It is fine dine.. Very detail.. Taste lovely.. Smaller plate.. So we needed like 3 course or 2 meal.. Just a main will not be enough

Simply the best modem Indonesian food in Ubud. First of all, the location is great, and the decor is top notch. The helpful staff can guide you through the extensive and very appealing menu. Order some special ice teas while you wait. Get a starter and two dishes for a couple, it's quite enough. We enjoyed the food so much we decided to also get two desserts, so worth it. If you want to splurge a bit, just go here, you won't regret it; it's even more affordable than other comparable fine dining places in the region.

One of the best meals of my life! I had the whole crispy fish, water spinach and brioche for dessert. Definitely book as it fills up (even mid-week)! A must visit in Bali!

What an outstanding place we discovered in Hujan Locale. The food is exquisite, taking local dishes and presenting them in the most spectacular way. Everything we ate was brilliant, my only disappointment was the we couldn’t try everything.
The cocktails too, were a thing to behold.
All the staff were outstanding and I can not recommend this place enough.

We never know that Indonesian local foods can be put as a fine dinning menu. The food taste amazing and very suited with westerners taste although it's an Indonesian local foods. We really enjoy having dinner in this place, the atmosphere is perfect, its quite casual dinning with less music so you really can talk during your dinner time.
The location is very near to Ubud Art market, you better have reservation here. Just reserve the table in the website and show up on time.

Amazing!! We stumbled across this restaurant one night and boy are we glad we did. The service was exceptional; attentive, friendly and professional. The food was absolutely delicious and the menu was well priced and had some exciting options. We will definitely be back.

Great fusion food and relaxed ambience. You'll need at least 10-15 minutes to go through the detailed menu, and that'll be time well spent. Immaculately presented and served. Good place for a lazy lunch. Tip: They have very few seats, but try and angle for a table on the 1st floor - quieter corners.

Great food. I had spring rolls that were delicious and a pot of tea. The location is very nice and the service is good ... except I waited forever for a dessert that never came. Change of shift I suppose. Pricey but worth it, and expect the service to be professional but less warm than normally in Bali.

went for cocktails and dinner, unfortunately nobody mentioned the kitchen closed at 10 PM so couldn't get food. we were sitting at the bar for an hour and staff knew we wanted dinner but failed to let us know this detail. but ended up finding a newly opened gem - Bonito! the most amazing cozy place!

Reviewing so I remember for next I'm in Bali. Had this twice in two days. Everything was divine... Except maybe the stuffed squid which was a little tough but still tasty. The fern tips may have been a favorite but it's a tough choice to select just one.

Part of the Sarong group of restaurants. I ordered the ikan bumbu kuning. Very fresh, great presentation. All the staff were super attentive and friendly. Very impressed. Reservations strongly recommended (you'll sit upstairs) or else you can try your luck with a walk-in – there aren't many walk-in tables available downstairs.

Pricey, but great atmosphere and food. I had the Ayam Betutu, which was spicy, but very delicious. I recommend booking a table, just to be sure.

Spectacular food! Warm and attentive service. Interesting menu. Nice ambience. Prices a bit high, but it's definitely worth the splurge! I really can't fault it nor recommend it enough ❤

It's a great ambiance with very friendly staff. The flavors were spectacular, Will Meyrick - streetwise chef and TV presenter does it again. Best recommendation regarding lunch / dining in Ubud.

Food was really great and the prices were decently high. We paid 850k for a nice meal for 2 including 2 mains, a starter and a drink each.
The only negative was the lack of any free drinking water. I don't get it. If you are charging 400k per head, I would seriously like to have the option of house water.

Wow, where do I begin? We stumbled across here on a rainy evening. The menu was extensive and dishes were innovative. Try their fish dumpling, the peanut sauce and different styles of fish dumplings are a perfect combo. Their fried squid is really nice too, absolutely delicious with their fried basil leaves.
For our main we ordered lamb shoulder and smoked fish with curry. My smoked fish was meaty and chunky, definitely smokey too. I enjoyed my dish although I think I would not get it again as the smokiness was a little bit overpowering. My hubby absolutely loved his lamb shoulder too. For dessert we ordered cassava sponge cake and some Indonesian open pancake with caramel.. the sponge cake wins. We had thoroughly enjoyed our evening here, great ambience and service definitely topped off the whole dining experience.

Amazing food - I had the squid for starter and the lamb shoulder for mains. The lamb was up with there the Best I've ever had .

