Food was decently good, ambient wise was normal nothing extraordinary. But the cendol dessert was exceptionally good! Was too hungry so forgotten to take pictures.

The food was not too good. The petai in the prawn petai sambal tasted bitter and old. The omelette was nice...not oily but fluffy and down to the T. The assam pedas fish head was neither assam nor pedas! The worst was the cendol...the picture in the menu book clearly shows a regular cendol....what we got was a cendol with a paste of some long green stuff and some red paste of the beans. Looked so bad....The kankong was great ya. Everything with the drinks cost RM137/-. I have definitely had better food for this amount.

The wait was about half hour, but worth it. Quite pricey but the taste is very authentic . Come early or you might not get the best fish pieces. Must try the asam pedas dish and cencaluk omelette. They cook fresh every time. Very friendly server. Good for large family dining. Can fit about 50-60 pax.

Restaurant Empty . Only customer. Service grumpy. More interested in closing at 830 pm.

The food were authentically Nyonya, tasted yummy and price reasonable. The decor of the place could do with some sprucing up though, some of the old unused stuff should be taken away to give room to newer and
bright decor.
The washroom was clean.

Yes it is a good times for I don’t

Delicious Nyonya dish. Taste very different from Penang Nyonya dish. Should try if you want to get the real Melaka Nyonya dish.

Robert Chris Lee (09/02/2018 06:25)
Reminded me of my late Mum’s cooking. Authentic Traditional Peranakan cuisine. Cincalok, prawn, pongteh all delicious.

Service is good. This place serves dishes like home cooked food, The fish head Assam tastes great. Try the chendol- good.

Doesn't taste like Nyonya food at all. To make things worst, the food tastes terrible. The food is so oily and salty. Could have gotten better tasting, more authentic and better quality Nyonya food for the price paid. The services are also very slow and poor with rude staffs throwing the dishes onto your table. Will definitely not recommend this restaurant. Don't be faked bt the publicity and advertisements. Seriously i wonder how this restaurant got its "good" ratings.

Yang Kepler (13/12/2017 06:10)
Waited for about 30 minutes outside the shop before we were allocated a table (to share with other people). Nyonya food is served here - it's nice if you love salty food! But the older folks in my group find it too salty and oily. Despite that, they said that it is authentic.

Brought my family for late dinner on a Sunday. Food tasted ok but pricy. We ordered a few dishes including midsize assam fish head n steam fish. We asked the prices but the owner simply said they are according to list price RM38 to 68. In the end we were charged RM59 n RM51 arbitrarily for the two fish dishes. The portions served were small for such high prices. If not for the friendly service, I would have given it 1 star.

Excellent nyonya food with wide array of choice. Try the assam fish head, telur cincaluk, sotong with petai and otak-otak

Albert Choo (15/10/2017 12:23)
Nice food, natural spices and good service. One of the best nyonya style food.

Shihong Khor (07/10/2017 06:00)
Decent Nyonya food. Not the best, but easy to get seats and very friendly staff. Staff quality is much better than those at Amy's. Can be a tad pricey.

Rick Low (04/09/2017 08:55)
U need to be ready to wait for like 30mins or more, before getting a seat. Food wise was ok and ordered:-
1. Ayam pong teh - so-so nothing spectacular
2. Sambal sotong with petai - love this dish as the sotong is quite big with lots of petai
3. Otah-Otah - portion is reasonable and also nothing spectacular.
4. Cendol - a bit fail as not much ingredients and taste rather blend.

As I stayed nearby, and feel like eating something local food. This is the place where I can get an authentic food with the traditional ingredients where they still use it. It is recommended to dine with 4 persons while at least 2, as it's a proper full meal dinner. I eat alone anyway 😂

I couldn't have chance to taste what I wanted, but at least something what I always want to.

The cendol is superb! The syrup is taste sooo good, as it is locally made and called "gula melaka".

Abill Zackry (20/08/2017 11:17)
Family run, delicious food. Nicest Nyonya restaurant in the area.

Chan Chee Keong (04/08/2017 11:50)
Cosy restaurant with good service. Great taste. Reasonable price for the amount we ordered. Really enjoyed the cendol. Real authentic gula melaka.

