We have visited all the major well-known art museums in and around Ubud ... and this is our favourite.
It is poetry the way all the architectural and landscaping elements of three restaurants, a luxury resort, cultural centre, educational facility and art museum are harmonically juxtaposed together as a delightful work of art.
This particular art museum is actually more than just a museum.
It is part of a much greater whole: a much broader encompassing vision by Agung Rai ... a surprisingly humble & gentle man whom we had the privilege to personally meet during our visit there.
The man himself - a local legend in the making - can be found frequently strolling around the immensely delightful surroundings, smiling and greeting guests, visitors and staff ... making himself available, a work of art himself.
Be prepared to spend more time here ... it's worth every valuable minute.
Enjoy!

Good arts were displayed
You will require at least 2 hours to observe the art and read about them to know more knowledge about the culture of Bali, it's temples and Hinduism
The entrance is 80000 idr per person which includes a free coffee
Early in the morning this place is very cool with less crowd and free to explore
We can also see Artists painting and carving
The staff were good as well

Took a batik lesson. He could not speak English or tell us why we were using the techniques he had us draw. Started out by just saying to draw something. No stencils, rotten for someone not able to draw. Setting of ARMA very tranquil and we had our lesson outdoors. Cannot recommend for art workshop. However, museum worthwhile for visit.

Nice place. Go early so you can avoid the heat and enjoy walking around the beautiful grounds. Some very nice works of art in each display room. Ticket included a free coffee/tea (iced or hot). Excellent value for the entry fee.

Super chilled out with hardly any people, had a nice time and had the place to ourselves. Entrance included an iced coffee or tea, which we enjoyed overlooking a rice field

Lovely place. Must visit if youre an art aficionado. You can actually meet the artists at work. Also if you go at a good time you can see the school kids learning balinese dancing and it is quite a visual to see over a 100 students learn dancing.

This was one of our favorite places in Ubud. The art gallery is a nice place to relax for an afternoon. Even better is the sprawling property here. Definitely make sure to walk around and check out the pools and water features on the property. In the heart of Ubud but feels like you are lost in the rice fields.

Without a doubt, the best museum in Bali and one of the best Art museum in the world. It showcase not only paintings, but you could also learn balinese way of life and culture. With a relatively cheap entrance, it is becoming a must visit place in Bali.

One of the finest place in Ubud to spend a nice quiet and enjoyable afternoon. Very very good collection of art, specifically paintings. Premises is very pristine and one enjoys just being there. A nice restaurant on the premise. Second part of the property is a very good resort and it's worth spending a weekend there. The art collection is all of local artists of Indonesia. Many of the paintings are marvelous to breathtaking.
