Moved here after the staff of the previous place sent us here after many complaints of the previous place.
This is most likely the most silly designed place ever! It's situated in the most beautiful area you could possibly imagine yet due to its design does not profit at all from that location!
I had a private villa with private pool. To explain what this looks like:
It's a plot of land in the middle of the rice field with two buildings on it. 1, a bedroom with attached shower, toilet, bath and outdoor shower.
2, a living room with tv and kitchen.
3, pool area.
Unless you are sitting in the living area, you will not profit from the amazing views! This area is however not air conditioned.
The bedroom is nice but overall poorly constructed. The staff does an amazing job however to make it look great! There are very few power outlets and if you're in the bedroom and the phone rings, you will have to grab your keys and go to the living area to answer it if you hear it...
there is a pretty big bathroom but almost no space to put anything. The staff even puts amenities like toothbrush etc etc in the bedroom. There is very little ventilation in the bathroom so basically towels will start to smell.
The outdoor shower is moldy and mossy so I didn't even give that a try!
The bathroom is built facing the rice fields but you won't get to enjoy that from the room as it's all blocked off.
The plunge pool area is concreted in and with no outside lights working, it's really dark! Also the animation program of the neighboring villa just does not do this place justice! It was noisy! And that's not why you come here!
Breakfast is situated in a nice location and is reasonable.
There are a few local grocery shops walking distance and a few eateries but the road is unlit and can be dangerous if you don't carry a torch.
Rooms were cleaned daily but the trash not emptied.
There are no taxies here so you either have to arrange it in town or through the hotel.
I would not recommend the latter as they overcharge you massively! I do understand that businesses need to make money and that even with what they charge it's not too bad but that's comparing to a European standard.
100.000 for a 10 min trip and pickup to tegalalang seems excessive since the driver was not waiting but went back to the hotel to resume his duties yet I had to pay for a full hour while it was a 2x 10min trip for him! This while a quote of 50.000 was given but revised after. And te trip to my other location was a 45 min drive but they charged me for 3 hours! Hotel policy they said...
The staff does really try to make your stay welcoming and it would definitely not be their fault that you would not enjoy it here! They are soooo friendly!