Jia Wei Chong (02/07/2017 03:53)
The environment OK, the price slightly high, the portion consider OK, the taste slightly below average. Price is not indicated inside menu.

CT Chow (11/06/2017 13:08)
Recommended dishes: Pongteh chicken, sambal brinjal, otak-otak and not forgetting the super tasty cendol! (Their cendol uses small red beans)

Yong TM (10/06/2017 05:55)
The food was good but the serving sizes could be bigger for the price.
The environment is nice with so-so service.
Recommended for families.

LS Wong (10/06/2017 03:44)
Ordered otak otak, ayam pongteh, chap chay, prawn omelette and cendol. The otak_otak was tasty and price reasonable. But the ayam pongteh was a bit small portion considering the price. Cendol was good.

adeline miao (03/05/2017 15:19)
Full of flavour very delicious. More pricey but wrth it. Came here on a wed noon, no crowd

SP Goh (30/04/2017 13:09)
Ok. Food not bad but very ordinary home cooked taste only.

hamidi hamid (27/04/2017 11:45)
Recommended for those who are searching for baba and nyonya foods... Nice place, comfortable, and good service... Nice food but price slightly high... Good cendol... 👍

Madelyn Ong (09/04/2017 13:33)
Much less crowded as compared to Makko. Rice portion very small, you may need two plates to one if you're really hungry. We had eggplant, ayam pongteh and otah. Ayam pongteh was really delicious. Don't recommend anyone try the eggplant/brinjal dish as it's really average. Their recommended vegetable dish are indicated in the menu. Price is alright. Good to make reservations if you're coming during peak periods.

Michael Tan (28/03/2017 14:05)
Visited Cottage Spices while waiting to check-in. We went there in a group of 4 ordered Shrimp omelette, fried fish tail, sambal kangkong, spiced eggplant, cendol. Overall, the ingredients are fresh, serving portion is good, price is really reasonable. All tasted delicious. We love the eggplant and fish. The spice is just nice and the fish is nicely fried with the gel still intact on the fin and tail.

Ryan LU (09/02/2017 12:06)
Dishes were delicious and were served very quickly, we tried kangkung, fermented shrimp egg, rendang beef, sambal eggplant, quite an authentic Nyonya restaurant, the cendol also gives an authentic gula melaka flavour.

derrick goh (27/01/2017 11:08)
Very nice foods and just right spices. Try to be there early to avoid dissapoinment.

Michelle Neo (06/01/2017 23:24)
Great food , portion just nice. I like the fried rice and dessert. Will patronize the restaurant again.

Eric Woo (25/12/2016 12:49)
Great food i.e good taste, fresh ingredients, Great deserts, serving portion decent; price is reasonable. For dinner ... Go either before 6pm or after 730pm... they do have a queue.. no reservation.. first come first serve... overall worth the wait... enjoyed.

Jonathan Cheng (21/12/2016 06:03)
Quality food. The fried egg plant is very well done. Just the right mix of spices.

Ian How (24/06/2016 07:11)
Wanted to go Nyonya Makko but closed, this is at the opposite. Not bad. Price is above average.

Jack Chua (18/06/2016 05:37)
Recommended by friends who always visit malacca, very nice nyonya foods if you like slightly spicy food. Btw, you can have a taste of best chendol here.

Bugs Tan (07/06/2016 07:43)
Authentic Nyonya cuisine. No booking allowed, just for walk-in customer only. Good choice if you are keen on Nyonya food.

Christopher Tan (04/06/2016 14:14)
Standard nyona dishes available but alas no pork. ayam ponteh instead of babi ponteh. Buah keluak no stock subject to availability. Overall the dishes can satisfy most customers palate. Acceptable standard to me (3 dishes & desserts

Mimi B (26/03/2016 13:14)
Great Food almost home cooked. Prices can be a little pricey. Downside is they do not accept reservation and availability of dishes is subject to the amount of fresh food and sauces prepared daily. Solution is come as early as 6pm or after 7.30pm to avoid the long queue.
