Best Nasi Campur in Bali! They make great freshly cooked meals regardless but my God it really is next level!
I love how low key it all is too. This place retains the same aesthetics (and prices) of Penestanan before the likes of Alchemy and Elephant swooped in to scoop up the hipsters.
It really is the quintessential Penestanan experience

Food had multiple long hairs all through it. When we spoke to the staff, they took the meal away and didn't offer any apology or compensation. Staff were very rude and became aggressive when we told them about the hair and that one of our other orders was wrong. Refused to accept their mistakes. Incredibly frustrated and disappointed.

Fave Warung in Penestanan for nasi goreng, mie goreng, cap cay, satés, snacks, or even a beef steak! Dessert of steamed banana is an institution! Have been eating there consistently during visits to Bali for almost 20 years.

Family owned, ran and has "the best food in town!" Made is very modest but she should about it from the roof tops. Very personable and genuinely interested in conversations with guests. Her English is pretty good and is a great story teller. Love.

Probably my favourite Warung in Ubud! The owner is very friendly and the food if fantastic, cheap and the portion sizes are generous. Very inviting little restaurant, I can’t wait to go back.

We have tried lots of items on the menu. All of them have been great. Super cheap prices fresh and tasty local and Western food. We have been coming back very often. Also pay no attention to the 1 star review as all resteraunts in Indonesia charge 10% tax as it is required by the government.

Local flavor! Tasty, affordable, secluded but nice view. I had a sweet lassi and mix vegetables with rice, simple fresh and good

Thanks to Made (the owner) we spent a very good time. The food is good, price are cheap (40k) and he is very lovely. He helped us to find the Blanco Renaissance Museum, the cane sugar in the Bintang Supermarket and he told us about ceremony in Bali and great beaches to see ...

Food was great and cheap. Staff was super nice, it's a family business.
I totally recommend the place.
4 stars because they took 45 minutes to serve the food.

Great food, really good service, the prices were much better than in Ubud itself. The setting is lovely, up high in the trees above the laneway.

Wow, amazing food! I had the nasi campur vegetarian, the tempeh is one of the best I've had here in Bali! 35K for the dish, reasonable pricing. Highly recommended! The atmosphere is great too, the only pity is that the construction is a bit loud across the street.

Made's is a lovely place with very good food in Penestanan. Salad with carrot, pineapple and cucumber is highly recommended )

I dined here with five friends. Made is charming and entertaining. Everyone was happy with their meal selections. The food was beautifully presented, we were served ample portions. My go to dish Gado-Gado was mildly flavored and tasty. The fish special was spectacular. It was served with lately sautéed fresh coconuts and salad.
We all agreed this is our new favorite place in Ubud, Penestanan. And it's easy to find at the top of the Cambuan steps.

There was a hair in my food but they didn't say sorry first just pretended. Chicken was hard to chew the other meat too. Wasn't fresh at all. Orange juice also no taste... They charged 10% tax as well. I was stupid to go there.

Super average. Nice setting and nice staff. Western orientated local food. Won't be coming back again.

OK food, very inexpensive but nowhere near as good as other reviews made it sound. Avoid the potato salad.

Several generations of Ubud visitors and expat residents have very fond memories of the famous Made's Warung in Penestanan. Several generations remember the quiet, homely atmosphere; the high terraced position over the rice field views; the stroll after dinner in the moonlight, either back down the hill past the Nirvana resort, or up to see what Lala & Lily had to offer in their range of home made cosmetic creams, incense and essential oils, or even simply back to the stylish and comfortable accommodations provided by Ibu Made herself. Unfortunately those days are gone, and now exist only in memory. The unstoppable Balinese frenzy of building has infected even this beloved little corner of Ubud, and the rice field view has been obliterated by the massive and noisy construction of a three-story hotel directly opposite the revered old Warung. With Bali's ever-diminishing tourist numbers, we wonder where the future hotel's guests will come from. It is sad to see such wanton destruction of what made Ubud worth visiting, and to witness the spiritual centre of Bali descend into the tourist rippoff ethos of Kuta. But please do visit Made's Warung, and savour the romantic tragedy of it all.

HEAVEN. A true paradise walking along pathways to find a table under a bamboo roof, with zen features, and lush greenery all around you. Amazing breakfast, lunch, dinner, at authentic Balinese prices. Other aspects are still rustic, but I am forever haunted by meals there.
You have to find the massive steps in Tjamphuan/Champuan/Campuhan or taxi knows "the big stairs/steps". Wayan Karja's art studio is straight ahead on the right, Made' is on the left.

Great friendly family run Warung in a tranquil setting. Highly recommended
