Large parking areas, the condition of the road to Pasar Serikin are much better compared to the last time I've been there which is in 2007.

Place to get local item. But, the price seem like a bit higher.. If u area from Semenanjung, u will realize the price is not worth it except for thing u can't get at your place. Hot. Better come very early morning. Never forget your shades, hat & umbrella.

Shopping place at Malaysia-Indonesia border areas where cheapest goods are sold here. But if you concern with high-quality goods, this is not that place. Here, you can bargain at the lowest price.

Most of the time, the weather is hot here. Don't forget to bring umbrella or wear hats and shades.

Rare goods also sold here!

Sarawak Serikin Market (must go if you are visiting Kuching Sarawak)

Serikin Market is one of the shopping areas located at the border of Malaysia & Indonesia.

If you dont know the road can Waze or Google Map (Serikin, Kampung Serikin, Serikin Bau Sarawak)

Located 80km from Kuching city and an hour's journey by car.

The market is open only on the weekend Saturday & Sunday.

Operates as early as 6am after dawn until 7pm.

Car parking is available at Rm3-rm5 a car

Later you will walk along the road distance within 2km-3km.

Bring an umbrella for the 10 o'clock in the morning until the evenings will be hot!

A variety of attractive items are sold at cheap and affordable prices.

Bargaining skills are great for use here (please go survey all places so then you can compare the prices😂)

If you do not want to buy, please refuse. Smile and passed away slowly.

Please be careful with your stuff, there are cases of pick pocket here.

Dining outlets around here, toyyiban and affordable prices. Just get to know which one.

Choose a food store near the bridge (market entrance)

There is a public toilet fee of 50sen for entry

The Serikin market is still in Malaysia, do not worry if the passport is forgotten at the hotel or at the homestay.

People are friendly. Went there few days ago with my mates, and the experiences are fun!
Most items on sale are rattan household furniture, clothing, souvenirs and food. Probably a shopping haven for ladies and mothers who do not care about the heat.
Kindly beware of pick-pockets, parking spots and hot blazing sun. For ladies, remember to stay alert for your bags and belongings, because pick-pockets are around. About the parking spots, as long as you pay the parking fee issued by some kids nearby, you should be OK. It is very wise to slap on plenty of sunblock and bring umbrellas and hats along for the heat at the borders are quite unbearable around afternoon.
Hygiene, not in the list. I do not think it can ever be rated.
Overall, even though the heat is unbearable, the visit was quite nice, although I did not buy anything.

This is where u can find Indonesian products @ cheap but OK products from food to apparels where u can find indigenous design materials. Fakes branded products @bargaining price. Worth going as may not find it anywhere or if u may find them in kuching city, price may differ

belinda lu (28/06/2016 06:33)
Many things to shop around such as curtains, shirts and handicrafts. When you reach there you would have to pay parking fee amounting to rm2 for private parking. Every shop offer quite similar products and please bargain for better price.

A huge weekend market. Make sure you arrive by 9am otherwise you'll be stuck in traffic waiting in line for parking.

There is only one way in & out, so be warned!

Lots of clothing stalls, fruits, dried condiments & hand woven mats & furniture for sale. Great place if you are looking for daily things!
