Great family run place with well priced and tasty meals. Local artists are supported within the restaurant and the owner is a wealth of insight into Kuching

A relaxing cafe. Great for families. Find Colin and Trudy who will be your local guides. Very hospitable and so so kind with their time. Amazing art work and great things to do. Or just sit by the roadside and watch the world pass by. Must try the nasi lemak and coconut shake.

Cozy little space with delicious food and desserts. Coffee is good here and friendly employees. They organize exhibitions or workshops here.

Lovely little café with good coffee, and staff are amazingly friendly. They occasionally have events that promote local talents, which in my opinion adds a lovely layer to this café.

Good coffee, good desserts ,and helpful staff, + a college atmosphere. But they close very early and don't open that early.

Awesome cafe tucked away in Upper China Street. They are very supportive of the local art community.

At first I saw this place on TripAdvisor but had difficulty finding it as its tucked away into the small nooks and crannies of Upper China Street. But when you do find it you're in for a pleasant surprise. It felt cozy and the 2 ladies at the counter may look local to you but they do dish out a good cup of Cap and other western food dishes! Must try if you're in Kuching.

Don't be fooled by the funky name! Indah Cafe really lives up to it's name, both in food and aesthetics.
Located at Carpenter Street Kuching, Indah Cafe is one of the few new mushrooming cafes for nice food and drinks.
Food:
What's special of Indah Cafe is that their food and drinks are hand made! Try the Beef Shepard Pie, with its nicely made beef bolognese wrapped in a soft cushion of potato pastry. Or sip their hot Lemon Tea, I highly recommend it especially after a hot sunny day. I haven't tried their coffee yet though.
Price:
Being hand made, I'd say that the price is reasonable. In fact, some the food and drinks are relatively more affordable. Occasionally there will be seasonal promotions on certain meal sets.
Service:
The staff are very friendly and helpful. You'll be greeted by warm smiles the moment you step into the cafe door.
Venue:
The cafe has an extensive collection of artwork by local artists. Take your time to look through the paintings while enjoying your meal. The overall decorations add an ambient feeling of coziness within the old shophouse walls.
Verdict:
A cafe, and an art gallery not to be missed next trip to Carpenter Street.

Very nice cafe in a traditional Chinese building in the heart of Kuching. Home made cakes are delicious - we tried several of them. We also stayed in the Indah homestay, a huge loft style apartment in a traditional Chinese shophouse , just down the road of Indah cafe. We loved the space and extended our stay several times. Owners Colin and Trudy are great hosts. They made us feel extremely welcome. Strongly recommend both, Indah Cafe and Indah homestay.
