The ambiance was extraordinary. The food even better. I did not even break the bank either. Not just worth a try, it's worth a journey.

Ultra modern tourist/expat hipster joint with organic/vegan/veggie everything.. they do have meat. Prices were slightly high for Ubud. The interior is gorgeous. The food was well made and very tasty. Long waits for entry most of the time and no shoes allowed. Service was friendly but very very slow as the wait staff has to run up and down the huge staircase to the kitchen.

Trendy may be the the word for this. Two stories restaurant which offer variety of seating --on the floor, sit up, or laying down (yes, they have a massage on the upper level). Food was okay and service was great, but they don't have WiFi (hence, losing a star).

Great food spot with TONS of selection. We have a couple of picky younger eaters and they raved about this spot from start to finish. Ingredients taste fresh and the presentation is really nice too.
A lot of thought has gone into the interior design (including a fireman's pole that the kids LOVED) making it a great overall experience.
The service is slow, but come here and intentionally slow down--it's the Bali way.

Beautiful place.. Very nice presentation of all plates... Desserts are good to see but not to taste unfortunately.. At rush hour service is poor... The atmosphere is their best thing..

Super trendy place, with door lady scrutinizing every one who tries to enter through the intricately carved round door. Had nice lunch from extensive menu option and booked for group of 7 for dinner. Upon arrival they didn't have our booking but kept letting walk ins through while we were lefy outside trying to explain that we had indeed made a booking. They then tried to squish us all onto a table for 4... They couldn't care less about the customer. Do yourself a favor and choose one of the many locally run places, they may not be as trendy or cool but they have great food and will look after you.

Came here mainly due to the good reviews, but was rather disappointed. Had the breakfast burrito which was average at best. The place itself looks quite impressing, yet there's a continuous buzz and fuzz around you, especially upstairs facing the streets. I couldn't even hear the background music. The menu offered a lot of variety so if I were to come back, it's strictly out of curiosity for other food options, except that burrito.

This is a bit of a strange place.
Obviously they started out great, stylish place, stylish menu.
But then apparently there is no management.
The daily maintenance, daily decoration, service, none of it is at par. The coffee is horrible because apparently nobody can operate the machine, the pancakes on the other hand are great, the original recipe still stands. You may wait 10 minutes just to get noticed, you may receive the food for the children 20 minutes after everyone else's (which sounds like a suicidal restaurant to me, if you've ever seen a 4-year old wait for her food).
So I don't know. We still go there sometimes, but the prices are high and the overall experience is mediocre.

Interior was impressive! However the service not so much - we ordered ice cream for dessert, specifically said we want it when finished with dinner - it was brought after 10 min from serving dinner, as a result we had to rush through our meal. At 21.50 they started cleaning and literally would ha e bloomed is away... not a nice experience as a whole.

Gorgeous cafe and restaurant. It's worth going just to walk through the beautiful piece of artwork the round entrance door is. Stunning decor and very attentive staff. Sitting either upstairs or downstairs is equally enjoyable. You are asked to remove your shoes so best to wear shoes that you can easily remove. I had a tumeric juice that was fabulous. Great vegetarian options. While I didn't visit their spa I certainly wouldn't hesitate recommend trying it as it looked lovely.

Beautiful indoor/outdoor feel. Very leafy with water features & large fish pond. Delicious, nutritious menu with loads of variety, including vegan & raw plant-based. A lovely, modern, serene cafe to pop into to get out of the heat & the busy streets. They have free WiFi (take your laptop to enjoy some quiet time) & the bathrooms upstairs are lovely, modern & clean!

Popular cafe to visit at least once for the atmosphere and the fireman pole (in the back). If you prefer a quiet but airy space, head there before lunchtime as it will get quite busy in the afternoon.
This is a barefoot sanctuary, and shoes must be "checked" at the entrance (with a number given). Flip flops will be available at the entrance of the bathrooms for hygienic purposes, as will individual hand towels to cut down on paper waste.
Sit at a table or relax on the floor cushions on either level. Generous selection of dining options with a kid's menu available, prices being average for this type of establishment.
Note: for "Drinks", you may choose from either cow milk or "nut milk" (only cashew being available). Why they don't specify it is cashew from the start defies logic.
Service was efficient and friendly. The waitresses' uniforms do remind you of a classic hotel maid, which is a little strange given the cafe's vibe.
Giving it 4 stars because I was constantly bothered by mosquitoes and this hasn't happened in other places in natural settings.

We ate here once. The atmosphere is wonderful. The food is delicious and well prepared. Staff is fast, efficient, and friendly. We were not rushed which made for a nice relaxing evening with friends here. I did not like having to remove my shoes to enter the place but this is Ubud so go with the flow. A bit pricey but worth it!

This restaurant blew me away. Magnificent decor, very large menu with a broad range of International dishes, excellent food and a friendly staff. I ordered the Falafel Pita made into a wrap instead, and it was wonderful. Will definitely return.

