Don't be misled, the food is very poor. You can get better duck at the cheap chinese at the end of your street. The satay sauce was just watered down peanut butter. the duck salad didn't have any duck just crunchy bits from the bottom of the fryer. The desert was equally average. this is more of a tourist attraction than a real restaurant. It is the biggest restaurant that i have ever seen, the staff were friendly, the live music was great, lovely location, maybe once upon a time it was a good restaurant. It is not good now

Very good food, although portions could be bigger for the price. I ordered Thai chicken and it was amazing. My husband tried the duck but complained about it being too salty. The place itself is amazing, huge area, multiple private pavilions, tiny fountains, exceptional calmness of the surroundings. We saw a very cute owl sitting in between pavilions.

President Obama and Anthony Bourdain cant be wrong. The food was amazing as expected. We ended up ordering extra. Try to arrive before noon to beat the crowd. They except Cash only and the staff spoke limited English. The soup was amazing so consider ordering it. We also go an extra order of the pork skin. I could eat that every day. Say hello to the birds on the way out!

Definitely a place that’s over hyped for its crispy duck. Which for starters wasn’t that great. The prices were expensive the place was huge and clam and relaxing, for a quiet meal. Occasionally the in house ducks come in and greet. The one thing that was amazing was pork chop, such a great dish cooked perfectly and the sauce was just rich in taste and entangled my tastebuds in happiness. Will definitely not recommend this place for other than the pork chop.

Nice food, but I got a terrible stomach after eating there and the price is extremely expensive. Waitress are not so friendly

Celia Ward (16/04/2018 09:34)
Not so great. Crispy Duck was overpriced and underwhelming. Greasy and pretty tastseless. I love duck and look for the best when I travel. This was not it. Wait staff was nice but hovering. Who wants to be watched consuming a half duck by hand?

Really enjoyed the atmosphere and environment of this restaurant. You can dine in one of the cabana/huts completely in the shade so it is quite comfortable. Towards the back, there is a rice field as well.

We had the original bebek bengil and it was really good! Crispy skin yet still tender and juicy meat as well.

They have motorbike parking on the side of the restaurant as well, just ask one of the staff for assistance if you can't see it.

Definitely order the crispy fried duck half or whole! Sir on the traditional Balinese seating by the following water. A smaller starter and room-temperature drink enhances the taste of the duck. The crispy bones can be chewed and eaten whole. Traditional Balinese dessert is also a must for the entire experience!

Myrjam Hannah Mercado (23/03/2018 22:28)
Very good crispy duck! And very beautiful place to dine and sit around. Staff was very good. Tried the fruit lassi, also good. Price is affordable too compared to some of the other places where I tried crispy duck.

Nice place and nice atmosphere, nice view (paddy field). Lot of kinds of delicious menus, especially the authentic crispy duck. If you go to Ubud (Bali) don't miss this place.
The price quite expensive but worth it.
Loves it.

Amazing setting with decent food. I went for their original crispy duck. It was indeed crispy, but they don’t earn the crispy... they fry it. The meat was spartan and dry, but you can’t argue with the crunch. I’ve tried better, but worth the experience.

Steven Leong (06/11/2017 07:49)
Was recommended by the hotel for lunch and was pleasantly surprised. The duck was boiled and deep fried to perfection. Portion was good for an adult. Duck has a good balance of fat and meat plus the crispness. Though it has a slight duck smell. Overall, it’s a good meal. While waiting for the food, Wan around the premises. It has various verandas and a paddy field at the back.

Located in a garden, it has a nice ambiance. The duck was very tasty and crispy and the service ok. Prices above average. I would return again!

James Gray (14/11/2017 15:00)
Arrived at this restaurant with great anticipation, ordered the half crispy duck and what I received was more like half a cremated pigeon! Not what you would expect considering the price! Great setting and staff however.

Jeffrey Tan (13/11/2017 11:50)
Just ordered take out to have some midnight snack. Haha.

Duck is delicious. Best one I tasted. We will go back again.

dodo basuki (09/11/2017 22:58)
It's a traditional style duck fried restaurant.they deep fried the duck almost dry and crispy outside. Some love It, some so not into it. Maybe too dry to western style cooking or if you more to Peking duck style.

