The room was really good. We book a private room for 6 people. It was very spacious. The staff were so friendly and helpful. The breakfast was awesome. Totally satisfied and will come again for sure!

Very nice staff, helpful & always up for chat. Free delicious breakfast and AC in all the rooms. Good location. Good atmosphere.

What an amazing place to stay. Mattresses are legitimately comfortable, the air conditioning in the dorms works well, the breakfasts are more than toast and the staff goes of their way to help you with onward travel plans and are happy to book train tickets, plan your Bromo trip etc!

By far one of the best hostels I've been to in the past months I've been traveling. They are reasonably priced and you get back more than you pay for! Clean rooms, clean bathrooms, good facilities, reat breakfast, tea and coffee all day and the sweetest of staff who want to help you with anything, from booking flights and trains to renting scooters and get to places to eat. (and they got free maps!) Will come back for sure!

Very good place to stay. Easy for booking some tours. The staff is very helpful and friendly. A lot of young people and very lovely place. Restaurants and supermarket around the hostel. You can walk to some interesting places around. Stapelbeds are a little bit loud and the door is not completely to close. From this reason it is good to bring your earplugs with you.

Great and memorable experience with Ostic House. The staff is so friendly and helpful. The room is nice and tidy. Very very worth it for its price. The common area is spacey and airy. Love the unlimited water, tea and coffee. Small things count 👍very recommended when you're looking for a budget place with great service

Very nice and cozy hostel with spacious rooms and a comfortable common room. However, the best of the hostel were definitely the people who worked there. They were all extremely helpful and overwhelmingly welcoming, they recommended places to visit, helped us arrange tours and even sang one of us happy birthday and got us cake. If you are looking to stay in a more of an affordable place I would undoubtedly recommend ostic house.

Ostic is an amazing place to stay at. The staff are super friendly and great help with any questions you might have. I've been back a few times now and will always be my choice place to stay at whenever I'm in Yogyakarta. Highly recommend Oskar's hostel!

In my 15 years of backpacking, Ostic House is one of the very best hostels I've ever stayed in. It is well-run with a lot of attention to details.
Besides clean rooms and common area, good toilet and showers, substantial and delicious breakfast, and clear and useful info about the surrounding area and the city - the things you expect from a great hostel, below are 3 aspects I am most impressed with (all free of course):
1. All staff greet all the guests by their names - my only experience in a hostel, something I thought only 5-star hotel or top airlines offer their best guests
2. They can book train tickets from the front desk. This helped my onward journey a lot
3. If you have specific questions about traveling in Java, the staff or Oskar the owner, can provide very detailed and good recommendations. Some of them even remember all the train timings by heart.
- Try asking "How to go from Bromo to Ijen?", a tricky scenario involves multiple transfers and advanced bookings.

My first hostel and I loved it. Staff members are so friendly and they make you feel home all the time. If you sit and start chatting with them, you will pass days. Best thing, on the first day they will sit with you and calmly explain you all about the Yogyakarta city. Places to visit, to eat, rent scooter, etc. Btw one foodie lives here so everything is sorted. They will rent you bicycle also if you tell them in advance. Amazing experience overall.

One of my favourite hostels. The rooms are clean, beds are comfortable and the atmosphere is fantastic. The best thing about this hostel is the staff, they are so kind and so helpful,.

The staffs are all super friendly and they give excellent information on tours and how to travel around Yogyakarta. The hostel is also very clean and the services are convenient and fast.

Incredibly friendly and patient staff who are always willing to give advice, there are boards all over with helpful information about the local area, they arranged a car and guide to take us to dinner when we were exhausted, and the whole hostel somehow smells of a delicious chocolate smell! Lovely place, definitely recommend!

Fantastic hostel. Lovely, helpful staff who took us out for a great evening on a Saturday night. Breakfast free and delicious. Good location near loads of nice restaurants, cafes and bars. Only grumble was that the air con was centrally managed and they kept turning it off so I had to keep going to ask for them to turn it on. Beds were really big and comfy.
Tip:
Go to K-Meals bar and ask for Beng Beng, the best local tour guide there is! Spend a day with him and see the real Jogja.

