Horrible experience with Toba Transporter!!
The itinerary provided is not real,the driver was not willing to bring us around and only half of the places are covered.
The driver is a very heavy smoker and not considerate,he always open the window and reluctant the switch on the car air conditioner.
The 2nd day we are in Samosir island. He only bring us to 3 places out of 8 places, and send us back hotel at 1pm!! Actually still some places was not covered, but he said will cover it on 3rd day,in fact 3rd do not have time to cover it and he jus pass by the places without letting us go down. We tried to complain to the his boss,and his boss also refuse to let him bring us go around.By right they should bring us around for 12 hours,and somemore he always tell lies and said no petrol,the place not nice!!!

Stay away!!! The driver was late by 5 hours from the agreed time without any notification or even remorse. He also was very lazy and did not want to drive us to our targeted destination. When I made a complaint to the agent Ricky asking for compensation for the drivers lateness, he was so rude and insulted us as poor bule backpackers! Don't fall for the fake TripAdvisor certificates and manufactured reviews

just use their service...i should believe the bad review ..
day 1...book 2 innova but one innova lost key....we stuck in airport for one and half hours and waiting them to find key until me offer to self paid anouther taxi to hotel. ask the taxi fare rebate..they ask us to find anouther transporter....so un responsible. ask to sent for dinner...the driver mr lam ask me to request this service from office and give him OT before proceed..fianlly i give up...we settle our self.
day 2...suppose not enought time to samosir island but still bring us to the car ferry harbour that need extra 20 min more ..just to show us that is imposibble to get in to ferry.than redirect us to passenger ferry habour that need anouther 20 min.when we in the passenger ferry it already 5pm...in ferry only told is the last ferrt comeback to parapat is 6pm....what for we sit in ferry go and back if so rush.
ask me to book a room for them to stay a night ..but suppose their accommodation should be realdy by toba transporter..i refuse to do it
day 3 maybe because i dint provide them a comfortable few star room...they show us black face... and skip most of the POI...they only fetch us to water fall and berastagi.....than back medan...we reach medan at 4pm
their service only as below
day one..airport hotel...wasted us 2 hours becouse wait them find key and we still need pay 150k for taxi our self
day two 9am to 8pm but wasted out time that travel in car
day three 9am to 5pm..same....
total costs is rm 1582..two innova with those service
my comments: pls avoid this company
to toba transporter..pls dont deny..i have all ur what apps msg ...

Terrible experience with them. Bought us for mamak for lunch only and always try to persuade us not to go to the tourism spots which require admission fees. Wont recommend to others. Hope you all can see my post before it being deleted.

This is how helpful he is:
1. Good time management
*we managed to get in the ferry to samosir, not much waiting time.
* he knows well all the ferry timetable to n fr samosir island. We managed to take the earliest ferry to parapat. He asked us to check out hotel by 6am.
* all the places r all covered.
2. Knowledgable
* he knows good places to take photos. He brought us to places which r not included in the itinerary Like Simaranrunjung etc.
* willing to share any info whatever he knows.
3. Helpful
* we hv booked HotelPandu Lakeside, but there was no water. He helped us to find another hotel which is money value n nice.
* he picked up us to hiking place at as early as 4.00am which made him not enough sleep.
4. Responsible
* good care taker to all our family member especially to elder n kids.
5. proactive
* helped to contact Smiley the hiking tour guide at the 1st day upon our arrival.
* willing to provide help even u don’t ask for.
We r very blessed to hv him w us for the trip. He was lucky to get back his hp before our leaving. A good person should be blessed also. You r lucky to hv him as he also take cares of other drivers. Sometimes a problem-solver, a consultant etc.

A good,reliable tour agent in Medan. Good new cars,polite drivers and smooth operations for our 7days trip in Medan through lake Toba. The price is very reasonable. We must give a big thanks to Ricky,the owner.. He solve every problems(only a few) efficiently and fast. 6 days 5 nights is just nice for us to discover Medan, Lake Toba and Berastagi!
First day on our own by walking to discover Medan and the local street food.
Took 5 hours drive, 2 hours ferry to Lake Toba! It’s a long journey but worth it!
The lake and the island are beautiful and peaceful!
The view on the way to Tele is fabulous! At Tele, we’re able to catch the full view of the lake. Thank you our transporter Pak Zul to stop us few times one the way to catch some nice pictures and keep entertaining us through the journey!

My family and I were interested to know about the Batak culture. Hence decided to make a trip to Medan Lake Toba. Quite clueless on how to plan our trip, I googled and came across tobatransporter on wikitravel. I whatsapp the number and very quickly, Ricky answered my queries and arranged our tour according to our needs, under short notice. We were flying to Medan the next day.
We enjoyed the trip to lake toba and berastagi very much. Our tour guide Pak Jojo was accommodative and patient and shared the history the Batak people, their culture and the places we visited. We visited Samosir Island, Hot Springs, Stone Chair, Sipiso piso waterfall etc. We felt safe throughout our trip.
