Nice, cosy and well furnished, Settlement hotel sits right next to the Portuguese Settlement and a short 5 minute drive to Hatten City where the newest shopping belt in Melaka sits. Nearby are many famous restaurants that spots choices from satay celop to seafood bbq. Getting around is easy using Grab, driving into the city center and Jonker walk is not recommended as it is extremely difficult to park. Definitely recommend this place except during Christmas and New year Eve as celebrations at the Portuguese Settlement tend to make this place jammed packed and traffic comes to a standstill. No ride hailing driver will want to pick you from here during these festive occasions (Christmas + New Year's eve)

The story of Melaka, also known as Malaysia’s Historic City, starts of with the fascinating tale of the origin of its name. Founded in 1400 by Parameswara, a Palembang Prince who, inspired by the show of bravery of a mousedeer that kicked one of his hunting dogs into a river, decided to establish a city on the ground he was sitting on. As he was resting under the shade of the Melaka tree, so the city was named.
Situated at a point of strategic importance, Melaka boomed into a prosperous international trading port for spices, porcelain, tea and silk – luring Chinese, Javanese, Indian and Arab merchants. As Malacca’s fame and wealth grew, it soon fell under the covetous eyes of emerging European powers, and was colonised by the Portuguese, Dutch and British. The imprints of all the different influences are still visible in the architecture, heritage buildings and colonial structures we see in Melaka.

Good and decent hotel. Friendly receptionist. Very comfortable. Parking space limited. Nice view. Surrounded by apartments. Ok

Breakfast really good, extremely friendly staff. Not too happy with the bathroom layout. WiFi was not the best. Would go for a different hotel next time.

Honestly, the best hotel for its price.. Nice decoration, very nice breakfast, quality sleep because the room is very quiet. Gonna come back again for sure! Keep up the good work!!

First of all, I love the cleanliness of my room. Not even a spec of dust on the floor, table, cabinet and even the bed rest. I felt very comfortable during my stay. Staff is friendly and always offer assistance. Car park is provided but need to first come first park basis or else you will need to park outside.
My personal feedback will be as follows:-
1. Meehoon breakfast is a bit salty
2. Carpet on the floor tends to be slippery when stepped on. Recommend to sew those non-slip rubber underneath the carpet
3. For those who loves soft mattress, you would love the bed. For me, I like firm mattress and it gave me slight back ache after waking up.

Room is clean and solid, bed is comfortable (a little small for me but I had a very good sleep), staff are courteous, polite and accommodating. Will definitely return

Nice boutique hotel away from the maddening crowds. Parking is hard to find if, like me, it's your first time here. Look for 7-11 the turning is just after /before depending on which way you are coming from. Rooms smaller than it seems on their website but we'll maintained. Love the fragrance in the hallways.

Service is good, decorate with taste, bed ultra confy and bathroom really relaxing. But it's a bit far from city center approximately 4 km next to the Portuguese quarter and the building as itself is not charming.

My problem was the parking spaces, so few and getting there quite difficult

Good staff service, professionally well dress. Room is cleaned and well maintained. Shuttle bus provided free of charge at 2 hour interval daily to the city point of interests.

It was a great setting. Loved the rustic and classic designs. I went during christmas and it had great decorations, not to mention the carolers that entertained us. Besides parking was nearby and staff were helpful and kind. The room was a little small however the room designs were beautiful. Breakfast was impeccable and no regrets paying for it. Highly recommend for a quiet getaway. Not your average hotel and facilities are minimum. Pool is small and space a little limited but it owrked out great. It being nearby the Portuguese settlement helped us avoid the heavy traffic altogether.

An amazing place to relax and explore the beautiful city of Melaka. The swimming pool is a real delight after a day of sightseeing, the buffet breakfast is divine and the room feels like being in your own colonial mansion. We loved it there ! Only downside was the Wi-Fi that went down because of the storm but they fixed it quickly.

This hotel is situated at ujung pasir; not far from portugese settlement..
Going to town or jonker will require a drive or a ride (10-15 minutes)...
Cozy hotel...
Small rooms...
Go for Juniour suite as it provides adequate space..
Nevertheless love the big tub and separate shower...
Simple turn down service during the eve..
Nevertheless the hotel is kind of abit off the way from the city so its best to drive..
But the hotel does provide 1 way shuttle to town / jonker...

Excellent warm hospitality with a fantastic turn down service where they come by your room in the evening to check if you need anything i.e. towels, bath foam, water. Will definitely go again!
