If you are looking for a place where you are cared as family, where the food is delicious, everyone who works here is super helpful and friendly, kind and loves kids then you most certainly need to stay here. Bedrooms/villas are super clean and equipped with everything you need.

Yabbiekayu homestay is a truly magical place. We wanted to have authentic experience in the end of our trip to Java and we couldn't imagine better stay than this hidden paradise just a bit outside of Yogyakarta city. Vegan breakfast upon request, I still dream about that delicious food we had there everyday. Bungalow itself is just stunning, designed to the smallest attention to detail like yoga matts, earplugs and even a mini-bar which is stocked up with all the cravings you might need while staying and obviously the famous outdoor bath waiting for you after long walks around the city. Surrounded by paddy fields it was amazing to see the small sustainable farm full of organic fruit and vegetables growing just outside your door. Me and my friend were warmly welcomed by Babun and his team, and they were making sure that we are happy with everything throughout the whole stay. All of the staff members are the sweetest and kindest people, always smiling and happy to help yet making sure you have the privacy you need. We had a pleasure to meet even the owner Dave who shared his knowledge and experience living in a local Javanese village. If I ever go back to Yogyakarta I know I would stay at Yabbiekayu and recommend it to everyone! Thank you for a beautiful and unforgettable memories we brought back with us from Indonesia and for running this little oasis so we can all runaway from our daily lives and worries to enjoy some peaceful time.
Note: One thing to consider, try to avoid religious celebrations as there are three mosques around and you can hear prayers early morning.

We spent 2 magical weeks in the natural and peacefull place of yabbiekayu. The more we got to know the homestay and the team the more respectfull we were about how precise and helpfull they attentions were. Each detail from the plants to the ponds, from the breakfast to the food dressing and all the work the whole team made offers us an unforgetable trip. Take your time to visit all the wonders of jogja and surroundings with yabbiekayu as home, it really worth its 5 stars!!!

Without sounding too over the top, Yabbiekayu has got to be one of the most unique experiences I have ever had in Indonesia. Jogja is a very special place, and staying with Yabbiekayu is really what brought it to light. There were many examples and moments that allowed me to truly appreciate what we got as guests – even more reasons for me to recommend this place. Just to mention one example, my fiancée contracted strep-throat after a lengthy plane travel to Jogja. We are Canadians without medical benefits in Indonesia, and we had asked Yabbiekayu staff to direct us to the nearest clinic. We were given options, meds and antibiotics were very important, but also the property already had all the natural ingredients to create some of the most effective remedies. Babun arranged for us some teas for my fiancée to help her feel better – that made the biggest difference. I must say, Yabbiekayu achieved above target the homestay title.
Special thanks to Christy, and Astina for arranging transportation, and bespoke requests. It was really a pleasure to get to know Dave; he is truly kind-hearted and really there for people. I appreciated all of the talented and great people on site – there’s no doubt I will come back to Yabbiekayu. Hopefully be back to give in return!

I was going to stay for a short while at Yabbiekayu bungalows then find a house to rent in Yogya, but after experiencing the Arcadian lifestyle, the delicious breakfasts, the super-friendly service, the village environment with happy free range chickens and ducks, I decided to stay for 2 months, maybe longer.
It's away from the rush of Yogya city but there are plenty of things to do. I couldn't resist getting involved in yoga, night jogging, film nights, martial arts, swimming in the nearby hotel pool and just relaxing on the Bungalow deck watching the rice harvest and drinking Ibu Narsi's awesome cappuccinos, reading the Tempo magazine.
This is the life, my friends. Perfect!
