A really good restaurant within the vicinity of Jonker Walk. The restaurant really has its own vibe, creating a relaxing, cozy atmosphere. The burger taste awesome, and the portion is generous too. Highly recommended!

My favorite place of Melaka Malaysia. The lemongrass tea was superb! The decor and vibe were breathtaking, interesting, beautiful and yet quaint and homey. The wait staff was friendly, knowledgeable and very personable. The owner's dog was whimsically, mysteriously hilarious. I will definitely be back to the Baboon House!

The Baboon House is a very quaint restaurant. My first time here, I found the setting to be quite nice and hip. There are a handful of quirky decorations that go nicely with the building. The burger I had was fantastic and very juicy! I found the prices to be quite fair for the taste and selection of items available.

This is a beautiful and unique cafe, and their burgers are really good. The beef burger was really juicy and the spices were bold, making it a great burger overall. The pork belly burger is even better, with the sweetness of the pineapple pairing perfectly with the heavily charred flavor of the pork belly. Even though I live 4 hours from here, I will be back.

I just love the setting and the deco. We arrived a little bit earlier than opening hours but the staff kind enough to let us in and order coffee. They have good coffees and the price are much more reasonable compared to few other cafe around the same area. Like the little drinks menu done from carton box, very creative.

It's an unique restaurant with very creative ideas. I'm impressed with the restaurant's setup and decorations. They managed to decorate with recycled items. The variety and the taste of the food was good. Recommended for people who are looking for different environment to have their meal. It's suitable for small crowd. Can use cash/credit card for payment.

Try the aloha oriental chicken burger (28 Ringgit) & pork belly burger (22 Ringgit). The aloha oriental chicken burger was super delicious, fresh juicy meat patty with grilled pineapple and cheese is too good to miss. The well marinated pork belly burger was a tad too dry for my liking. Side dishes were wedges and potato salad, both quite good but nothing special. Beautiful shophouse littered with art pieces at every corner. Love it.

The food was good.. Ordered a lamb special burger and a pork teriyaki burger.. Both was delicious... Seeing the previous reviews, none of that was detected... Price is around RM18 to RM24 for the burgers.. Nice quiet ambience.. Friendly staff... No reservation needed...

Must try in Malacca!!! Very nice, artistic, unique, and artsy cafe decoration. Perfected with delicious western fushion meal. I ordered a bacon burger and bacon salad that came on huge portion for me (maybe average portion for westerner haha).. they taste superb! We can't take picture of the surroundings and interior, but we still can shot the meals. Definitely worth the price.

Definitely a must visit. Nice private ambience w amazing food. The signature burger is a must try. Ordered the orange and lime homemade beer which taste exceptionally nice.

Nice quiet ambient. A hideout. I arrived in Malacca on Thursday afternoon and went to Baboon House for lunch. I had a salad (lettuce, with pan-fried tomatoes, cucumber, popcorn chicken, fried beacon, and some toasted bread on top). Won't say it's like amazing, but it's OKayy.
I also ordered a small pot of lemongrass tea.
Good service.

After reading all the reviews, I decided to pop in and it is an over rated place. Ambience wise, it is a different type of approach that is being presented. Pretty casual and laid back. Food wise, it was not worth it at all. I ordered the Baboon Mint tea. It felt more like a glass of cheap teh boh filled with mint leaves and cost almost RM7. The bigger rip off came with the RM26 Aloha Oriental Chicken burger with mashed potatoes and potato wedges. There are two options to the burger wiz., spicy and sweet. We chose the spicy option but ours was neither. The burger was made to look like it was home made but this is the problem
1) the burger patty itself was tasteless and dry (it seems to be frozen & not fresh)
2) the pineapple slice is similar to the canned type (not fresh)
3) the chicken ham was high in salt content. Most probably purchased from the supermarket (not fresh)
4) mashed potatoes was cold

Cosy and hipster place. If you like greenery this is the place to come. Lots of plants placed and grown throughout the cafe. No pictures are allowed however in the cafe.
Ian Lin (01/08/2017 17:59)
interesting cafe which requires ringing of doorbell to request entry. 1 of those deep houses with toilet all the way at the back of property. decent burgers at prices similar to S'pore (except in ringgit)

Amazing place delicious food drink. We had pork belly burger. The pork is so good juicy testy. The lamp burger hardly smell the lamp. The tea is also nice. The decorations of the place is so beautiful well choose of the furniture, cozy and feel closed to nature. We felt like home. The owner has good test of music. We keep asking the staff what's the name of the song Lol and they are being very helpful. Good service.

Wonderful ambience and amazing well prepared food. The burgers (we had the cheeseburger and the egg and bacon one) were heavenly. Staff were all really nice and friendly. The heritage shop house it is situated in is authentic, and all decor and furniture enhances the beauty of the original architecture, instead of trying to modernize it. Overall great experience, highly recommended.

