The place there was very calm as the entire resort was surrounded with trees, giving the impression of staying near the jungle while it is not. The only gripes that i have is the room that me and my friends stayed wasnt the one that we booked ( getting a single queen bed instead of single queen bed + one single bed). The place has an alcohol bar for the Halal concerners. Overall the place was great.

Like the food. Limited staff to serve. Be aware that you need to wait a bit longer for your food. Price is reasonable. Not sure about the halal certification here.

Throw back to the early 1900s, it's more of a motel instead of a hotel. Nice grounds with plenty of greens and a stone's throw to central Padungan Kuching.
Don't expect 5 star hotel amenities. WiFi is patchy at best and room comforts are reasonable. Good place to escape from modern life or used as a jumping point around Kuching.

If u want the jungle feel without travelling to the outskirts, here is a mini jungle getaway vibe. They have a pool and a bar if you just dont want to go anywhere!

Staying in Basaga was the best hotel/resort experience I have ever had. Not only did we get picked up from the airport, but we were practically treated like royalty! All the staff are extremely friendly and helpful. The pool area was particularly beautiful and it was evident that they put a lot of effort into maintaining the garden and beautiful fish. The food was phenomenal and the wandering cats and kittens were absolutely adorable if shy, providing hours of entertainment. The rooms were also fully air conditioned and included a fan and a wide variety of television channels. The bathrooms attached to the room were the perfect size and extremely clean, as well as the room including the most comfortable bed and softest sheets I have ever slept on in my entire life (seriously, I really want to know what brand they are because they were heavenly). I found out that a percentage of the profits go towards helping the orang utans and that just made me even more happy at how selfless and kind the resort owners were (they were also incredibly friendly). To top it all off, the price is incredibly cheap.
The best hotel/resort in the entire world by far.

Reception don't know how big is the room. And ask me to come over for 3 times. End up still cannot view the room or given any information regarding the room. She asked me to search online!