Paulius Raškauskas (05/09/2017 09:51)
The food is reasonably priced for a place like this in Ubud and the service was really fast but the prices for drinks are just outrageous. 50k for a small bottle of local beer? Are you kidding me?

Vladislav Ivanov (31/08/2017 09:36)
The only positive feature of this place is the nice garden. Prices are way too high and I have to say that the quality of the food is much worse than some of the nearby warungs. To avoid!

Dennis Bourne (20/08/2017 14:05)
We visited this place for lunch. It was recommended by our driver. The food was inexpensive, but delicious. The restaurant is set amongst beautiful gardens and paddyfields and is beautiful to view whilst eating.

Emily Su (13/08/2017 07:28)
The Half Duck is pretty substantial, has more meat that it looks like it has. Ate it with the Duck Fried Rice, which is much better than the white rice that comes with the former. Chilli served is super shiok & spicy 🌶 You can also wander around the grounds looking at the ducks too, before your food arrives 😅

The premises are huge, seems like there are many tables. You sit at the tables cross legged; I am not sure how comfortable this will be for tall people.

Would recommend this as a unique experience if you haven't been here before!

📶 WiFi available
☀ Al fresco seats only (but shaded)

Tecky S (22/06/2017 13:29)
The signature duck dish is a bit to dry for our taste. The place has good view with only outdoor seating available. Everything is quite pricey.

Kevin Thirta (20/06/2017 14:33)
The price is too high, the overall taste is good but not awesome. The atmosphere is great and make you feel in the middle of a peaceful village.

Arne Theuerkauf (18/06/2017 13:07)
Great restaurant! Enjoy outdoor seating next to the restaurants planted rice and a lot of other greens. The roasted duck has great taste, use the small sauces to enrich the flavour. Nasi Goreng nice too, but can't compete with the duck. Waiters are friendly, English speaking and not passing by too often and they leave you all the time for your meal that you take. And there is free WiFi.

Reid Tinsley (12/06/2017 22:37)
Beautiful open air restaurant. The grounds are incredible. Take time to walk around after you order or before you leave. The duck was excellent. Very tender juicy meat and fried crispy. The seasoning was neutral but was accompanied by a challot pepper relish and a spicy sweet molasses based sauce. It's famous for a reason and worth a visit!

お米さん (04/06/2017 01:46)
Waiter and waitress are very nice and friendly, the juice there taste really good and is made fresh. The crispy duck tasted delicious and the food came out pretty quickly. It's very cool outside and relaxing and I recommend coming here.

braharjo gmail (26/04/2017 09:16)
There a good food and ambience atmosphere..the duck meat is so tender but a bit expensive for local tourist..and my self have taste a better one than this...overall just nice for couple..

Keith Yong (21/04/2017 09:55)
Great atmosphere and I really like the decor of the place. Tried the signature duck and was very happy with it, very crispy and flavorful. I also found the sides (sambal, chilli shallots in oil and bean/green sprouts) to be very addictive and goes really well with the rice. Definitely come here if you are in Bali.

Viola Lin (14/04/2017 06:27)
Nice view with the garden and paddy field. Quite big inside. There is valet parking. Crispy duck is not bad. Find it quite pricy.

Dolla Dub (26/03/2017 12:06)
Delicious chicken wings and duck.
Good selection of drinks.
Nice tables and floor seating, all far apart from each other.
Medium to high price.

Dano Nugraha (22/02/2017 13:58)
Real nice service, not quick but nice. The food is good i liked it. But it turn from A to B, imo. Like any other places in Bali, it gives you combination of chill sensation by its location along with good quality of food.

P.s. : getting pricey every year.

Win Chiu (24/01/2017 05:04)
Honestly, nothing special. The duck is crispy, but this is not the best I have ever tasted. We have many better fried ducks in java. Their price is a bit high.. but well, what can I say? When you eat in Ubud, you pay for the atmosphere.. the scenery. And they provided all of that.

Oktaviandi Hadi Nugraha (14/01/2017 06:45)
Having a meal there is one of those things that you have to do on your trip to Ubud. Having said that, the food is good but not that good for that price. I expect much more for that price.

The place is great though; clean and comfortable.