Quiet place and they have beautiful garden. You can't take any photo inside though. The food is okay. If you are searching for a cozy place, this is it.

The environment is actually really creepy, because there are many statues or drawings of creatures with horns. Plenty of ritualistic items all around. However, the food is really tasty. I've enjoyed the food but not the environment.

I must say it's a place not to be missed during your visit to Malacca. We were in a group of 6 and everyone enjoyed this place. Unique in its own way, cosy and calm, very artistic. Sadly no photos can be taken in the premises. Worth the time and money....

Too bad we are not allowed to take photos. It is a very quiet serinity cafe with greenery. Lovely place to chill. Good food.
Ryan Payne (01/05/2017 02:00)
A little quirky and somewhat hipsterish, but excellent burgers and fruit smoothies in a secluded and invigorating atmosphere.
Leon Krack (29/04/2017 04:15)
Incredibly calm and decelerated place. Enjoy the beautifully draped plants, take a book and taste that beef burger! Prices are moderate, I paid around 30 ringgit for a burger and a juice.
Music is also very atmospheric

Beautiful setting with lots of artwork and plants with natural lighting. Food was pretty good and the homemade drinks were excellent. You have to ring the bell to get in and might take them a minute to answer the door. Not exactly cheap but you do get a large portion.
Cristina Enache (18/02/2017 09:16)
Excellent foods and drinks. The deserts were to die for. But the most amazing thing was the interior and the atmosphere. The best in Mallaca
Shu Lee Wong (21/01/2017 16:03)
all of their meals, drinks and desserts are delicious
they locked the frontdoor, you are allowed to step in only after you ring their bell. thus, the environment is always quite, private and safe.
Boey Huey Shen (23/12/2016 09:22)
Nice and cozy place with a rustic and artistic interior. Food is good and price is a little higher than average. Very private and photos are not allowed which is a waste for such artistic views.

Good if along the way.
It was hot and it was sweltering but we pushed on. The reward at the end of the hunt was a pork bell burger. It was delicious with every bite and bite we did. We finished it and turned our sights to the potato wedges which seemed took be individually cooked to perfect crispiness. Yummy.
James Sia (11/11/2016 03:53)
The place is rustic and work in progress cafe. The food quality is over rated and expensive. Tourist price. Service is slow and have difficulty to cope with more than 5 crowd. I ordered Aloha Beef Burger to go with the Pineapple Ginger drink. Real food but not quite there yet.
Mia Dushi (23/09/2016 15:05)
Home made Burger buns.. Tranquil and serene ambiance. Yummylicious sorts of burgers....
Friendly staffs and owner.
Filippo Lopes (22/09/2016 06:18)
Nice place. Waitresses should run less. They make me feel in a rush. Love the fact you can't take pictures. It's beautiful :)
David Ng (22/08/2016 01:39)
The food and ambience is unique and nice. Tried their pineapple beer. Lovely. Must try if you visit. More like a cocktail with very low alcohol. Excellent companion for the burgers.
TiongWho (28/07/2016 07:59)
A unique hideout. Low profile if you see from outside. You will never expect what they will offer. Love their homemade pineapple beer and juicy burgers.
Come and visit, you will be surprised.
Xian Han (03/07/2016 04:03)
It is more like an Art Gallery than a Café.
Food is above average. But probably of high rank on Malacca already. Signature beef burger choose very good ingredients and with a bit local touch of spice. Pineapple makes the burger tropical and refreshing.
Worth to try!
Sylvain JG (29/05/2016 06:46)
Really nice atmosphere, chilled and green. The staff is really nice too. Burgers are good.
Andy Hudson (23/04/2016 04:09)
Probably the best burger I've ever tasted - strongly recommend the Aloha Burger with beef patty. Potato wedges also very tasty.
I would also go for the Malacca Coffee, iced - it's very strong but also very refreshing.
You could easily drive past it, so make sure and keep an eye out for it - you need to ring the doorbell to get in, and it's worth visiting for the decor alone (no photos allowed though).
A real gem in the heart of Malacca.
Najd Salas (11/04/2016 04:55)
Delicious food (try the burgers) in a unique and relaxing house full of paintings, sculptures, plants, courtyards, and fish tanks.
There's a strict no pictures policy inside the house.
Teck Chye Tan (20/12/2015 11:22)
great place and I truly enjoyed my burger... surprise find in Melaka....
I also like to point out that the location on google map is wrong. It is not behind baba house. It's actually 10 units away. If you are walking from the river side, you would see baboon house first before you see baba house, almost out of place with all the plants and greenery. But that's the one.
MJ Lim (03/12/2015 12:54)
Attentive staffs, carefully crafted decorations are spooky and mysterious, and really live up to the hype of having the best western food in Malacca.
Their burgers and bacons are mouth watering!
