Museum focuses on a middle-class shop house, as an actual physical house, rather than on what would have been happening and been contained within it. Descriptions of the construction materials, that kind of thing.
Worth a quick look, not least as a contrast to all the upper class villas which normally get preserved. In contrast to previous review, was open this Monday

Malacca Heritage Centre @ No 8 Heeren St (Jalan Tun Tan Cheng Lock),
is a museum offering free admission to vistors. It's a private initiative so donations are welcome.
This original old shop house was restored in accordance with the recommendations from UNESCO and it’s been done with original materials where possible. There are informative wall signs and pictures, which allow us to understand a the Real Old Melaka a little better.
Open: 11am – 4pm but CLOSED on MONDAY & SUNDAY

2nd time visiting this restored historical place. This time Colin was on duty. The guides never fail to impress on sharing the history of the place.
A must visit.
And it's free.
Do drop a small donation.
