If you are a torist dont expext to much indonesian food since most of what they sell is japanese food, hype food( like es kepal). The bigest upside you meet lot of local people here. When they 1st open a lot of traditional stuff from gift, food, and games. Now days semawis look like typical mall food court with less stuff.

So many option modern/traditional, western/eastern, food/drink you can enjoy for night hungry attack. Price, taste, and portion fair enough. Be careful if you cant eat haram food. You should carefully between halal and non-halal food. It maybe difficult if tou want to go there using public transportation, its better if you go there using taxi or ojek.

Wow. They say if you go to Semarang you must go to this night market. And boy, I went there on Saturday night on a long weekend and its fully packed! Its so crowded it almost impossible to find a table and you have to eat on the street, literally. It really needs improvement, local goverment should add more tables and even add some more space so it won't get too crowded. Plus side, all dishes I tried is very good. Its not very cheap but not expensive either. Prepare to spend 50 to 100 k a person if you want to fully enjoy the culinary variety here.

I came around 7pm on Friday and there were many locals around but it wasn’t too crowded. Plenty of local street food options here plus a few Korean, Taiwanese and Japanese ones. The Sate Ayam stall was fantastic.

You can find a lot of different food here. It has javanesse food, korean, chinese, japanese, arabian, and italian. Most of them are appropriate for snacks. But it also provide meal such as fried rice, fried noodle, a lot of kind of barbeques, satay, fruit salad and many more. It's also crowded in weekend. The parking area is not really in a good condition. So, sometimes it can obstruct the main road and cause traffic jam. So I recommend to use online transportation or just walk to go here.

Semawis Market Gg Warung Semarang is located along the street gg stalls. Open every Friday to Sunday at 6 pm to 11 pm. There are so many culinary vendors selling a wide variety of foods, drinks and snacks. If to Semarang you should visit this Semawis. Otherwise you are not to Semarang. There are pork, chicken, the most delicious resoles in Semarang are also sold here. His name is Mama Resoles Kitchen that can be made souvenir from Semarang. If it rains, do not come here, but if it's not raining, it's very crowded here.

Semarang China's town. Be careful for Muslim travel, some of them sell non halal food. Ask them before buying something.

This is a huge street dedicated for food and drinks. Don't come here when it is raining though as it will not be comfortable as it is full of puddles.

Worth a visit if you are looking for something to do on the weekend. Food quality is average, and the seating is limited. Also, there's not so many Chinese food stands. Hmm. I usually go for the pork satay or the mixed fruit plate.
Unique Unicorn (14/01/2017 04:31)
There are so many food you can choose here. Start from salad to sate babi, from ice cream to korean dish, you can get it here.

Max Darmawan (10/08/2016 00:46)
A melting pot for Semarang people with wide range of culinary delights.
A bit crowded at times, though
Kevin Widjaja (20/06/2016 04:02)
This place is a little bit too crowded and the seats aren't enough for everyone.. Price are also a little bit expensive but still okay.. Food tastes moderate.. Not recommended for families with young children
Suyandi Liyis (22/04/2016 02:29)
Open every weekend night. Variety of foods available, especially Chinese foods. If you love food you'll love this place. It's huge.
Basilius Prabawa Brodjonegoro (20/02/2016 17:14)
It's a night market full of food stalls. The food varies, but overall it's a great experience, especially if you're not from around here!
It starts to come alive at 7PM, so no rush!
herry kuswanto (01/02/2016 23:40)
Warung semawis @semarang , opening only friday , saturday and sunday , 6.00 PM
Stefanus Sugiarto (02/12/2015 12:39)
A night market with many foodstalls offering variety of culinary selections is the best way to describe Waroeng Semawis. It's only open during the weekend at the hours of 6pm til drop, which is usually around 11.
Prices are reasonable. It does tend to get very crowded at around 7 to 8. It makes it hard to secure a table when it gets busy. So either arrive early, or arrive late if you hate waiting for a table to become available.
