The A&W franchise was brought into Malaysia in 1963 by Mr and Mrs Lie Boff from USA. The Lie Boff family opened their first outlet in Jalan Tuanku Abdul Rahman making it the first fast food outlet in Malaysia. This was followed in 1965 with the first Drive-in restaurant in Petaling Jaya.

A&W Malaysia was bought over by KUB Malaysia Berhad in 2001, with an aggressive expansion drive to revamp and expand its reach.
Today, A&W Malaysia has over 36 outlets throughout Malaysia and planning to increase its number.
With the certified Halal status for all A&W Malaysia products by the Department of Islamic Development Malaysia (JAKIM), our team is committed to providing customers with the finest quality of food, a satisfactory service, a warm and welcoming environment which all products are produced under the strictest hygienic and sanitary condition.
These commitment and dedication will be the mission of our operations and supply chain management as well as to show our appreciation to all Malaysians for their support through the years.

A good alternative to KFC fried chicken. Chickens are served fresh from the fryer and signature Coney dog and root beer float are still highly recommended

Service always slow. For the same price, i can het freshly cooked food that's as good.

Ordered a root beer float and curly fries. The fries were really nice, less oily and tastier than Macdonald's twister fries. The root beer float was served in a chilled mug, but the scooped ice cream was really weird - it was like cardboard or powder, it wasn't creamy and didn't seem to melt. I'll order the curly fries and just a normal root beer next time.

Apart from the coney dogs and root beer float, the rest of the menu is a bit disappointing. The batter on the fried chicken is very hard, as well as on the onion rings. Just go for the coney dogs meal set if you're craving for A&W, especially if you're from across the causeway! 😉😉

Incompetent staff. Food is no where near the usual A&W standard. No waffles. Curly fries were soggy like mash potato. Disappointing experience.

Root beer served in warm glasses instead of frozen ones, long lines... no thanks. I'd rather buy from hypermarket & drink @ home.
