I asked for the tuna curry (main) and the dumplings platter (starter). They were out of tuna and out of dumplings. Then I went for the tandoori chicken (main) and the nachos platter. They were out of guacamole so I cancelled my order for nachos. The chicken dish was tasty diced chicken and rice with salad, but it didn't really seem like "tandoori chicken" you'd normally expect. O sat on top floor. Decor and furnishings were basic. Not sure why they have so many great reviews here on Google? I'm not celiac so I imagine I'm just use to higher standard's or maybe the restaurant was just having a bad day.

Great menu, portion size and taste, interior, wifi and great service with the bell. They asked me if I had any allergies (!!!) which I liked. :)
Everything gluten free

Food was wonderful. I was amazed that they could make the buns gluten free like they did. (They’re not Any sort of western style bread. Definitely different. But very good). I would definitely go back again and try some of the deserts. Be aware - they do not take cards at all. Cash only. And parking is a beast. It’s very hard to find a a spot and if you’re parked in the wrong area, the police can and will tow your car/motorbike. Then they’ll charge you a few hundred dollars (US) to get it out. So make sure you park in a good area.

Big portion, price is worth it. But no so much with the raw cake. Yummy food.Good place to hang out. Eat,chill and relax. Artistic place. Love the interior designs.

Awesome healthy food and super friendly staff

I think this place is a bit overrated. The prices seem quite high. Would’ve had the chicken bravure or the restaurant but I think it was about 85k? So passed on that one. My tofu and pumpking panini was all cold. Most likely will not go again. There are so many places to eat in Ubud.

Cosy restaurant. Great Schnitzel . Big portion. The mash potato, could be a bit better.
Great stuff.
If you have enough of Pizza, Indo or Asian food give it a try. You won't regret it.
I from Austria, the country is Schnitzel

You cant find another Better place to Eat Schnitzel in the Whole of Bali than this place has got.
Hamburger & Pork Ribs are a Feast Here !
The Staff is Extremely Friendly & Courteous and suggest you with the Best they have got !!!
Great place to come with Kids too! However I doubt about the Wheel Chair accessibility & entrance.
U hardly have parking space for a Car. But bike can be parked right across the Restaurant.
Will definitely recommend to everyone who is in and around Ubud, Bali !!

Wonderful meal tonight at House of Schnitzel served by very happy and attentive staff. I am coeliac and gluten intolerant and the range of items on the menu gave me many choices of delicious food.
I highly recommend it as a culinary experience for both coeliac and non coeliac.
William.

Love this place! Great food, great atmosphere, and great wifi. It looks like a coffee shop at first but they have amazing food and smoothies.

Good menu choice. although food rather bland. tried house specialty of large pork schnitzel. good portion sizes but no taste to the schnitzel.

Great food. Something different while traveling in Bali. Awesome casual atmosphere. Large portions for the price

I believe this is a gluten free cafe but we only ordered drinks. I didn't like my mojito and I would not recommend it. It was nice sitting upstairs and enjoying the view of Ubud but I wouldn't come back again.

I hadn't been to House of Schnitzel for several years and after a very decent dinner last night I wondered why?
The non smoking area on the first floor is pretty tight with 2 small tables and one larger one but comfortable enough. The service was friendly and efficient, both of us ordered the chicken breast schnitzel which came as a very generous portion, was well cooked, tasty and tender and very good value. I particularly appreciated that they offered filtered water in a glass bottle at no charge - I wish more restaurants would do this instead of creating more plastic waste by insisting on selling water in plastic bottles. Recommended.

Amazing and inspirational owner, Delicious food, all gluten free so as a coeliac it's extremely reassuring to eat here. All veggies are washed in mineral water. The dark choc banana muffin is divine and a must! Thank you!

The snitzel was perfect, the food came very fast and the sauces were delicious. If the French fries portion would've been twice as big, it would've been perfect.

What a gem! Doesn't look like much crib the outside but it's a cozy little place with great food. Based on recommendations I got the tuna green curry and was not disappointed. I also got the beetroot juice that was lovely. Excellent rooftop terrace.

First things first, the staff here are delightful. Alert, friendly and helpful.
I had been recommended this Warung by a friend and liking schnitzel, decided to try it out. Normally I am not a fan of eating western food in Asia but this was really good.
My choice was the 180gm pork version with fries and side salad. You can actually order the 90gm version and it comes with a Bintang! The schnitzel was cooked perfectly, only let down by the weird mustard sauce, which appeared to be all mayonnaise. The side salad is not worth the effort - couple of bits of lettuce and bits and bobs. Stick to the main event guys!
They also have a Happy Hour which operates 'every hour' with cocktails for 39,000 but my mojito was rubbish.
Worth visiting? If you like schnitzel
Fee: reasonable 180gm plus mojito 136,300 incl tax and service charge.

We only tried drinks late at night but were very disappointed by the Pina Colada and Strawberry smoothie. We took a sip and thought "That's not how this works"...Sugar, ice cubes and cream with a little aroma...just sad...

Very nice place, inside there's much more room then one would imagine.
Staff is friendly and food is good and reasonably priced.
Why would you want to eat schnitzel in Ubud, that's another story :)
Nikesh Bhakta (02/02/2017 12:40)
Get the curry...As I write this I crave more of it. It was creamy, savory, and refreshing all in one dish. The creamy coconut milk is mildly placed within an array of Indian and Balinese spices. The chicken breast was tender and flawlessly cooked, and the green beans refreshes the palette so you can experience it as if it were your first bite. They don't cook with salt but the dish had a perfect flavor. The staff was smiley and happy to help. Cannot reccomend this place enough.

MARA, the dynamo who runs this place, is as passionate about good food as it's possible to be. She now has a 100% gluten free selection as well. Clean, funky, friendly and delicious food: we love this place.
Russell Lean (06/12/2016 03:53)
Mara certainly has created an exceptional restaurant in Ubud. This picture is of me and Billy a guy we met who insisted we go to Schnitzel for dinner. We have been back again and again every time we go to Ubud. Amazing food, great location. Head on up to the 3rd floor rooftop room and enjoy!!
Ya Am (03/09/2016 01:52)
Fully recommended!! This warung is best in Ubud. We have eaten here two times. The Green Curry is very good and a big portion. Its very tasty with tuna.
Also the Burgers are very juicy and delicious.
Prices are very good !
Jacqueline Kelleher (28/06/2016 09:41)
We had a vegetarian curry and a meat curry and both were delicious! Well worth the visit. We also had 2 drinks for the happy hour. However, our Singapore sling had too much syrup in it and tasted more like skittles.
sarie heemskerk (15/06/2016 03:12)
The place for gluten free food. They even guarantee it to be safe for coeliacs! Check out their desserts, lasagna and order a loaf of bread for you to nibble on during your stay in Ubud.
cédric copol (11/05/2016 13:10)

Best food we had in 4 weeks Bali. The green curry is amazing. Stirred fried tofu also. The watermelon juice is very refressing ; you get a big portion as well.
Mike Sanders (22/01/2016 12:03)
Delicious schnitzel! Perfectly crisp and great meat. Service was delightful. Curries were also really well done. Highly recommend this restaurant.
Luiz Zanini (10/11/2015 07:21)
Nice, but slow, service. The cocktails were not very good, but extremely cheap. The food, on the other hand was VERY good. Their specialty, the schnitzel, was perfect with the homemade sauces. The upper floor has a cool view of Ubud.
