Room and bathroom are clean and spacious. It's located within walking distance to Jonker street. Room service was great, you could even choose the type of pillow you wanted. There's also an infinity pool at the top.

My second stay at CDR and the service and experience still shines.
The bed is still as comfortable, with clean, good quality sheets. The rooms are just showing their age but it does not get in the way of the experience. Breakfast spread is very good but the quality of food seems to have slid a little since my last stay.
The thing that marred the experience is the large number of crows at the pool and restaurant. It's more of a town council problem than the hotel's but it certainly is cause for concern especially when you see crows bringing scraps of unidentified meat (which I assume are from rats) to devour at the poolside. Perhaps the management can talk to the town council about culling the large number of crows.
Other than that, I have always recommended and will continue to recommend Casa Del Rio as THE hotel for the true Melaka experience.

Spent an evening for hi tea. The menu was okay, nothing fancy. The overall restaurant has a classic look to it, with wooden furniture. The food was okay, menu was good for a hi tea. Overall the price was quite cheap, with 50% discount for senior citizen. Parking is provided at the lower ground level, but you still have to pay for RM7, which is quite expansive. Other parking options is outside of the hotel, but you might have to check with local law enforcement whether you can park on the side of the road.

Service is GREAT!! Staff is young and eager to please. Rooms are nicely equipped and good size. The outside noise can be heard in room at all hours so the noise insulation isn't the best but otherwise the hotel is amazing.
The pool is a vanishing edge but no hot tub. With the heat and humidity, it may not be justifiable.

Hotel is quite good and spacious. I love the view from the hotel. The only thing I didn't like it was the TV signal quality. Ofcourse we are here to visit places but the review is for the hotel and everything count on giving the review.

We like the hotel when first opened. And rates are good plus rooms are still new. But rooms are not well maintain and also service is not as good as before. Furthermore, we like the pub but for our last two visits, the bar has closed for more than 6 months already. Location is still good but overall hotel run down and poor service

Nice hotel very well located next to Jonker Street, walking distance to downtown. Good breakfast buffet and tastefully decorated rooms. Rooms on river side with nice views, but somewhat noisy due to evening live music in the bar. Friendly staff. Rooftop pool is great.

Visitors will experience a truly 5 star service here. The hotel provide room service even at night. Nice atmosphere and this hotel surrounded by wide variety of restaurant. Walking distance to Melaka most popular tourist attraction. Parking are provided at basement and free for hotel visitor. Roof top swimming pool provide magnificent view.

The breakfast was awesome. The rooms were spacious. However, some basic things not working made the stay less than easy. We were traveling with an infant and the fridge didn't work, for example. However, the staff was very accommodating and let us use the staff fridge to store breast milk.

Such a lovely place! Impeccable room-large and comfortable, beautiful bathroom, friendly helpful staff, GREAT location. My little niggle is that they didn't have vegetarian - vegan options on the lunch-dinner menu. But the breakfast buffet was sumptuous with several choices. All the cafes in the old town area were close at hand. We walked down the riverside many times. Thanks Casa del Rio!

We enjoyed our two nights at Casa del Rio. Fantastic location, right at the hear of Melaka, with walking access to all of the main attractions.
The hotel has all the comforts you might need but it is not pretentious. It looks after the small details and keeps a friendly and open communication with the customers, trying to make you feel at home.
The pool is great and the service is friendly and helpful.

Excellent service and cleanliness of the room and premises. Beautiful hotel. Buffet breakfast can be improved in terms of variety and quality. There was also a fly in the restaurant where breakfast was served. Also, room service and bars close at 11pm. 24 hour room service is expected for 5 star hotel.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, from the ginger/lime sorbet on arrival to a lovely gesture when we left. Our room was spotless, serviced every day to a very high standard. Pool area was lovely to relax in and the library a perfect quiet area to rest.

We arrived on 8 August night at 830pm. And, my family was ushered to the Cabana while I parked my car. The whole check-in process seated in the Cabana and served with complimentary sweet ice in small cups and wet hand towels was a sweet and memorable experience for us as a whole family.
Do keep up with such a warmth reception.

This place is great all around. Great location, great and friendly staffs, beautiful buildings, cozy rooms, awesome live bands. The only thing you might have a problem is getting a reservation especially during peak seasons.

Staffs are all very helpful and friendly. Always warm and greet with a smile. Really feel welcomed & we all enjoyed the 3 nites stay. Housekeeper didn't replenish our toothbrushes on the first & second day and we had to call in and ask for it. When it is possible to re-use the toothbrush, we too need the toothpaste; and also, housekeeper seemed to miss out replenishing one of our tissue boxes too.
But overall, the housekeeper was doing a great job making the room clean and tidy. Varieties of breakfast buffet seemed limited though.
All in all, I'll highly recommend this hotel to any one who is visiting Melaka, given it's location, services and awesome river view (if you take a room with a view).

