It was ok...the ambience was good but they seem to have lost the typical portugese feeling...the food tasted like any malaysian restaurant.. i had been there 10 years ago..then it was different.

It a fun experience to go there the view is nice and the food also nice so very recommended to go there

Food was normal. Crab was fresh. Pricing was on high side. Bukit Tambun was better. They all can do away with harassing potential customer. It would a better deal if every stall operator let the customer choose their prefered stall like everwhere else. Not planning to come back.

Good food as always in de Lisbon restaurant but takes awhile... have some patience and all will be fine...

good food, recommend stall/restaurant no.10... must try Joe's mango juice.
the moment you park, you will be "accosted" by representatives from the different stalls, trying to convince you to eat at their stall, if you know which stall you want to go to, just say the number and they will all disperse immediately.

J&J corner restaurant (Stall 10) is the best! I had the best seafood and Portuguese cooking there. You can't go wrong with the chef's recommendations (red wordings in the menu). Price is very reasonable. LOVE it!

Many waitresses try to accost customers from afar, but we chatted with a friendly one and ended up in her restaurant. It was the friendly chatter that made us decide to eat in No. 2 Joan and El Chico's. We got to understand a bit more about life in the settlement. Many would give reviews about seafood, but my company and I liked the brinjals the best. We tried both the black pepper and muliu, the latter being unique to only this restaurant. Come for the food, but also to understand the people better. Best visit off peak season so the friendly locals get to share their stories with you.

One of the best places for seafood in Malaysia. Fresh and reasonable. Its was the Christmas period and there were groups of children from the Portuguese community going around singing carols. Lovely. A must go while in Malacca if you love local seafood.

But watch out. You'd be swarmed by touts from the various stalls. Just be friendly and they'll be friendly back.

The seating is mainly outdoors, so good weather is an important factor for a nice alfresco dinner.

Prices change depending on the weight of your food (so don't be fooled by the price ons on the menu, they are wayyyy off). Be prepared to spend up big. Also, be prepared to say that you're just walking around as you will be asked to stop at every restaurant. Once you do sit down at one it's quite respectful though. The view was nice and the atmosphere.

There is many choices of restaurant.
My family choose restaurant no. 7.
Food nice with reasonable price.
Too crowded during peak season.
Spend about 2hours to wait for food be served.

This is one of the worst place to go wt family, particularly when u reach the place + come down fr the car the food vendors( abt 6-8 pax) come shouting , trying to call us to their individual stall. My kids + adults following us got so scared till v decided to leave the place. The most frightening experience.

Monterious was where we ate. The dishes were fantastic: Otota which is Fish paste baked in beautiful curry, Brinjals fried with sambal (eggplant), Lala (small clams) in chilli & ginger. But the best part was the hostesses: Helen & Janet (the Chef) they went above & beyond to help us with our order and were so friendly. We also met their sister's Joan & Alice. The food was fresh & amazing. Thanks Ladies regards Janelle & Michael

The seafood is fresh and tasted good. The staff is helpful. But restaurateurs chasing you to choose one of them when you just step out the car. it feels uncomfortable.

Sengkeong Lee (26/03/2017 15:48)
The food is normal to good, just like any ordinary restaurant u would have in town. The part I don't like is the vendors keep pushing u to pick their restaurant and they will tell at you. Unless u think it is fun to see them fight for you, please don't go there.

Amazing food at bargain prices. In my list of 'must eat again' places

First time visit, impressing feeling, inconjuction with christmas decoration feeling, passby the every house to house witness the grand christmas decoration contest, by the windy sea side, seeing kids playing firework, wearing santa clone singing song to donate money, while glad to take picture with the stall 10 kristang owner, love the fried pepper brinja and few generation inheritage otak sauce, love the super rich joe only mango juice, so on and so forth authentic portugese delight...
Just sad to heard from 1 of the jalan d'aranjo road house owner mention the private portugese heritage musuem is now rundown as the person in charge is old and sick now.

Food is great. My preffered stall is No. 5. For first timer, the moment your car came into the parking lot , you will be surrounded by the stall operator, all trying to pitch. They will bombarded you with lots of chanting and some cases, a little hostile. Food is definitely great, try devils curry. Also nice sunset scenery.

Cooper Lee (13/12/2016 12:09)
The car park entry fee is RM2, and the are numbers of parking slots near to the food court area. There will be number of people's asking you to choose which stall you want to choose. You can tell them that you will choose later. You can snap for sunset by the seaside and have a walk along the walkway. But the food taste just normal, not that surprise.

# Chua Boon Kiat (11/08/2016 16:54)
Had seafood from stall 5. Price is still alright.

Nisha Lini (01/08/2016 04:15)
Food was good. Fish was very expensive. But price of chicken was affordable. But right after u parked ur car and got down the people from their shops will come after u and each of them asking u to go to their respective shops. In my case there were like 5-6 people coming after our group. It was so unpleasant. They didn't let us to go anywhere alone until u choose a stall.

Very friendly people there, near the sea..nice viewing..!

Vishal Bhardwaj (24/04/2016 07:51)
The stall NO.1 is where I had my meal, and it had really awesome salt heated crab, the best I have tasted. Their Devils chicken curry was the perfect blend of spicy and tangy, with succulent chicken meat was finger licking good. I also tried Portuguese style baked fish, which tasted really good, though the hotness was too much for me to handle (I don't enjoy spicy food much)

Stephen Abraham (25/11/2015 17:05)
Contrary to the name, this landmark has little historical significance compared to the area itself. This is more like a foodcourt where you can get fresh seafood. Whilst I enjoyed the food, I do wish if there could have been a small museum or exhibit to give more historical information on the area. Come in the evening time and try the grill fish and other portugese inspired food.
