely slow - expect a wait of 45 mins plus. A coffee on the beach could take 15 minutes - quicker to walk to your room and make it yourself. On the plus side it's all inclusive, so you eat as much as you like.
They did fogging (insect spraying heavy duty outdoors) while I was there, at 5pm one afternoon without any warning. It was a brutal experience to be on the beach and caught in the fog, a choking, toxic cloud. In many places, they do this late at night such as to minimise contact with people.
It's marketed as an eco resort but there are inconsistencies with this. For example, they use pod style coffee machine with much plastic waste. Also, the rooms are designed to be used with AC, so no way to keep windows open and no mosquito net. Staff turn on the AC when they clean the room in the morning and it's on all day even if you're out - A massive waste of energy.
Summary: a nice place which would earn 4 or 5 stars if they either address the minor issues or reduce the price. A high price suggests high standards and Angel Island Eco resort doesn't quite get there.

Impresionante Resort con sólo 10 habitaciones. Playa privada con coral en la que se puede hacer snorkel. Especialmente recomendado para gente que quiera hacer buceo o cursos de buceo. Pensión completa a la carta con muy buenas calidades
