Good food a bonus but the real highlight was the serenity of this cafe. In the heat & traffic the lotus is an oasis. The staff are particularly warm, efficient & attentive. Menu covers Indonesian specialities plus western. Alcohol, smoothies, fruit juice available to quench your thirst. There is typical restaurant seating available or you can sit on bamboo mats under cover from the sun alongside the Lotus Pond. Definitely a welcoming retreat from the heat, crowds & traffic.

Very beautiful scenery, decent food (though I have had better in Ubud). The downside is the price. It was by far the most expensive place my wife and I ate while in Ubud (including the notoriously expensive hotel we stayed at).
If the food and service was phenomenal, I would have rated higher, but it really wasn’t anything special. We ate better food all around at many places (some even less than half the price).
I gave 3 stars mainly because the scenery was nice and food was of good quality overall. But I honestly would not recommend it. There are much better places with equally nice seating that I would recommend first. It was rather disappointing.

Tasty food good atmosphere but you have to wait at least 1 hour to get your food maybe more.

Really wasn't a good spot. A beautiful view of the temple. But that is really all it has going for it. The prices are average, but the food was poor. We had chicken which was dry and over cooked and Nasi Goreng, which we have had better a local warungs next to the road. Also we waited forever for the Nasi Goreng. The glasses for ice coffee and juice are tiny compared to the price you pay. Really not worth it. You can go to the temple for free and get the view withouth having to pay for average food.

Gorgeous view, only had morning tea so can't comment on the food. Staff were lovely

Affordable price with a nice view over a lotus plants over the ponds

Just the lotus pond and the Balinese temple inside the vicinity is well worth your visit. A 5* WOW attraction indeed.

The view here was amazing and the staff curtious. The local red wine was surprisingly good!

The service was a little slow and unorganised... But the Indonesian Spring Rolls and Pumpkin Soup that I had was fantastic. Especially the pumpkin soup... Flavour explosion! Highly recommended trying it, I'm going to try to recreate it back in Australia.

Really pretty grounds so well worth a visit just to be surrounded by that. They also offer traditional dancing in a big upstairs room at 7:30 every night. Arrive early for a better seat.

Delicious food, nice staff, beautiful place, amazing interior and not expensive meals.
Hiba Alhejazi (28/10/2017 11:43)
Food was very plain and standard compared to other places. Don't bother ordering any soups they taste just like ready made meals from supermarkets. Overrated.

The manager needs lessons on manners. Past his time, please retire to make this restaurant a success.
Dont speak about customers as they are walking to their tables (we are tourists). Otherwise. Its amazing. Sorry.
Bruce Taylor (27/10/2017 04:38)
Decent coffee at an okay price, great view into the temple
Helen Stone (02/08/2017 19:18)
Nice place to sit with view of temple/ruins and water. Very over priced. I had sea bass and it was the first bad fish I've had in Indonesia. Very minimal dishes so not very filling.
Susan Cullen (31/07/2017 13:38)
The show was lovely, even if it wasn't that authentic as some say. The food, on the other hand was terrible. Overcooked, greasy, expensive and underwhelming. Skip it.
James Pellizzi (25/07/2017 23:25)
The staff was nice, food is okay. They have a nice view of the temple, and you can watch the temple dancing at night from the restaurant, but it's pretty far back...might be better off going in to check out the dance and then come back and eat after (or at a different restaurant)

Exactly the kind of place that is very famous but should be avoid : crowdy, poor service, the drinks we purchased were not good (a lassi with more water than yogourt) and I saw them waiting on the counter during 5min before being served to our table. Ok the surrounding is amazing but very expensive and even no wifi ...
Brave Science (25/06/2017 05:15)
Beautiful place but extremely touristic. The view is very good but do not expect to find the real Bali here.
Customers are foreigners that can afford the high prices for food and drinks. i.e. a tea pot (commercial bag) is 27-30k Rp.
On the up side it's quiet and relaxing, service is polite and careful to your needs.
Emily Riesenweber (28/04/2017 01:58)
Good food, reasonably priced, excellent friendly service! The cafe features various seating options, you can enjoy the lotus flowers and temple view sitting on cushions on the floor or if you prefer chairs, they're available as well. Clean bathrooms.

Food not so fantastic. If you are interested in culture/heritage.. perfect setting for dinner with cultural experience. Show starts at 8 pm. Time yourself.

