The restaurant didn't live up to its hype. I had such big expectations prior visiting this place, but mildly disappointed with the food, it was just a bit overpriced for what the restaurant offered. Service was goods though, so there's that.

Pretty lovely restaurant. Get the local food and you won’t be sorry! There’s a lot of people eating pizza (bad of course) and pasta (possibly OK) which is totally bonkers. Try the local food, it’s delicious.
Unfortunately smoking is allowed, do you might be out of luck and have dmoke in your face while you’re eating. It is manageable though as the restaurant is open air.

One of the best meals I've ever had. Returned to the restaurant 3 times during our stay in Ubud and would highly recommend this place to anyone. By far the best meals we have had in Bali.

This place was amazing, and only a 5 min walk from our hotel. The food was nice and authentic, with very fast service. They have great drink specials, which is what attracted us in the first place. I normally don’t order an app, main dish, and a dessert, but everything was so good. The chocolate turmeric moose was delish. My food was filling, flavorful, and not at all heavy. The ambiance was great, the staff was super sweet, and very inexpensive.

Restaurant looks nice and is at a good location but food is made for foreigners and not really inviting. Service is good as mostly everywhere in ubud but you can find better restaurants down the street.

Delicious food, I ordered the mushroom ravioli off the Vegetarian menu and enjoy every bite! They have lots of good choices and great drinks! We started with the spring roll which was amazing as well! Was only able to capture a picture after I devoured it.

We've been curious to try this place and end up went there for dinner. To be honest nothing special, food is average, price is okay but the staff is very kind.

Rasanya mantap, bumbu nya terasa.
Terutama masakan lokal nya.
Restoran nya ramai, luas dan nuansa tradisional nya sangat terasa.
Layanannya luar biasa ramah.
Juga cepat dan tidak bertele-tele.
Sangat di rekomendasi.

Place was nice, authentic traditional balinese home. Foods were great especially the traditional one. Pizza was not so good, suggestion try the traditional one.

One of the best places for a good dinner in Ubud. The waiters where very kind and nicely. The food was delicious. All the stuff and decoration very nice. I had a great time there.

Delicious! I had viet rolls, fish plate, passion fruit mojito and a dessert. Everything was fresh, tasty and reasonably priced. Great atmosphere and service too 👍🏼.

Staff are friendly and the restaurant is in a typical balinese architecture. Although it has a roof, it opens on bothsides and gives an open air dining experience feeling. I had the grilled fish with balinese sauce which was delicious and very filling!

Very good restaurant, the food tastes very good. Nice portions and good service.
Also cosy atmosphere in the restaurant itself.
If you're able sit in the restaurant, the garden we didn't like that much to sit in.
The price rate is also very good.

We had a nice time dining at Ibu Rai. The food was tasty, fresh and well prepared. The staff was very friendly and tended to us well. My basil pesto with king prawn was delicious, the spaghetti was just a few seconds away from being 'al dente'. My wife ordered the soup. She asked for no tofu, but instead to have a bit more chicken. She got only 3 little pieces of chicken, but after she informed our server, she received a generous position of chicken which she could add to her soup. The place itself is beautiful decorated with franchipan trees, carved stone pillars and wooden doors. You can eat inside under a roof or in the open in the garden. A bit more expensive than most restaurants but still reasonable.

5 stars not are enough, this resto are simy AMAZING. Very nice and professional service, the food; 1 star Michelin, and the place, unforgettable. Without doubts THE BEST RESTO in Ubud City.

OLD FISH!
I asked which of the two fish dishes is most popular, they recommended the 'blackened cod' see photos.
It was so old, it stunk, the skin had pimples already, and they acted coy like they didn't understand where I was coming from for not wanting to poison myself and pay them for it.. they did remove from the bill in the end.
The place has a vibe and of 'give me your money, tourist, quickly and get the f-out, we have more costumers waiting to pay us, hurry hurry'. They rush u. Like you consider yourself luck if a staff member is smiling at you. Rude quick type of service.
It's expensive and has no identity, I had high hopes for the place, it was a total let-down. Like my dish had smoked salmon, 2 types of rice, nothing blackened, it's too much things on a plate, it's just tasteless.

For years Ibu Ray has been one of my favourite for Balinese Food and outstanding service. But tonight the food was mediocre , pre-prepared and the ginger chicken over cooked and tasteless. The rice stale and the starters also not exciting.

Delicious local food but this place can get quite busy! The staff are kind, in typical Balinese fashion. We ordered 2 different fish plates both very different but quite good. Some of the dishes have potatoes as a side. I would move away from that as it is filled with chunks of butter. Take it from a girl who loves her butter and mash this just didn't do it for my friend and I.

I've been coming to Ibu Rai for 5 years. It's not true Indonesian food, although there are a few selected local dishes on the menu. It offers a great selection of Asian fusion meals which are tasty, imaginative and consistently high quality. Some people criticise the staff for being "pushy". They are well aware there are always a dozen people queued to get a table. The prices are not Warung style cheap meals. But they are cheaper than most of the "must see" restaurants and their competitors on Jalan Raya Ubud and some of their neighbors on Monkey Forest Road. But if you're like me and after a week of Mie Goreng or Nasi Goreng you crave a meal with imaginative flavour combinations (nothing weird) then this is the place. It's always busy so book if you want to eat at a specific time. The Vietnamese cold rolls as a starter and then the duck with coriander are my favourites.

Very nice environment and the staff is friendly. The food was very good and the portions were ok. Not cheap.
It was crowded, we had to wait 15min to sit, around 21:30

Tourist grabbing money restaurant. Nice Balinese ambience, but packed and very overpriced with incredibly small portions of average tasting food. Within 15 min of serving the food they'll start constantly asking you to order more or bring the bill, putting pressure to finish as soon as possible, so they can free the table for a next customer. The whole experience left a bitter taste in my mouth.

Tourist oriented restaurant with very nice ambience. Misleading - with a name like Ibu Rai one would expect more focus or choices in Indonesian food options. There are only 5 Indonesian mains option in the menu, with more continental options like Chicken Cordon Bleu, grilled lamb chops, deep fried calamari.
Safe haven for tourist who are looking for safe harbour food options. Disappointment for those looking for rawon, Soto Ayam, nasi campur, etc.
Pricing is more towards the tourist pricing ... per mains IDR80,000 per dish on average.

Had most amazing meal there today. Would highly recommend a visit. We were in the garden at the back. Food was delicious from starter to dessert. Had the Vietnamese spring roll. Cashew nut chicken, lava chocolate dessert with passion fruit ice cream. Amazing. Staff were second to none

If you like it more quiet, sit in the back of the restaurant. Very idyllic garden! Lovely staff, good service. Food was great, too! I didn't find it very expensive and my portion was big enough, too (I was very hungry!) ;-)

if you are looking premium asian food and have no concern for (a bit more) expensive price, this restaurant is highly recommended. The taste is so delicious towards my (southeast asian) perspective. The services are good with english fluent waitresses. The environment and decoratoon is looked so bali. You can feel the authentic bali here. However, the billing will add 0.5% service charge and 15% vat. Kare and lemon tea are recommended menu.

Wonderful experience, good food, great ambiance. While the food may be pricier than other locations, the quality makes up for the price difference. Mind you, it's about $5USD which is ridiculously cheap for the experience.
I have to say that aside from the great food (spicy, but not overpowering, flavorful, but not heavy), the service was superb. The second you crook your neck, someone hustles over to the table. Substitutions, off menu requests - not a problem. Love Bali.
