Don't you love the idea of a restaurant growing its own vegetables to prepare the dishes you're gonna enjoy? Welcome to Warung Palau Kelapa then.
Food was very nice. I had such a delicious noodle soup. Yum.
Lovely and helpful staff.
We just went there during dinner time missing this way the lovely view of the garden/farm. Highly recommended to go for lunch instead.

Great variety of flavours and textures in the menu. Relaxed, they created a good atmosphere. Went with two snacks and a main dish and didnt dissapointed me. A truly awesome discovery after some unfortunate choices in the center of ubud. Worth the walk.

Excellent location for food.
Before the start, was introduced to take a walk at gardens. Realised, some veg cooked were from the well kept garden, all fresh. The signboard in the garden says it all.
Had the opportunity to visit the compound
Had sampling dishes which was fantastic. Spoke to the chef, which he mentioned for all the food served, there's no preservatives or MSG added.
There's an dessert shop in the compound. Do try the coconut ice cream.
Highly recommended!

Very tastefull Indonesian cuisine, in a serene and lush setting. Try the lontong (sticky white rice) with your Nasi Campur, and wash it down with the delicious Cendol (local drink). Also a good place for lunch or just a snack.

Good taste for indonesian local food and reasonable price

Good food and zen place but they are winning the worst service award. No menu offered until we asked. No order taken until we came up to the cashier. Been waiting for our food for 30 minutes... And counting...
Finally we left without any food served.

Wonderful setting and a menu to match. Thoroughly enjoyed the ambiance and food - all 4 courses!

The place is beautiful. Especially the view to the organic garden and the organic garden itself. Food was good but nothing special. We had Nasi Campur.

Very nice place with traditional Javanese ambience, and the place is huge! They have an organic garden, and the restaurant have both interior and outdoor setting. Ordered Iga Babi Bakar (must try!), Sate Ayam Madura and Iga Sapi Penyet. Really love the pork ribs, so juicy and has a strong asian taste! Don't forget to order Sinom for drink, freshly made of sweet tamarind, turmeric and rock sugar. Recommended!

The beautiful authentic food taste I had there. What I really love is TEMPE MENDOAN and green juice which is from their organic farm just behind the restaurant.. So nice and will be back again for dinning time if I miss Java.

Great atmosphere and good service. However, it took too long time to get food at here. Kitchen is too busy and I had to drink 4 beers with mosquitoes for 1 hour to get just one noodle. Food was tasty but portion was somewhat small. Lucky to fill my stomach with beer before. Recommend for people who have a lot of time.

Great food with a magnificent view. The coffee was exceptional and has a fun rice field behind where foodies could go see where the restaurant's organic plants are grown.

Stunning, unreal setting in the back which one simply would not assume when arriving at the roadside entrance. Food absolutely gorgeous and menus to entertain you with background stories of Bali cuisine and culture. Just lovely. The gardens are amazing and the farm behind it is exceptional.

Good food, organic veggies from own farm, reasonable price

Delicious food, very comfortable setting. Came here for dinner and enjoyed listening to the rushing river below. Order the beef rendang pandang. Sit in the area at the back, near the garden.
Matthew Curtis (13/07/2017 11:14)
Delicious food and great views! The staff were very attentive and friendly and the gardens out the back are lovely to sit and enjoy.

This has become my favourite restaurant in Ubud. We had soups and desserts and all four dishes were tasty, with the right amount of spice for our liking (not too hot) and well presented.
The menue is like a book, beautifully designed with lots of information about Indonesia's cuisine and history.

Highly recommended!

We spend 4 days in Bali and tried 6 restaurants, this is the only one that my family will definitely return for the local food. Less than 50 usd for family of 3.