Such a lovely place to stay! The hostel goes out of it's way to make sure that you have a great trip. They give you plenty of information about what there is to do and where to eat etc. Also breakfast is included in the price and it's delicious!

The most friendly staff that you can imagine can be found there. Lots if good list of point of interest that can be found in area are listed in there. They can help you to reach each of them. They offer wide list of services, such as daily driver, guidance, landry, book a ticket for the transport you want. I recommend this place to everyone who want visit Yogyakarta with low budget and best impressions.

Enjoy every single corners in the guesthouse. Not hotel, not hostel, is a 'home' in this unfamiliar city.
Good explanation, good service, warmth and cares delivered (solved a lot of our questions and problems throughout the days).
Recommended for everyone who travel in Jogja.!

Best hostel I've ever been! Prior to check in, the staffs were very fast, responsive and helpful through the email correspondence.
Our stay there was fabulous. We got the family room (at a really cheap price) and it is super cozy. The staffs provided super helpful suggestions for meals(with detailed maps), offered to help book for tickets and tours and even helped us to plan our itinerary. They provided really good breakfast with a mixture of western and local food too!
The location is also really convenient. You can walk to several tourist spots and they have stores and food stalls around the perimeter. Highly recommend this place to everyone! Very considerate service and we feel really at home here. Their service is just way beyond what we pay for.

Incredible service on everything! Booking, tours, restaurants, scooter hiring, and simply the nicest people. Full hotel level service at hostel price. Couldn't ask for more. Great location too.

I'm usually the kind that hates to be told what and how to visit places, and like to ask the questions myself. Than I discovered how insanely complicated is visiting Java when you want to do it without booking packages. If you like to explore every option to have the best trip adapted to what you want and like, you don't know it but you need to go to this hotel ! The people there has been the most patients and helpful people I have ever met, even thought we have been terrible complicated customers (both bank cards lost, scooter issues, travels absolutely unprepared, random need of taxis or phone calls, 3am breakfast, etc) the people there are definitely responsable for how amazing and smooth our trip trough Java has been, and made our stay and visit of Yogyakarta fantastic. I rarely encountered a team this qualified and effective at doing what they're doing.

I came near to midnight with my family and their staff very helpfull and friendly. Good coordination, I book via email with other staff weeks ago and the on duty staff already has the record without hesitate and giving us feel secure and comfortable. Due I leave the house in early morning before the kitchen open, they provide the simple breakfast for us to take away. Very considerate and flexible I found which I rare to find this kind of service from other guesthouse. The place is very clean also the room, towel, and blanket. Ostic House is a homestay but the service equal to 4 star hotel. The ambience is good with many positive quotes hanging on the wall which impact to us by feeling of life balance and feels like home.
The restaurant surrounded the guesthouse, easy to get the restaurants and convenient store infront of the guesthouse. The location is very good, near to Sultan Palace. Reachable by walk.
Their staff knowledge about road condition is very helpfull, I was having hard time to book go-car/uber and they assist me to find better transportation to reach train station so I did not miss the train.
I do high recommend to stay at Ostic House while we are in Yogyakarta.

Suasana nya nyaman...
Dan malah banyakan bule nya pas kita2 nginep disitu.
Oia... Karena check in nya jam 2 siang... Kalo nyampe di jogja nya pagi..mending jalan2 dulu ato nonton.

A very great Hostel with very very helpful and friendly staff. Very clean and big rooms and comfy big beds. The owner Oscar and his team all speak English very well and always help you arrange your plans and bookings.
Oscar even drove us to places for free when we were in a hurry and always gave us great advise (on prices, risks, potential scams etc.)

Very nice and quiet hostel, free breakfast is realy good. Also the location is good, in middle of the tourist center. Ostic offers a lot of (free or normal priced) services and the staff is very helpfull. I would totally recommand Ostic. ..

Although initially hard to find, this was a great place to stay in Jogja. The staff are knowledgeable and were super helpful with trip planning details. The room was comfy and had ac too. Breakfast is included and very good. You find free tea and coffee at all times. It's about a 10 minute walk to the Plenkung Gading Trans Jogja platform and took about an hour and 3.6K idr from there to the airport.