Really good dining experience. First you gotta take off your shoes to enter the restaurant. The interior design is really appealing. Downstairs you gotta be seated on the floor, what is really comfortable. The tuna burger was great!

Clear recently moved back to its old location on Jln Hanoman and this was our first visit since the move.
The space is much improved, it feels light and airy and has some interesting touches. Food-wise, I was impressed, the portions were generous and the food well cooked and tasty and, all things considered, very reasonably priced. The staff were wound and friendly but not hugely attentive, they spent much of the time chatting loudly amongst themselves rather than watching to see if clients needed anything. The staff uniform seems very old fashioned and very much at odds with the ambience of the restaurant. All in all I'd be happy to go back and most probably will!
Camilla Costantino (26/08/2017 20:03)
Rude waitresses (very rude), food not so good, not worthy the price. Although it's expensive and they pretend to be more sophisticated than the restaurant is, the credit card terminal was not available or nort present. To be avoided.

Yummy vegan food and drink! Awesome atmosphere; floor or chair seating, fireman's pole if you fancy, leave your shoes at the door, fish pond. Lovely experience all up

Clear Cafe is a unique cafe located in Hanoman street, Ubud. The cafe is well decorated with tasty interior design, from the main entrance to the all seating area is very nice! Very tasteful design...
The unique is, you must loose your footwear at the main entrance to enter the cafe, you'll get a code for you to get it back, wonder why? All the staff is nice and friendly. The menu is various, from the Asian to Western food. Taste good, no complaint....the price reasonable compare to what you get....
This cafe is so popular, don't expect you can walk in without queue in the tourist season, it's always full house! But the staff quite handy to manage all the guest. The real big problem is very hard to find a parking spot, if you came by car, maybe they should provide a valet parking service. Clear Cafe is a must try when you're in Ubud!
Navin Ahmed (20/07/2017 01:21)
Amazing ambience and interior! Average service and food. Had the Cajun Fish Filet, they were out of snapper and replaced it with tuna but the dish itself was tasteless. The menu was otherwise also quite limited; no meat options, and just a handful of fish and prawn ones. Might be a good place to visit is one is looking to eat vegetarian.
jessae brown (30/06/2017 06:26)
Go for the cafe, skip the spa. Went with lunch for friends and although my meal (on the healthier side) was not so great, everyone else enjoyed theirs heartily. I made spa appointments for the following day noticing they had a beautiful spa and good prices- but the massage was the worst I've had in Bali and the facial was very bad. No skin care products that I could tell- just facial massages and cucumber slices.

Perfect location excellent food and well organised and trained staff. We came here three times. Every time we enjoyed our food. We recommend this place to all visitors.

The place is elegant and cozy. The ambiance is amazing.
We had jamur fettuccine pasta, wasabi mashed potato, and juice. Fresh ingredients, healthy, delicious ! Loved it. The ambience is nice and clean.
Visited twice more and ordered different items on the menu. Loved it every time.

Amazing variety of health beverages including elixirs and shakes. Vegan options are interesting and flavourful. Decor is nothing short of amazing. Can't wait for my next meal here.
Hyejin Song (14/05/2017 07:11)
Beautiful cafe! Love their green wall. The ambience is like a great hotel lounge. But I find the music choices could be better.
Crystal Koh (23/04/2017 15:33)
Very good ambience, modern and unique. Food is interesting serving only seafood and veg and using coconut oil for frying. Could have some portable air conditioning around to provide cooler air as it was quite hot and humid.
Laura Costa (15/04/2017 10:53)
Lot of choices in the menu, so many different type of food and the salad was delicious. The decoration is really nice and the atmosphere is really quiet. Love it !!!
Tze Wei Toh (13/04/2017 01:19)
Organic and Vegetarian cafe. Ambience and deco very nice and calm, I like their entrance door like the Hobbits house. Service is good too.
Reason for 3 star instead of 4 or 5 is because there were aplenty of such organic and vegetarian restaurants scatter around Bali.
Nonetheless, they are still worth a visit for their restaurant deco and theme, :-)