Great place for lunch or dinner. Interesting old Javanese building, good selection of tasty Indonesian food. Separate building at the back overlooking organic garden. If you have the time talk a walk through their gardens at the back, well worth it, wonderful views etc.
Colin C (05/04/2017 01:11)
Local cuisine done well. The smell of the charcoal BBQ cooking a variety of satay greets you when you enter the rustic wooden building from the street. Authentic look, feel and flavours

Good Indonesian food. The service was good, prices are good. They have a beautiful garden that you can walk through and look out onto the paddy fields, really beautiful.

With my wife tonight had Mahi Mahi wrapped in banana leaf and grilled duck. They were both superb, spice levels were perfect. The staff was friendly and knew the food.
We will go back there. Great Indonesian food in a classy restaurant at half the price of the place just up the road.
Carlo Suijkerbuijk (14/02/2017 11:11)
The real authentic cuisine. definitely go see their own vegetable and fruit garden, surrounded by the rice fields.
karin gleichner (15/01/2017 12:30)
Beautiful place with a garden in the back that can be visited. Highly recommended for the Balinese Rijsttafel. Other dishes are a bit small and pricy.
Karolien Geers (10/01/2017 06:02)
Fantastic food. We also enjoyed the terrace and the beautiful garden.
First time in my life I have tried goat, really nice.

We went back after last year's visit. We were still impressed with their food. This is our favorite Warung in Bali so far. The Indonesian dishes are unique and delicious! The decorations are traditional and nice. They serve a wide range of good coffee too!
Anna Richardson (07/09/2016 05:23)
Tasty, good quality authentic Indonesian food. The beef ribs are great as are the fried bananas with coconut and brown sugar syrup.
Łukasz Gajewski (02/09/2016 11:05)
I really like very spicy dishes but here I had a chance to try a dish which completely destroyed me :) Fried riced mixed with chicken and shrimps which had inside around 25 hot chilli peppers. That dish was mind and mouth blowing :)
Jack Eastes (01/09/2016 08:48)
Five stars if you get the beef ribs, four stars if you get anything else. Also really loved the outdoor seating area and the daily fresh vegetables plate. Several of the chicken dishes were less than memorable...

Warung Pulau Kelapa is one of restaurant that serve mostly Indonesian dishes, located in Sanggingan area, Ubud. And the owner is same as the owner of Setia Dharma Mask & Puppet at Tegal Bingin area, Ubud.
The atmosphere is great, authentic Indonesian ethnic design, mostly Javanese influenced. They use Joglo (Javanese house) for the main building, very nice. You can choose to sit in the Joglo terraces, inside the Joglo or in the backyard with more beautiful view. Very nature....
The Indonesian food is very good, better than most restaurant food in Ubud with Indonesian menu. The price is very affordable (please don't compare with street warung). The service very awesome, very polite, very friendly and very helpful, two thumbs up for them.....
Perhaps if you miss the cuisine of Indonesia in Ubud, you give a try at this restaurant .....

Cozy place with very nice Indonesian food. Offers nice view and opportunity to explore their huge herbs and plants garden.
Brad Parker (03/01/2016 11:20)
Very good Balinese-style food, with very friendly staff. But beyond the food, the place is an experience, with a fantastic expansive garden surrounded by local rice fields. Take a few minutes after what will be an enjoyable meal (and good ice cream and great French press/siphon coffee) to stroll through the garden and marvel at what is only 150 meters from the busy street outside. Worth a trip. And my kids loved it too - strongly recommended.

Good price, food and ambient.
Got variety of Indonesian drinks/ sweet with ice.
However, we got the same unfriendly waitress for 2 days in a role. She usually made a face, a bit rude and didn't explain anything. Very sad we got to order and pay with her. Other staffs who served are much nicer.
Their ginger beer is nice. For spicy nasi goreng with 5 levels, I suggest 1-2 is nice enough. I ordered 4 and regrets it (I can eat some chillies fresh though).

Had an amazing "Tahu Telor" vegetarian plate there.
Recommend this restaurant in the area of Ubud, really good value for money.
