Despite the food is nice but the quality has been dropped as 5 years ago, the food is always delicious and tasty.

Came here again. Quality of the food has dropped slightly. Some Nyonya dishes are still good. Service is ok. But the place is a bit stuffy. One of the ceiling fan is faulty. Also there are a lot of mosquitoes. Need to be prepared if you decide to have dinner here.
The cencharu egg was a big salty. The paku-pakis vege was not as tasty as what it used to taste like.
But overall the experience is ok.

Based on my experience dining here alone, place is not customer friendly if you are a single diner but if you are a westerner tourist, in a group or drive an expensive car the attitude will be different. Staff keep pestering you to quickly choose your food instead of giving you the time to slowly read the menu and ended up ordering a plate of normal fried rice which is very expensive if compared to other shop. The owner, a white haired men keep smoking inside the premises thus making it very hard to breathe inside with all those smokes (Lung cancer, here I come). Saw a cockroach running by the drain outside as I was sitting at the corner entrance table so hygiene is also in question. Just riding on the Nyonya brand wave but food doesn't feel authentic as it was prepared by foreigners. I've been to other Nyonya eateries and they are much better in terms of food and pricing.

All the savoury dishes I ordered was too sweet. Sayur paku sweet, asam pedas sweet, sambal belacan sweet and otak-otak too. The ingredients are not fresh either. Table next to us complained food too saltt 😁. Overall quite pricey.

Perhaps you might want to lower down your expectations during your visit. Overall food are average and a bit pricy. Since we are just here for a trip so I think is fine if the food average or even the price a bit higher than our expectation. But I truly can't stand the owner enjoying his cigarette inside the restaurant throughout the day. That force us to leave the restaurant as fast as we could. Please be more considerate to ppl who are having their food.

Place is quite small & congested. Food was OK only. You must have a lot of patience as the food may reach you after you lose your appetite. We waited for more than 30mins before we get our first meal arrived. They keep on welcoming more patrons into their shop although people who are already sitting & waiting for their food was kept waited. I'm definitely not going to revisit this place again.

Asam ikan, bazhang and laksa was nice. Mee hun goreng and nasi lemak has nothing special.

I always get this question, any good nyonya food in Melaka? I personally recommend this place, less commercialized, cozy eating place in Melaka.

Cendol is nicer than Jonker 88. I like the portion size. Price range a bit higher than usual. The place Is cozy and comfortable and the waiter indeed very polite. Difficult to get parking nearby. Nice place to chill and your evening

Good nyona food. Don't go during public holidays.. the surcharge is crazy but to be fair, so does every other stall that is open.

Was served by a grumpy old man and so I did not enjoy my meal there. When as for direction to the washroom, he said there was none.

Portions were small. Food was nice but not mind blowing. I would say, not high in terms of value for money.

Good for small bites and small selection of vegerarian options, while waiting for coach!.

Went to the Malacca branch yesterday. Same price but the portion is ridiculous for the pricing. I'm regretting not to take pictures of the lunch I had. I was too shocked- 3 pieces of shrimp goreng asam RM11.90 (literally just tamarind juice, no garnishing whatsoever)!!
One small plate of sayur pucuk paku was RM9! And an omellette (max of 2 eggs) RM8!
I mean, the prices are already there for years, but I can still remember the PORTION and TASTE was worth paying for.
NOT RECOMMENDED AT ALL. Felt so CHEATED!
Please look at your portion size, 3 small shrimps fr almost RM12, is utterly over pricing.

Good portion size to try more of their food.
Good food. I havent tried alot of peranakan food hence i did not say its the best.
The Peranakan coffee is something to try. Good and KAU with a taste of Malacca

Cendol was great, but avoid the mangoes. Used to be fresh but now is frozen
MOHD NOR MUHAMMAD (06/05/2016 08:59)
I don't actually know if this is the best Peranakan restaurant in Melaka coz it was my first time trying Pranakan meal.
The food is good though..just that the portion is small. And a bit pricey.

I just had otah noodles and requested for more vegetables and less noodles. But the owner said its not possible to do so even when the stall doesnt have a huge crowd at all.
But the otah and the mee siam tasted not too bad. Heard from the owner that their nyonya food was used for filming in the show 'the little nyonya'

The food is expensive, taste like Indonesian maid cooking. with a boss siting at front counter taking order. Basically store with 2 people. One maid and one boss. RM 6.75 (RM 5.80+service+GST) for a plate of plain beehun with sambal and egg.

Request for fried rice without chilli but was given chilli fried rice. Instead of offering an exchange, the waitress propose us to get additional pontian chicken. Food was below average, drinks were too sweet. Request for a glass of plain water to dilute the sweetness but was given just one small cup (~20ml?) and no additional glasses to mix the drink.