Food and atmosphere is perfect! So unique! It was so unexpected and pleasant! Interior is very interesting and cozy! I like waterfall and alive fishes swimming in the water. Roses on every table and smiling and polite waitresses makes very harmonious atmosphere. One of my fav place on Bali!
Roberto Romoli (12/03/2017 06:25)
Beautiful intern, there's even a firefighter pole to go to the first floor! All the ingredients are local, the cocktail are fantastic and served in peculiar glasses. The food it's tasty and well presented. Wash your feet before coming here, you have to take of your shoes at the entrance.
Angela Krieger (09/02/2017 14:01)
Clear café is a special place. All their food is organic and sustainability is really important in they do! Many delicious juices and smoothies and yummy food. Great atmosphere, nice design and good place to hang out.
Veronika Kütt (02/02/2017 04:38)
Super stylish café, chill vibe! The 'Hot Lava' (Raw Cacao, Cashew milk, Chili) is so so good! Was not too amazed by the sushi though as it was mainly rice, hardly anything inside the roll :O
Wiida Putri (31/01/2017 18:09)
Great place for dinner. Staff friendly and helpful. Tasty and healthy food. Affordable price. Suggest to take seat on the 3rd floor.
Emily Franco (26/12/2016 07:36)
Do not dismiss the bad reviews; in fact, filter by them.
The cafe is decorated nicely. But the good stops there.
Staff at the door take your shoes but then don't direct you where to sit and you won't be assisted without asking, even if you obviously look lost.
When you're finally seated, menus don't come unless you ask. Even if you look lost. They don't come politely, either, and is as if you've inconvenienced your server, "Oh, K." is what we got.
Food is much smaller and less tasty than what the rest of Bali has to offer. I ordered a VANILLA cafe latte and when it came out tasting of dirt and no vanilla at all, I inquired and was told that there is vanilla inside the coffee. Apparently they can't add any extra because vanilla is expensive and I got quoted 20,000 to add more. However, it wouldn't taste any more like vanilla, because it is "bland", I was told. I asked why they'd put this on the menu if it isn't vanilla flavored and they couldn't explain. They offered to replace my drink which I accepted, but I pointed out this would be more expensive for them than adding extra vanilla, which didn't get through...
The replacement coffee, a mocha, didn't taste like chocolate and again like dirt.
Partner got a breakfast burrito which was fine, but we left with a bitter taste.
Go anywhere else! The decor is the only nice thing and it won't hold the rest of the cafe over.

Clear Cafe is amazing! I heard they've moved back to their original location - which sounds like it's really nice, but I'll miss the view from the old one! The food is great, a wonderful large menu with a ton of options. The breakfast is fantastic and my favorite - but many other items are great choices as well! Always been a enjoyable time coming here with friends!
Painfully Honest (23/09/2016 13:27)
Ridiculously silly menu of badly made food! Whilst view is great, the whiffs of garbage are off-putting.Pretentiousness at its finest! Avoid at all cost.
If you're vegan/gluten free hippie, feel free to proceed.
If you're anyone looking for a nutritious meal, avoid at all cost.
Electro berry could only be described as "pukey".
Cajun Snapper Fillet, which is "must try" was so over-seasoned, that pepper was the only thing I could taste. Fries sent with it were not fresh either. Good ketchup though - home made, I believe.
Clear Salad was, well, clear of tomatoes listed in the menu and the sauce bizarre to say the least.
Trinity of hummus decent, with pepper one best, black bean reminiscent of tex-mex and zucchini indescriptive. Pita OK, couple (2) of crudites each: carrot and cucumber.
A meal of wasted calories and headache after reading the ridiculous menu.
Not a good food, no wellness to be found.
Pretentiousness at its finest!

LOVE this place, delicious food and smoothies, average prices but such a great view. The snapper fish wrap that they recommend is perfect. My favorite time to go is when it's drizzling rain a little outside and it's all quiet and peaceful. There's several floors so it feels so spacious and empty even if it isn't. colorful and healthy food options too!
Nikki Troland (16/08/2016 08:41)
Great views and a nice atmosphere, but the food isn't worth the price. The service is terrible. They also charge the highest "tax" in Bali (20 percent). The smoothies at The Elephant down the road are better and less expensive. The Elephant also has a nice atmosphere.
Mate Valtr (18/07/2016 11:43)
Good place especially for digital nomads wanting to make sh*t done. Spacious space distributed across three stories building of the cafe offers laid back place to chill, read or work - a lot of electric sockets will be surely appreciated by laptop moles.
Top terrace offers pretty decent view over the nearby temple above creek.
Prices are slightly higher (35k Rp for chocolate milkshake + tax + service fee), but the scenting ambiance full of flowers and smiley service is definitely worth it.
Deepu Vinod (13/06/2016 06:15)
Very nice view from the top. Slightly expensive but decent food and nice ambience. Tried Indian food which was okay but not really authentic.
Zsolt Bakó (07/06/2016 07:13)
One of my favorite places in Ubud. Delicious vegan food (I'm not vegan but loved them!) and amazing view from the terrace. The service was not attentive, or to be more precise the staff actively avoided contact with customers :D so it's a nice place if you want to relax or work with a single drink for hours :P Wifi is sometimes great sometimes unreliable, needs registration one time and login in every 3 hours.
Iris Alm Faleide (19/05/2016 13:11)
I go to Clear often for their amazing vegan mylk shakes. Salads great, they have flax seed crackers, but no gluten free toast.
Not a good place to come late; states that it is open until 23, but staff will start taking the candles off your table at 21.30 and kick you out at 22.15.
Mary Aracena (15/05/2016 08:44)
Just amazing food and drinks. It was an incredible experience to dine here.
Loved it so much! Will be returning.

They have wonderful setting, great selection of healthy food and drink. Unfortunately I already had lunch so I only ordered Banana Pancake with chocolate chip and fresh orange for the drink. My friend had something Mediterranean which she said was really good but I forgot the name, just check the photo. They also have electric plugs so it's a good place to do some work.