My family and I definitely had a wonderful time in staying in your lovely hotel and we definitely would like to come back again in the near future. The best moment when we arrived during the check-in, we were surprised with the welcome refreshment. Very good idea of checking in the hotel guest. Also the room itself was excellent, very spacious in all the areas and very clean and well kept facilities in the room. Most pleasantly surprise was the warm service by all the staff in the hotel. To family and I, everything seems to be almost perfect if not perfect except for the price for the room. If only the management would consider nice and good reasonable package deal on a regular basis, we definitely would like to come again.

It's always a joy to think of Casa whenever a return trip to Melaka is materialised. It's exactly what they had always advocated "coming home". The breakfast is amazing with the wholesome spread and impeccable service. The room is comfortable and splendid and there is always the gym and pool for a quick workout.
Yet this time when I specifically had booked through the website, acknowledging the constant reminder to return for a surprise (maybe a small discount or so), i was denied this - being told to book through the email or call their malaysian number.
I guess, novelty of guest does come to an end - I am merely just one of your many numbers passing through.

If you want the charm of a beautiful Hotel in one divine UNESCO Heritage town then Casa Del Rio delivered it all. From the moment you enter this hotel, staff are accommodating and welcoming. Nothing is too hard for them to serve you. Congrats to management and all staff . Our 6 night stay was truely unforgettable. Special mention to AS. When a desert late at night could not be found, you found it and made it happen. The little touches of room fold down, cleanliness, breakfast and late night drinks in your bar served by excellent staff made out trip.

Casa Del Rio is right in the tourist focused area and about a 30 second walk to Jonker street.
Several great cafe's are close by along with many tourist hot spots to visit and learn about the area.
The hotel rooms and large, comfortable with good amenities.
This is my third time staying at Casa Del Rio with my wife and we both will be back!

The place looked so interesting and inviting as we entered the open and airy reception area: the pool, the fountain, the river at the end of the pool and four seating areas around the pool surrounded by water on three sides.
Checking-in was quick. The room was a good size, the bathroom was clean and there was a separate space within the room with a cupboard to store all our bags and clothes.
We had dinner in the restaurant downstairs and asked for a table by the river's edge. The view was fantastic! You could watch the traffic on the Sungai Melaka while enjoying your food.
There was a decent selection available for breakfast, but the range was limited compared to many other hotels I have used in Asia.
The WiFi connection was not that reliable.

Cosy room and very conformable bed, including those day beds. Great service and very nice staffs. Breakfast is a little before expectation, lack of variety and the menu is repeating for the next day

The stay here are one of my wonderful experiences. The services that are provided by the staff are top notch. 5 Star experience that pampered the guest staying here making me remembered this time and hoping to revisit again.

Staffs were so friendly that they allowed us to use the rooftop swimming pool and to park my car after check out. We desperately needed a place to hide away from the afternoon heat. It was detrimentally burning out around 1PM. The room was also spacious and the bed was larger than normally a king-sized bed.

I have been to Melaka for many times but this was the first time I stayed in Casa del Rio. Christmas season is a great time staying in this hotel, with all the Christmas decoration. Check-in was a brief. We were welcomed with cold wet towel and a little cup of very yummy refreshing ginger lime sorbet. Our room was huge with a big balcony overseeing Melaka River. The sweet lady who brought us to the room gave a very detailed explanation of every single details of the room. Very nice and friendly staff. The toiletries are lovely. They even have bath salt and a handmade caramel soap bar. The bed was very comfy. Semi buffet breakfast was good. Love their coffee. The location is fantastic, just a super short walk to the night market. Their rooftop pool is an infinity pool which is amazing! We haven't had a chance to enjoy the bar this time, but we'll definitely be back soon!

The rooms are large and clean with wonderful furnishings, as well as spacious shower and tub. Get the room with the view of the river - it's worth it! The places of interest like the Heritage Site and Jonker Street are all walking distance from this place. I will definitely stay here again when I come back to Melaka.

The room was nice but it had a weird smell to it. Not unheard of though since the smell of the river isn't pleasant. The breakfast was decent as well.

Stayed there a week ago. Room, bed and service excellent. May be a bit pricey compared to the hotels on Joker walk but still enjoyed this place tremendously. Will definitely stay again.

Great hotel with big clean rooms.
Wander around the hotel and find the smaller secluded swimming pool overlooking the Melaka River. Nice hangout place.
Hotel is walking distance to Jonker St. and Hard Rock Hotel.

We have only eaten here not stayed. We have had many a Sunday Lunch here and have also enjoyed special Christmas meals. The quality of food was always exceptional
Without doubt the staff are as nice as you will find anywhere and will always go the extra mile for you. For example, my wife does not eat meat and the Sunday Brunch had no fish dishes. A word with the waiter and we were told 'no problem' and a special meal was cooked just for my wife - at no extra charge.
Likewise at Christmas they carved me a large portion of turkey to take home for Boxing day. Again no charge made
