Impressive collection of masks and puppets from around the world. The museum is well organized in different rooms (masks, puppets, local, foreign) you can visit what interests you most. The entrance is free but they receive donations, which are well deserved.

This place is amazing because it’s in the middle of nowhere and far away from tourists. I was its only visitor today and I even got to take a nap overlooking the rice terraces. The masks are amazing. I’m so glad it’s so quiet and peaceful there.

Excellent location to see traditional puppets, mask etc. This museum ie well kept and curated. See to believe.
Do ask for someone to guide to better appreciate. The best thing is not that entry is free but the vast collection displayed in a few buildings. All are authentic not fabricated.
Although some items are not carded, most are.
After the visit, do have a drink at the cafe. The breeze is refreshing.
Highly recommended location.

The setting is the most serene in the area. Lovely grounds with antique houses to display the unique collection of masks and puppets. What a gift to the people in the surrounding villages who are the mask makers in Bali. This is my fifth trip to Bali, this is my favorite hidden treasure.

In a beautiful setting, this museum makes for a delightful visit, close to Ubud. The grounds are vast and beautifully kept. Dotted amongst the beautiful gardens and trees are many magnificent old Javanese teak houses that have been re-built to house the vast collection of masks and puppets. These were all well displayed and maintained, with well-written descriptions. The Balinese masks alone are worth a visit and they are just a small part of the collection which has masks from all over Indonesia and other parts of the world. Admission is free and you will almost certainly want to donate to help the museum continue to display its collection as well as it does.I was truly delighted by our visit.

The best museum I’ve been to in Ubud. Beautiful collection of masks, puppets and shadow puppets not only from Bali and Indonesia, but also from all over the world. The setting is gorgeous: a set of old wooden buildings in a nice garden surrounded by rice paddy fields. The museum is free but they accept donations. Highly recommend.

Amazing masks & puppets collection. Very well-maintained garden & gallery. Nice space for performing arts indoor & outdoor. I love the outdoor amphitheatre (whether there's any performance or not).

Extraordinary collection of masks and puppets from around Indonesia and some from elsewhere, all housed in the most beautiful buildings from Java, situated in lovely grounds.

This is a must-stop when coming to Ubud. More than 1,000 masks are exhibited here. As it looks no group tour visits here, it is quiet enough to enjoy viewing them. Highly recommended.

Not so famous because of the location in Tegal Bingin, Ubud. You must use map or Google map to locate the location....
Perhaps it's the best museum Bali, for the cleanness, hospitality, collection and environment preserved. You park your car and walk to the stair, down to the compound of traditional Javanese house called Joglo, most of the joglo is original, not reproduction, very impressive collection of joglo! Walk in calm and relaxing path from one joglo to another. Inside each joglo you can see the collection of mask and puppets from all over Indonesian region and some from Africa, Myanmar, Thai etc....they maintain the collection and the joglo very very good and professional.......
Anoother great thing of this place is, everything free, no ticket entry, no parking fee, just a donation box sit at the last joglo, you can donate or you can keep your money, your call.......really awesome....
Back to the parking area, there's a small coffee shop, you can sit and drink coffee from Indonesian.......wow......

The most unique thing in Ubud. Overwhelming experience! Most of other museums here are hyped and pricy, this one is really dillerent.
Masks and puppets from various parts of world artfully displayed in nine large traditional wooden houses with antique furniture.
No entrance changes, but you will love to give a donation!
Very good campus with coffee shop and lavatories.

Rich and impressive collection of masks and puppets from all over Indonesia and the world. Set in a beautiful campus with traditional Javanese building, this place felt much more authentic and was much more informative than the mainstream museums like Puri Lukisan, which charge exorbitant entrance fees instead of asking for a voluntary donation as done here.

Great place to visit when you pass by Ubud. Large and very interesting collection of masks and puppets from Java, Bali, and other parts of the world. Not to miss. Facilities includes a small open-air restaurant with good local coffee.
