Good old teochew food that was from a humble small shop. Standout oyster noodles!

Over 20 of us had a family Sunday lunch there yesterday, but many of us, including myself, came down with diarrhea, vomiting and fever .
We suspect the oysters and poor hygiene were to blame.
The prices are bordering on exorbitantly high, so we left out ordering prawns and fish.
Not recommended and we will never go there again.

Overall, the food is good. The oyster noodle is unique and should try. Typical type of chinese restaurant where food is usually tasty, place is loud, no frills service and comparable price. Would come back again.

Very disappointed of the service and very sacratic owner!!! We had make a reservation at 7:30pm but we arrived 7pm they don't allow us to be seated even thought the table not occupy, we have to stand and waited outside the restaurant until 7:30pm...please be more flexible if the table occupy we understand but is empty!!! The food is over rated! Not as good as we expected! The food is nothing great. So so only.. we never never go back to this proud and elegant (owner) restaurant again..

Reserve to ensure u get a table... steamed fish, stewed duck and Or nee my favorites... Cold dish and Suckling Pig must be pre-ordered.... both are nice but price are on the high side... Oyster noodles average....

Family style restaurant (full of families on a Sunday lunchtime), modern and very clean. Excellent service. High quality Teochew style seafood. Top on menu = noodles with oysters in thick sauce

Spuriously cheap and delicious Teow Chew Food!
I love the oyster noodle very much , service was great, order is fast and cook is fast also.
The young boss is very friendly and welling to chit chat and share about his cooking experience with us even he is very busy.

Autentic delicious teochew dishes. Love their 'or-nee' yam paste pudding. Prices are reasonable based on the type of dishes you ordered. Certain dishes like the roasted suckling pig and four seasons cold dish have to be pre ordered. Best make reservation otherwise might not get a table.

The 2 signature dishes are good...a little pricey though...

Very good and polite service. The teochew food is excellent. Not to be missed.

Excellent teochew food. Favourites include steam pomfret, braised duck, and yam paste dessert.

Great signature Oyster fried noodles. . Must mixed with black vinegar to give the added punch.
Allan Choy (09/06/2017 07:17)
The oyster noodle is a must. One of best teow chew food in Melaka

Their Hokkien style yee mee with oysters is a must have. Ambience and decor passable.

Good food, but some dishes only luke warm, whereas others are nice and hot. Good variety.

Traditional Teo Chiew dishes . Very nicely done by a very experienced chef. The only drawback is the price .
Ching Hooi Lee (21/03/2017 14:40)
Disappointed. Not as good as it used to be at the old place near Jonker street.
Food served are not hot but just slightly warm? Which means there is no "wok hei" at all.
The only thing i felt still as good after so many years is the yam paste (oh ni...)
Pang Sheen Yeo (03/02/2017 11:26)
Go for the signature oyster noodle, fried softshell crab and Yam paste dessert.
Andrew Chee (11/12/2016 17:29)
The food was great and not too expensive. Staff are very friendly and ready to help. Highly recommended place for Chinese food.
cho hh (11/09/2016 14:17)
Ordered a suckling pig for rmb 250 odd. Find it a bit too greasy for my liking. The oyster noodle and yam dessert were nice, the rest normal.
Daniel H (13/06/2016 12:38)
Excellent Teochew dishes...loved the steamed pomfret, fried oyster noodles and salted egg chicken; the ngo hiang, dumpling and yam dessert were also great. Unfortunately, they had to shift out of their old premise in Jonker walk...I missed their old, "rundown" ambience.
Michael Ng (22/05/2016 16:40)
This place have excellent oyster noodle and steam pomfret 'Teochew' style. If you like deep fried food, definitely try the deep fried soft shell crab. Finish off the meal with Mash Yam 'Teochew' style dessert. A must try for visitors to the city who enjoys 'Teochew' style Chinese food.

Chinese Restaurant with nice dishes of food. Some items could be a bit expensive.
Yeo Kim Dek (27/03/2016 08:41)
Good restaurant. It moved from Jonker street. The feel and ambience isn't quite the same any more though.
Parking is plenty and good to go for the Oyster Noodles and Orh Ni.
Preston Soh (25/07/2015 05:25)
Great food! Thing to take note
No menu available, the dishes are on the wall with photo (in the past). Place are small and suggest to make reservation.
Recommended food. Suckling pig, Fried Oyster dark noodle, Yam paste. To me is a must try.
Above comments based on last visit at old outlet 3 years ago.
Will be visit next week. Hope the standard remain the same.
Warning: You will get fatter if visit frequently. 😂

Food was fine, I would rate 6.5/10. Despite the claims of serving authentic teochew food, the teochew steam fish was quite a disappointment. The yam paste was good. One thing to highlight is that, the young lad shop waiter was very talkative and annoying. No menu is available and the lad never really introduced all the food/dishes available. he just mentioned to us a few dishes and expected us to agree .
