Love love love! Loved the food, the mood, music and the staff! Flavors are Indonesian but mixed in such a fusion way that makes them pop much more than traditional asian flavors! Definitely pass by have some sliders or tapas and dessert! Highly recommend it!

I have no idea who Chris Salans is, but he does make good food. Balinese Fusion style restaurant; food was flavorful and the staff was lovely. Restaurant was quite small but nicely designed.

This place is just something really special. It offers delicious healthy western style foods, just made of Indonesian ingredients and spices. Believe us, this misture is amazingly tasty!!! Just see some of the dishes we had and tell us you'd not wanna go there!!

The only place that should be called Shut Up and Eat! Oh..my...living..God. the food is so incredible and the service is off the charts. Why this is not packed and overflowing I have no idea. If we were in NYC, I wouldn't even get a place at the bar without waiting an hour. The flavor palate and great atmosphere make this place a "don't miss" in Ubud. It is centrally located for most shops and is very cozy and cool for an escape from the hot sun. I absolutely LOVE this place and will be looking for his name everywhere I go.

Love this chic place in Ubud, Balinese fusion with very cool interior design, especially loved the lighting. Ordered a 4 course set menu which was quite nice to have when I was not that hungry. Portion wasn’t big which was great if you enjoy having varieties of food. Went in the afternoon so I didn’t try the cocktails. Will give a try later on if time is allowed. Price is reasonable given this is owned by Chris Salans. If you can book in advance you should probably give Mosaic a go too. Pity that it’s a bit too lat for me this time

Yummy cocktails and good pan-Asian fusion food right in the middle of downtown Ubud. Both food and cocktails are a little pricey, and the drinks seemed more worth the price to me. The place is pretty small so get there early to get a table.

Though expensive its a good visit for a fancy dinner.

Interesting and tasteful ambience with spices as the main theme. Great Indonesian dishes with a twist. Beautifully arranged dishes and yummy juices. Beef noodles and fried tapioca root are must tries. Service is slow though and they ran out of rice!

Located at Ubud main road, Spice by Chris Salan is small restaurant with nice interior design. The owner is Chris Salan, also owner of fine dining restaurant called Mozaic, so he is famous 5 star chef indeed....
If you ride a car then it's almost impossible to get a parking lot in this area, so ask someone to drive you or came by a foot or scooter.
The food is good, small portion but delicious. The service nice, friendly staff and full hospitality. The price? Not cheap....but don't forget this is Chris Salan's restaurant, that mean something....

Amazing food, no comment. Signature cocktails are a great addition. One of the best gems in the main street. 600K IDR for a 2 person meal with cocktails

Portions are a bit on the small side, but the food and drinks were all really good. Would definitely recommend.

Good food, quite pricey for the given portion and quality tho. We ordered the lobster, but it looks like crawfish?

Love the food! It's not cheap but worth the quality and taste. Small menus.

Had the crispy pork belly, beef tartare and tuna tartare. All were amazing and would come back again just for those dishes. Cocktails are also delicious.

The food are nice, staffs are good and relaxing place to eat.. The food came out fast enough, everything was good. Unfortunately, when I was eating, suddenly there were some pieces of Styrofoam came out from the AC above us.. and the staff quickly took action and turned off the AC.. So far, so good... 👍

An excellent combination of western cuisine and Indonesian exotic spices, in a way never experienced before.

Great food and friendly staff. The server took the time to explain each dish and drink as it was served. The portions were small but it allowed us to try multiple things on the menu. I thoroughly enjoyed everything that we tasted. I would definitely recommend going.

Superb food, all staff say hi and goodbye together which was surprising when we first came in, but made it a memorable place. Had the chicken salad and the vegetarian dumplings, both were a treat for the taste buds.

Excellent food but a bit on the expensive side. Nicely presented and the staff were friendly. I particularly enjoyed the vegetarian dumplings.

A hipster restaurant in the heart of Ubud. Prices are fairly reasonable although more akin to European prices than Indonesian. It's great food though, fresh, tasty, interesting. The staff are friendly and attentive. Atmosphere is trendy. It certainly makes for a nice change when in Bali although the food is worth going for regardless.

The foods are great, I personally like how they managed to include local Indonesian spices in each of the menu. Drinks are also unique, they also incorporate the spices in it!
The staffs are also friendly and knowledgeable.

It was wonderful we ordered every vegetarian item on the menu and it was absolutely mouth watering; we had to visit the restaurant again to get our head around the flavours. I LOVED LOVED the chef's use of local spices and flavours - it was definitely a toungue exercise 👏👏 if you are a food-explorer like me you should definitely stop by and give it a try. Trust me the dumplings are to die for.. three dishes cost us around 200K without drinks

Absolutely wonderful. We didn't want to stop ordering. Each dish was brilliant. Vegetarian dumplings were the best!

The food was exceptional, the service friendly, accurate, and efficient. Really great flavors, excellent cocktails, not to be missed. The torch ginger sorbet is AMAZING! Sure it's more expensive than other places in Ubud but this is not your typical warung. GO! Thanks especially to Rani for her excellent service!

We ended up here by chance and we're really happy we did. The food was superb, great flavours, and the staff extremely friendly. As its tapas style, the menu recommends 2-3 dishes per person. We started with 4 dishes for my wife and I and we were pretty stuffed. Casual dining, highly recommend.
Andrew McNally (02/09/2016 14:16)
Gourmet Indonesian food served tapas style. Top quality food & by far the best we had in Ubud. Resealable priced too.
Amy Kim (13/08/2016 14:44)
Our main courses (2 different kinds of lobsters and beef) were extremely salty! The pork belly was ok, just the sauce was a bit too sour. We ordered several main courses as they recommended to have 2-3 dishes per person. Didn't like the fact that they brought several main courses at the same time, by that way they didn't really let us the time to enjoy the food since we had to dig in faster than we usually do in order to avoid the food getting too cold. We both hated the banana cheesecake! The food overall was not what we expected and it was not cheap (we paid over 800k rp). The only positive thing is the staff taking some time to explain the menu to us when we were the only customers there, but when others arrived no one took care of us anymore.

Recommended for those who seek the elegance of spice in your meal. A bit pricey
