Waited for almost an hour for this.

I must say the noodles have a great texture to it, really nice to bite into. There is also a hint of vinegar in the noodles which gives it a slight sour taste.

The soup with pork meat and innards was also good. I'm not a fan of pork innards, put dipping the innards into black vinegar provided coupled with the noodles gives a good taste combination.

First Kolo Mee I've ever tasted, back when this place was operating in Carpenter Street, more than 3 decades ago. Taste did not disappoint despite all the rose tinting on my glasses. A lot more expensive than I remember it to be, but arguably worth every sen. This place is the benchmark for old-school, Kuching-style Kolo Mee. Clean environment.

One of the best noodle in town, have been eating with them since in the 80's at their original shop in Carpenter Street before they moved here.

Highly recommend the noodle and pork parts soup. The noodle has a hint of vinegar which is very appetizing and the soup is not too salty, well balance I would say.

Some may find the soup and noodle too bland, personal preference I guess. Anyway this shop is quite warm inside, so prepare to sweat while waiting for you food.

Last advice, wait to be seated and wait for them to take your order. Queuing to be seated can take a while.

Enjoy!

it's too big portion for me..1 set actually can share by 2 person..im having "mee babi soup"

Christine Choo (26/04/2018 05:39)
If u willing to wait and have patient then this will be a good place to wait at least 1 hour plus for the food. Overrated

A very well known local food store serving nice kolo mee if you have time to spent I really recommend this place some may like it some may not but it's suit me

You will either love it or hate it. I love their black vinegar noodles. Only go if you are willing to wait. From queuing to actually eating may take you 30 minutes to an hour or more. Mentally prepare yourself for the wait and you will be rewarded with their lovingly prepared noodles and soups.

Mee is great. Pour soup is awesome. Just the long wait of 1.5 hours to get table and food to come is hard to make.

Opened early in the morning, but start serve the noodle from 9. Have to wait +- 1 hour. The taste of the noodle just so so. He put vinegar in. The best is the pork soup cause the ingredient and the meat inside is perfect. Time of cooking is exact. Worth to try n happy waiting.

Shardhana Morgan (26/12/2017 09:39)
The wait is long and they only serve one type of noodles. However there is a reason why this place tends to get very busy - the noodles are tasty! One serving consists of a bowl of noodles and a bowl of steaming hot soup with pork inerts (watch of for the pork tongue though, not for the faint hearted 😝). If you're on a holiday, come early and aim for brunch because by lunchtime you might not get a seat.

The best spot for Kolo mees. However, patience must be needed in order to savour it's taste. :)

Jackson Sim (26/11/2017 12:08)
Not exactly my favourite place for a bowl of kolo mee but hey, it is definitely worth a try if you don’t mind the long waiting time.

Joe Costin (12/10/2017 10:19)
Awesome noodles. I had the set with mee kosong and soup. The soup was quite subtly flavoured but nice, but the star of the show was the noodles. Full of flavour.

Used to be located at carpenter street. Now new location at padungan street. Cosy and clean. Just done breakfast with guest from Seremban...Negri sembilan. It was quite early today...normally has to wait due to long que..

My favorite...LOVE, must wait. As waiting 7 fullmoon

Robert Newly (27/08/2017 10:22)
The broth had too much salted/ preserved vegetable added, over powering the good taste of the broth

Good News for noodle(Kolo Mee category) lovers, this is a very popular Coffee Shop known for it's Noodles as according to the shop's name. The cooks have spent several decades of cooking delicious noodles and still maintain the amount of customers per day. During lunch hours, the place is packed with customers and food will normally served between and hour or two. Patience and manners is its' golden rule expected from you only as the waiters and cooks are particular on how patient and moral you are. It is indeed worth the wait in gold for a taste of heavenly noodles!

Nice place with nice food. Noodle taste real good.

Das Sim (10/06/2017 06:49)
Excellent noodles house in Kuching, one can select different condiments for the noodle, with or without offal.Very flavoursome vineger noodle cooked with lard

Swee Kee Chew (21/05/2017 10:48)
Overrated "Old Label" Noodle coffee shop that offers mixed pork offals noodle. If you can wait a minimum of 1 hour for your food to arrive, this might be the noodle worth waiting for.

Shiong Yeow (05/05/2017 05:05)
Noodles are well made n cooked. The broth is clear n full of flavour. A classic case of simple food made perfectly!

S Li (16/04/2017 09:35)
Noodles were fine. The soup broth is an acquired taste. I can't say it's my favourite or a place that I would frequent again. The pork and fish ball soup was full of offal like liver, intestines, kidneys and other parts. Sorry, not my cup of tea. For some reason, it has a lot of fame with some bloggers, but I wouldn't bother visiting this place. There are better places at better prices, IMO.

Kiang Chiok Sim (30/03/2017 10:45)
Noodle and Soup the best in town. Add vinegar to the noodle ,select the ingredients of the soup for the best lunch, even though u have to wait a bit due to the popularity. Must try if in Kuching and hungry.

Khye Shen Sim (18/03/2017 15:47)
The soup is very aromatic, the pork is nicely prepared. This place is usually very crowded during lunch time.
And apparently there's rules if you want to eat here. One of the blog has it. When I went there I followed the so called rules, it was uneventful.

Worth to wait for the great kolo me and the mix pork soup. My favourite spot for having brunch during weekend. Come before 10am and after 2pm. Thumbs up!!

Andrew Lo (20/01/2017 23:39)
Food is nice and authentic. However opening time is 7:30am but food can only be served at 8:30am. So no early eatter there...

Jason Ng (03/01/2017 13:02)
Best in class . Unique and with ingredients are fresh. Would have put 5 stars if I hadn't try his mum shop during earlier days.

Ronald Lepon (23/08/2016 01:39)
The best noodle in Kuching, but have to wait for at least half an hour to be served. You have to choose between time or nice meal.

christabelle cindy (12/08/2016 05:25)
The noodle's structure is the best so far..plus the mix pork soup...woahhhh undescribeable!! Higly recommended... p/s: please be patient while waiting for your mee to be serve..it will take atleast 30mins...the longest i had wait so far 1hour...but it really worth the wait...

Chris Chin (29/07/2016 05:48)
Um. Ok I suppose. Noodles are good, but I don't think it's good enough to wait so long for... There's a faster place nearby.

Nice & fresh food stall serving breakfast and lunch. Typical local Teochew-Kuchingites cooking, mee/noodle soup. Really refreshing and delicious.
One of the oldest cooking in town.

henryk4549 (13/04/2016 04:54)
The original 猪杂汤(Hokkien calls it Zheng Tneng) that goes well with noodles kueh tiau beehoon or steamed rice. Original stall first became famous and popular while operating at Carpenter Street. Recently moved here. Expect long wait for your orders.
