Absolutely Beautiful hotel, such lovely friendly staff, who do everything possible to make your stay as pleasureable as possible.
Food and breakfast buffet delicious, rooms lovely and the view over the pool was incredible. Little goodnight gifts of cookies and chocolate were a lovely touch and they gave us a special cake for our honeymoon and other treats. Cannot go wrong with this hotel

This is third time we stay at Plataran, everything about this hotel is wonderful. Such as friendly staffs(especially manager Widi and her lovely staff Yuni ), delicious breakfast and room is clean and comfortable with nice view. Especially, here also offer many interesting free activities every day. We highly recommend people this amazing place.

Wonderful resort! Exceptionally well-run. Staff very courteous and helpful. Great breakfast. Close to major attractions and museums, as well as quaint restaurants and cafes. The grounds are very large and it can be a hike uphill to get to your room. They will take you and your baggage in their golf cart if you want.

Really nice hotel. Friendly staff and great breakfast. Most of the rooms offer beautiful views of the rice fields in front of the hotel.

Choosing this hotel is an easy choice. Positioned in the central of ubud, makes you easy to find almost everything. If you choose to relax, just stay at the hotel and watch the rice paddy field.
We hope to stay here another time soon.

A lovely place to stay in. The hotel has various free activities to do for us that likes to stay in the hotel enjoying the view. The room we had was offered with a wonderful view, very different than Kuta. Lots of greenery and the air was very fresh. The food was delicious and the staffs were attentive and helpful.

Lovely, attentive staff - small but perfect sized rooms - hotel close to bars, restaurants , sights and a mini market.
Nice pool and fitness area.
The massage at the spa was great! I am sure you'll get it cheaper elsewhere - but it was totally worth it.

What a fabulous place to stay in Ubud! The grounds are gorgeous and tranquil. The service and staff are top notch.. always wanting to please. Afternoon coffee and treat is a lovely touch.. and the latte/cap is fantastic. Two large pools and massage/spa facilities are also great! Extremely satisfied with what this hotel has to offer.

This place is awesome!!! Everything about it was great!! The staff was very welcoming and pleasant to deal with. We left something in the room and they were more than accommodating to get it shipped back to us. Food was good, the pool and property was well maintained. I would recommend this place.

We stopped here to check out the rooms. It was very nice but the staff was not as friendly as the other places and the walk to the rooms was SO long. We ended up booking green field hotel instead as the price was much better, as was the room

Came for dinner... Not staying.... The service was ridiculously slow and the food was mediocre at best.... Worst nachos ever. Chef obviously hadn't read the recipe book. Seriously better places to eat

Nice presentation, friendly and helpful staff and beautifully maintained gardens. Lose 1 star because of the incessant noise of bamboo wind chimes

Very nice hotel. The entrance is on the main street but the rooms are well back facing rice fields and are very quiet. Lots of activities and breakfast is nice. Location is good not grear, close to the monkey forest but most of the main attractions are a 30 minute walk along a busy street.

Beautiful place and great villa, but average service. For the price service should be exceptional, which is clearly not. We stayed at the 3-bedroom villa which was really far from reception and not easily accessible. It was quiet and relaxed but you have to walk a lot on the stairs up to reach the villa

Extremely friendly staff and very nice atmosphere. Often have live music on, so worth stopping by.

Although they messed up the airport pickup, their service and quality were really good. It's was a very comfortable stay.

The hotel's view is very awsome.
And people are so kind.
But the bedclothes smells little.

It has a pure touch of Indonesia, beautiful scenery and complete package of facilities such as swimming pool surrounded by trees, jogging track and great-view from room

Love the service and the view from our room of the padi field is gorgeous. Would like to suggest better quality breakfast. And would be nice to refurbish the bathroom.

Great time here, staff is really nice and the spa is amazing.
Only minuses the swimming pools were closed 3 days "for maintenance" and we had a really bad smell from the piping in the bathroom they couldnt eliminate for more than couple hours

Great staff, good food, great view, good atmosphere. Location not in center but not too far (2km approx). Can rent a bike to go around from hotel.

Even not located in Monkey Forest, but this hotel has a very walk-able location. Just walk out and you'll find many good restaurants, walk a little while and you'll reach Monkey Forest attraction, go walk along the road you'll find a lot of shops in central Ubud.
The unique concept is, you must walk through their restaurant to reach the reception area, nice.....the restaurant is good, a lot of live show performing there.
The pro is:
- Beautiful design hotel with touch of luxury taste.
- Amazing hospitality, very nice and friendly staff
- Nice view from the pool or from your bedroom, depend on the room...
- Big swimming pool, they have 2
- Very nice and clean room, with every features in it.
- Bathroom with a full set of amenities, towel etc.
- Big TV
- Welcome fruits, and in the Ramadan season, you get an extra snack in the afternoon.
The cons is,
- From lobby to your room is a bit far, or from your room to outside is quiet a distance.
- No parking area, if you use vehicle then you must use their valet service. and will take time to get your car, when you need it.
- Balcony outside you room is so tiny, you can only stand at it.
- If you book without breakfast, then they'll charge you very expensive breakfast price if you want eat there. Rp 150.000,-/person? Really?
The room very very good. Clean and fresh, everything placed right. Bathroom is small, but it's very very nice and clean, everything well organized. Just enjoy without complain...
When you check-in, they will take you to your room with a electric buggy car, because is quiet far. But they do everything to make you comfort, very very good services. I think it's not so expensive rates if you book from travel agent for hotel like Plataran. If you like everything modern with a little traditional cultural taste, then Plataran is your choice....

I went to the spa and had an amazing massage and experience. We then had lunch at the restaurant overlooking the pool.

***** 5 stars ***** We stayed in the 'bima' villa with our own private pool. The Plataran is the fanciest place to stay in Ubud and being only 2 years old it is very clean and tidy. The staff were all so polite and friendly. The food at both restaurants is world class. One of Platarans drivers Pasek took us on a tour of the local attractions and temples. 2 pools, gym, yoga, day spa. Everyone that works there speaks english. I hope to visit again one day

Service is pretty good, but it's still new and they seem to be learning

We stayed here from 24/7 - 31/7 2015. I really love this hotel! The people are so friendly. Because we had a special family arrangement, there were some nice extra's included like, a driver for 1 day, 1 hour massage at the spa for the whole family, 1 free dinner and cooking lunch with the chef cook of the hotel (we really enjoyed that!!). Every afternoon there is tea served at the back terras, overlooking the rice fields. The rooms are clean, the breakfast is nice and complete and the staff is doing everything to make you feel relaxed and comfortable. My daughters and I took a batik class. This is not done at the hotel, but at the reception they can make arrangements for you. A very nice trip that you will remember for a long time is the mountainbike tour. At the reception they advised us to go with 'green bike tours', and that was a good advice! We had a great day! Monkey forrest is just around the corner of the hotel and there are also a lot of shops and nice restaurants near the Plataran hotel. I would definitely go back to this hotel again!

The rooms are a long (lovely) walk back from reception. There are two buildings with rooms and suites that looked really beautiful. The dining room where breakfast is served overlooks an infinity pool and rices fields. The room was lovely but I would have preferred individual bottles of shampoo, etc. The ceramic ones provided were not particularly easy to use and the conditioner was never replenished in my room. Breakfast was standard and free wifi was decent. The hotel was undergoing some major renovation just after we left and was due to have a grand reopening. Through the hotel, my friends and I booked a driver for the day, Mr. Wira. His English is excellent and he acted as a guide as well as a driver but then more importantly he has become a friend too!