Tan Yan Hao (28/12/2016 15:56)
Ordered some pork rib with the roasted duck and some side dishes which was good. Haven't tried roasted duck from the other eateries yet but we felt that this is delicious and the dining environment is very cozy. We feel the price is on the high side though for the food portion served.

Andreas von Holy (14/12/2016 14:49)
Amazing dinner with an amazing experience and atmosphere. We were lucky enough to get a booth with floor seating which was very nice. The food was great and the service excellent. Would definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone coming to Ubud. Prices are higher than other restaurants, but the food was very good.

Jason Gough (12/09/2016 14:05)
Great setting and great service, but the ducks were so scrawny that it raises questions about the conditions they are raised in. We had to send our first 2 plates back for 'fatter' ones. The staff were very obliging and happy to help. The replacements were tasty where we found the meat, but quite dry. Stick to French or English duck is my advice :-)

Also, don't forget your insect repellent. You're gonna need it in the evening.

Mark Henaghan (07/09/2016 02:28)
Despite being almost empty at the cool open rear ofthe restaurant we were offered a seat in the very front open windows area overlooking the street presumably to entice other patrons into the establishment. There was no fans operating and it was oppressively hot to hot to eat in comfort at any rate. Only when we voice this said we would only have s drink and move on did the offer of a much cooler and pleasant table appear. The gardens at the rear are both lovely open and cool albeit very touristic. The house special half a crispy duck came suspiciously fast to the table. And was more dehydrated duck than crispy. Service was curt by Bali standard. I opt for some other restaurant of which there are a plethora to choose from

Caroline Carnoy (04/09/2016 00:02)
Yummy x 5! We had the traditional Balinese duck and I was delighted. Don't expect well presented food - you're here to eat like a Balinese not like a French. (I'm French so I know what I'm talking about ;)) the staff was nice and the beer was cold.

Monica Ng (01/09/2016 08:00)
I like this place. The restaurant is spacious and plenty greens around it, right at the back is rice padi field. The food is considered expensive for the portion but this place has been here for the longest time I know. It's popular amongst Asian tourists.

C A (06/08/2016 02:33)
I'd give it four stars if it was my first time as the duck and Balinese sauces are really great. However the price is in the high side after you include service , tax and food and I've had the same quality in Bali for half the price. This place is becoming a bit of a tourist trap nowadays.

Sheng-Yen Ng (05/06/2016 10:19)
Origin of the deep fried bebek. Place has very very ambience and can easily accommodate large groups.

Food wise, the deep fried bebek (duck) is up to par and expectations. Have had better duck but as one of the two "must visit" places in Ubud (the other being Naughty Nuri's), it's a must go to for visitors.

Veronica Limcaoco (02/06/2016 13:16)
Ate here first thing in the morning since it was recommended to me by driver on the way to Ubud.

The best thing about this place is it's ambiance. The restaurant is HUGE so choose the seats in the back overlooking the rice fields for a real Bali feel.

Food I give a 3/5. Maybe even less since I was expecting "Best duck" in Ubud. Although the flavor was there, the duck wasn't as crispy as I expected it to be. Actually, aside from the wing it was more rubbery than crispy. To put it simply, i've had better deep fried duck. The commercial chains that serve the same dish in Jakarta taste better in my opinion.

If it's your first time to try deep fried duck however; i'm pretty sure this is still a place you'd enjoy.

Nathan May (26/05/2016 07:34)
Excellent scenery, relaxed atmosphere good food. Was a little bit on the pricey side by the time you add all the service and government taxes on top. But can easily overlook that with excellent, friendly and helpful staff. The place dosnt have any parking spots for cars but does offer a free valet service for customers.

Sebastian Dreier (09/05/2016 07:44)
I took the grilled duck with sweet chili sauce, mashed potatoes and a water melon juice. The juice and the mashed potatoes tasted very good but the duck was burnt and the taste was nothing special. The atmosphere is very nice but the staff is NOT very helpful and also a little impolite. Never again...

Levina Sunaryo (08/04/2016 12:54)
This place is really big, suitable for group. They have valet service. Inside there are a lot of bale surrounded by manmade ricefield where you enjoy your food. Also suitable for family. The duck is really crispy. Price a bit high.