Nice eating place adjacent to a big lotus pond and hindu temple. Service and food is average, price is in accordance with the beautiful site. Next door is starbucks for coffee choices
Mike Jones (22/03/2017 07:51)
Nice decor and quieter setting. Posh nosh, so the portions are smaller. Plus, not many vegi options. So the rating is mostly for the view. The gardens are stunning... 😍
Brent Freborg (09/03/2017 00:06)
A decent restaurant in an amazing location in Ubud. The lotus garden wasn't in bloom but it still provided an impressive view. The fact it backs onto a temple and had children learning to dance was very authentic. Food was a little expensive as well as drinks. But it's right on the main road in Ubud and has a lot of traffic and is very popular. Would recommend people to stop by, check it out and grab a bite to eat.
Giulia Sampogna (20/02/2017 09:17)
Place is lovely and food pretty good. I enjoyed the beautiful view of the temple and lake. Price was a bit expensive.
Justin van Schaick (14/02/2017 09:17)
What a great and relaxing location. I had a coffee, a cocktail and bruschetta with salmon here and it all tastes great. Skip the Starbucks next to it and go here for an authentic Balinese experience.
gayle e (14/02/2017 00:30)
pretty location. had the most vividly memorable bout of food poisoning there from the tuna. i was stuck in my room for a couple days, sick and dehydrated. i will never forget this place.
Arini Pancasona (01/01/2017 02:40)
Had very nice brem drink and crispy duck for lunch. The food was nice. The restaurant has nice view of greens at the back. However... there are annoying insects too, ants, flies, spiders, (not harmful) as they are many plants around where i was sitting. Later they put some burning mosquitoes coils
Mousam Majhi (29/12/2016 19:33)
Good food but it is a little costly compared to other restaurants. Not very friendly staff. The hotel has a great view of the Saraswati temple and you can watch the traditional dance from here, just ensure that you book the table in advance. No qualms about the food though.
Łukasz Gajewski (06/09/2016 01:55)
Restaurant with a great view to the lotus pond. Atmosphere is the best thing in this place because food is unfortunately just an average. It's a high priced place with very small portions in comparison to many Warungs or real Balinese restaurants.
Harry usodo (29/08/2016 17:51)
Nice place with nice food also nice service.,
Completely with nice traditional dance show performance.soo..everything is nice.
Pamela Jones (20/08/2016 05:51)
Dined there just last week, was very dissapointed. Very over priced and very small servings. Myself and my friend ordered a Salmon pasta with vodka dish. When it was brought to our table, it was the size of an entree. Could have ate the dish four times over. Left feeling dissapointed, out of pocket and still hungry!!

Super surprised at positive reviews of this place. Manager couldn't give a toss that we were standing there in front of him waiting to be seated, kept interrupting the nice lady trying to seat us. Wasn't that busy but whatever. I could forgive all that but damn... was the food here awful.
It's been a very VERY long time since I was in a restaurant where the food was this terrible. I wasn't expecting much after the managers contempt for customers but I was surprised it was so bad. Food was served cold, an expensive platter for two reheated and barely enough to feed a child (and we both have small stomachs). Two ladies who ordered the same seated opposite us were equally disgusted.
Place was filthy, table and table mats sticky with God knows what and an evening in the hotel bathroom to top the experience off really made me wonder how, or why, this place has aledgedly been open since 1983 as the signage would suggest.
The only way I could be sure that I was eating in the same place as the other positive reviewers was by reading about the pond.
It seems this fast food, microwave meal slingery was blessed with a good location because that's all it has going for it. The food, service and prices are the worst representation of Balinese food possible.
If you're hungry for anything other than slop, pick anywhere else. Anywhere.
Max Kraulis-Breen (29/06/2016 03:07)
This restaurant has a beautiful outlook and lovely eating area. I arrived at 8pm and there was a traditional Bali music performance that ran for half an hour in front of a temple viewed from over a pond. Free of charge.
The food was outstanding!! Amazing curry (would have licked the plate), great salmon taurine and ok spring rolls.
Definatly worth a visit.

I had the Duck Breast here and it very good. They had a show on, and if you get in early you could get a pretty nice view. The portions were quite small and the price was relatively high, but overall a nice place to eat.
Beau Brennan (10/06/2016 07:53)
Arrived at about 3pm mid week and we were given a front row table overlooking the pond with the temple in the background. Stunning view. I ordered the nasi goreng, which was finely made, not too greasy, excellent sate ayam, and pickled sliced carrot and cucumber. It was 55k plus service charge and taxes. My partner ordered the Tom yum goong, which was very ordinary. I would stick to the Indonesian staples to avoid disappointment. We ended up staying for an hour and half. The staff were very attentive and never intrusive, wonderful afternoon experience.
Rayne Du (10/06/2016 05:32)
Really rude waiter. The waiter touched my body and used the world 'let me tell you what to do'. My father wanted to stay a bit longer and the waiter said 'you can go to Starbucks and they open until tomorrow morning'. Nice view but very bad people.

Amazing food with a temple backdrop- no biggie! It's an awesome restaurant.