Great interior and initially great menu that keeps changing and experimented at for the worst since the first 2-3 glorious months of excellence at the beginning 🤔

Pretty good food. It's a bit pricey compared to nearby places

Great Indonesian kitchen. Starters: tuna, cod croquette and squids were wonderful. As well as main courses: squids, chickens and duck. Very good service.

Providing a modern twist on tradional dishes from all over Indonesia, my wife and both agree that this was some of the best food we have ever had, anywhere, ever. I had the crispy squid and my wife had watermelon, cucumber and mint salad. Both dishes left us wanting more and we will return before leaving Bali.
The clean, airy, premises are new and modern. Tables are not packed together and the open view onto the street is great for watching the world go by.
Do yourself a favour and try this place, you won't be disappointed.
Sara Gordon (04/01/2017 07:50)
The food was good, but not as amazing as we'd hoped for Bali prices. We also had dinner late and we're sort of rushed out of the restaurant! If you do go - the calamari and beef rendang were the best of the bunch.
Susanne (29/12/2016 21:05)
Everything was delicious! Cocktails were fabulous. On the more expensive side but our whole group thought it was the best meal we had in Bali. Would have given 5 stars but the only downfall was that the upstairs room was hotter than outside and the little fans on the ceiling were more decorative than useful.
marcello stanley (25/12/2016 21:16)
One of the best version of modern Indonesian cooking. Don't let the image of modern fusion eateries fools you. Their serving and taste are good for sharing. They even have options for various kind of interesting carbs including good amount of rice. They also serve amazing desserts.

The best service in Ubud. These guys understand marketing! On our second occasion in, they brought us a drink on the house that was amazing!
Oh and the foods great of course!
Shameer Khan (29/09/2016 05:46)
Very good food, lovely service and a great experience. Every detail, from the menu design to the interior decor to the photography even to the layout of the washroom area and towels, has been considered. There was one photograph of pink ice cream that bothered me, considering everything else is of local life and places and in monochrome.
All in all a class experience for a reasonable price compared to many major cities, but it is quite expensive compared to other restaurants on the area. Was it worth it? I think so.

Excellent quality and taste in Ubud central. Best local inspired dishes. Even better than Swept Away. I would recommend to try them.
Florian Koenigsberger (17/07/2016 06:07)
Felt like the best of Balinese cuisine. Incredible squid ink rice, sautéed corn, snapper ceviche, as well as a very tasty "tropic mule" cocktail.

Amazing! Great food, great service and great setting. So friendly and welcoming and the Beef rendang was melt in the mouth! We went without a reservation and they were more than happy to get us a great table. Prices are regular London price but you are getting top class food that would be really expensive in London so great value too. Cocktails too were outstanding! Staff really helped when picking the foods and gave some great suggestions, also explained certain ingredients were in the food, really useful!!

Excellent food, each dish was uniquely created and very tasty. A simple beef rendang could turn into a very tender beef and full of aroma. Fried duck was the best I have ever tasted... Crispy and juicy. Pork soup (pork benyal) was tasty and the broth is rich. Exceptional dessert too (pineapple granita).
Kanghao Yu (31/05/2016 06:45)
Probably one of the best dining spots in Ubud if you're looking for top notch food in a romantic or relaxed setting at reasonable prices. The crispy duck and squid ink rice were both excellent!

Another establishment of Sarong Group of Will Meyrick. Serve a number of sumatran inspired food with adjusted taste for foreigners. But it doesn't packed enough punch for the local tastebud.

Food is nice. It is good for those who want to try indonesian food for the first time. It is not exactly authentic but it is still good. The service is awesome. The atmosphere is also good.
Wai Keong Lock (01/04/2016 01:46)
Highly recommended. The menu is a good selection of dishes around Indonesia and all done very well. We had the salt baked sea bass which was excellent, the lamb curry that come with roti and satay. Satay was average. Desserts are mostly western. We tried the bread and butter pudding and it was very good. Nice bistro like ambiance and worth a visit if you are on Ubud looking for something nice.

It’s our second trip to this unique eatery. Founded by chef Will Meyrick, Hujan is a place where a relationship between good local produce and traditional south-east Asia food are met. The interior is clean and airy with a reflection to cool tropical houses with a touch of old Asian charm. Well, i won’t talk much on the food side but to top everything off, their food is delicious! After considering everything, I can confidently say that you must try this eatery when visiting this area
