Around a one hour drive from airport, and is within comfortable walking distance of the centre of Ubud township. This elegant resort and spa is set in a quiet mountanious area, high above two river valleys and surrounded by rice fields. The spa is something special as well, don't forget to try Maya Sari, Signature restaurant with indoor dining and alfresco service on the terrace.

Friendly professional staff. Special mention for the chap in the fitness centre, good advice about our next location for running and cycling. Hope his ideas for a safe outside jogging area/circuit near the resort work out, it would certainly be a nice addition. Spa pool area very restful and nature walk was fun to explore. We saw a fairly large monitor lizard.

Unique resort crafted in the jungle only a few minutes from Ubud centre. The "Deluxe Pool Villa" room is absolutely stunning, highly suggested.
The resort has 2 amazing infinity pools facing the jungle (the one near the spa is also facing a river). The food is good (they also have gluten free pizza available at River Cafe), while the staff is prepared and accomodating.
A must go if you're visiting Ubud!

A lovely, secluded 5-star-hotel in the midst of a jungle! This was our first, one-week stop during our honeymoon on Bali, and we had a great time to relax after the stress of the wedding! As honeymooners, we got a flower petal bath and a dinner with sparkling wine as presents from the hotel. Every evening a different event was planned for dinner. The afternoon tea, which is in the price of the stay, was fantastic - delicious, freshly prepared pastries and tea, served every day on the terrace overlooking the jungle. Interestingly, we prepared for a moskito nightmare, but we had literally two moskito bites after this week - although we spent most of the time outside! Amazing! The pools were clean and most of the time we could find free sunbeds there. As a present we also received a free Balinese massage in their fantastic spa at a river, which was great. One can also take aa awesome nature walk through the jungle, at a river, with a waterfall and tiny hidden temples - still on the hotel grounds, but in a huge area, where you meet very few people - after an hour or so of Indiana Jones style walk you climb up the hill and see the haven: the Spa and Poolbar of the Maya :). Not far away from the hotel (5 min by taxi, which are very cheap on Bali) the village of Ubud is placed, with hundreds of shops and fine places to eat. From the Maya one can take fantastic day trips to the more northern, mountain areas. All was great! The only thing I can complain about: we had a pool villa, which had a Balinese style tall roof. I had nothing against that until one day of our stay a huge (60 cm) lizard FELL OFF the ceiling and dropped just next to my husband, in the middle of the room! Which means it had to be there the whole time as we were very careful to keep our door closed. We both rather like lizards so it was not too bad, but the ceiling is unfortunately very tall and many animals can hide there, especially if the guests leave the door open in the evening - which leads directly into the jungle garden (where nature dwells :)). Since then I was afraid to get out of bed in the middle of the night as I am afraid of spiders...the door to the poolvilla is not tight at the edges, so big (ca. 2 cm) holes can let moskitos and other animals in. The air conditioning in the pool villa was VERY strong and it was very cold in the room when it was on - one could not regulate it and it blew lunges of cold air onto us...otherwise all was great!

Maya Ubud captures the definition of paradise like no other. The resort's vast amount of land is surrounded by lush tropical rainforest and the infinity pools will take your breath away. We loved everything about this resort from the amazing breakfast buffet to the excellent service and friendliness of the staff.

No words can explain how much I adore and love our stay in Maya Ubud. I booked a deluxe pool villa for two nights stay. It was magnificent. The property itself is tucked away from the buzzling central Ubud and the lush natural surrounding as well as the well-maintained gardens and pools makes the whole area relaxing.
On the moment we passed the security gates up to the reception are where we checked in, we were welcomed by some of the warmest and most kind staff.
Everyone was helpful and kind. And the breakfast buffet, which for me was the highlight, was stellar with sumptous selection of both western on one side and asian/indonesian buffet on the other.
Definitely the best hotel i've stayed in Bali so far. I'll always look forward for the time i could stay in Maya Ubud again in the near future :)

If you seek a quiet place to relax in a 5 star environment, that is your choice! Staff was very friendly and the garden Villa was the best hotel "room" we ever had. Fresh modern but still a traditional balistyle small Villa. The infinity pool is great. One day we come back.

Pros:Beautiful Hotel, Friendly Staff, GREAT breakfast.👍
Cons: The pools were too cold and the rooms doesn't have any plug in in the bathroom to hairdryer and it was very difficult to get ready in the mornings.

An amazing resort in the heart of the cultural capital of Bali. The resort is huge and has villas with private pool. Great place for a spa therapy overlooking the river. The food is also good. The resort has many activities to keep its guests occupied.

It's a lovely resort with amazing spa facilities. It's big and at a walkable distance from the city center. The swimming pools have amazing views. The highlight is the lunch picnic by the river side which has a surreal setting.

You will feel relaxed and pampered staying here because the resort's atmosphere is magical& serene, staff attentive& professional. Loved the soothing sound of river flowing through rocks whilst we were at one of their pool bar/ restaurants. Feeling rejuvenated, will be back 👍🏻

They can brag about how great they are and I will fully support it. Maya Ubud is the definition of tranquility, you can call it a hidden gem too because it's not located in Ubud's town but once you go a little bit deeper you'll be mesmerized by how huge the hotel is. Love their customer service and my villa is wonderful!

Stayed 9 nights. Staff were friendly and efficient, with the daily morning Yoga a must.
The grounds are amazing and have marked pathway's around the resort. The buffet breakfast (western and asian) were great. The shuttle bus to town works well, we walked home one night - an experience in itself due to the narrow roads and traffic.
The resort has outdoor dinner and traditional Balanese dancers.
The only criticism is that the night time restaurant food was bland.
Would recommend and will return.
We have recently returned for a second stay. The food was better, but not good value. Better to go to town on the shuttle bus and get a 50,000rp taxi back. No outdoors dining or dancers this time - not peak season. Will return again to this fabulous resort.

The river side Spa is wel worth the hefty price tag! Had a 2 hour full body massage and foot reflexology and really enjoyed it. Perfection to detail, beautiful location, lovely massage. If you can afford it, treat yourself to a massage here :)
I have no experience with the hotel. Way out of my budget. But you can enjoy the facilities when you book a Spa treatment. Bring your swimsuit and take a dive into the infinity pool near the river, order a fresh fruit juice at the terrace (quite affordable) have a long massage you'll love it.
