It is a beautiful temple surrounded with lush garden and water canal. This beautiful temple is an important place for religious activity for Balinese. There are pura, statue, and barong for yearly occassion. You can learn history and cultural aspect here from the competent guide.

This was a great stop on our tours around Bali. From the street I couldn't see what to really expect but as we entered and explored we were delighted with one temple after another. One highlight we had that day was a native lady making her offerings for the day. Her care in her worship was heartwarming to see. She would stop at each of her special locations to leave offerings and pray. I fun time was when a group of young Chinese girls asked if I would take their picture at one of the gates. Great place with lots of families on outings.

My second best favourite temple after Ulun Danu. The layout is really interesting and it is so peaceful and quiet to walk around it that you will really enjoy your time there while taking in the beautiful views.

If you’re an Indonesian, you’ll agree with me that this garden is (one of) the tidiest garden or park in Indonesia. Well worth noting that it’s actually a front gate toward the Temple compound inside. That’s why the condition is being kept tiny and very tranquil. If you’re from Western the tedious condition of the garden would remind you of those park in your homeland, yet of course with authentic Balinese feeling.
After going in, on the first right building there’s a mannequin display of the famous Balinese culture, cockerel fight. Pass that and go through to the inner part, there’s the Temple compound which meticulously designed considering it’s placing and size. Although you cannot enter the compound (my assumption it’s the same with Uluwatu, it’s only accessible for those who need to pray), the short brick fence allow you to see and take picture of the compound.
The outer track which surrounded the compound also carefully planted with high tree which gave you much more soothing breeze (especially considering my visit was during summer, the front area is very open and so hot). There are some small bench if you want to sit and there’s a building which act as an art souvenir shop at the far left corner.
This spot is a refreshing stop/rest point if you’re considering going across Bali (west-east/south north) which also act as a tourism spot. Very near to the garden also small convenience store and local food booth, which could provide you with F&B.

this is a nice temple. we went there in a sunny afternoon. a nominal ticket was there for entry. lattee we realized that the ticket amount was high in respect of what is there to see.
at first we were offeed a cloth to wear during entry. the whole place is surrended by water channel. except of a temple nothing is there to see.

Taman Ayun Temple was on our list when we skipped the tour and decided to simply rent a car to Ubud in Bali. We did a half day drive and had lunch overlooking the rice terraces, did some sightseeing in Ubud, and then made our visit to Taman Ayu Temple. The architecture was inspirational set beside a beautiful forest garden perfect for a cool walk. You are sure to never forget your stroll around the inner sanctum of the water temples.

Another UNESCO site in Bali. There are 3 courts to visit. There's only one worth taking great photos which is the 3rd court. The other 2 are just mediocre. Beware of mosquitoes. There're many ponds with still water behind this temple which become breeding ground for mosquitoes.

Good sight seeing experience, with 3 main court yards and a huge garden to soak in the beautiful architecture and Balinese design.
Entrance tickets are Rupiah 20k per person for foreigners (Rupiah 10k for locals). Female visitors will be given one sarong to cover up before entry.
You probably end up spending 30 - 45 minutes here, with some walking around and photography of the sights.

Though this is not a big temple it is one of the beautiful and attractive temple in Bali. Very nicely laid out garden and the moat around the main temple is really impressive. The temple architecture is very interesting especially the top part. It’s relaxing to walk around the temple complex. Worth visiting this temple while in Bali.

It's an oasis in the middle of bali's traffic madness, unbelievably beautiful, like a movie set, and yet so tranquil. It's not so crowded as the other temples. Don't miss it.
Jayan Vidanapathirana (09/09/2017 08:52)

Taman Ayun literally translates as ‘beautiful garden’ and is generally regarded as one of the most attractive temples of Bali. The Taman Ayun temple is situated in a beautiful park with trees and ponds, near the village of Mengwi in the south of Bali

Entrance fee was 20k per person when I went. Very quiet place. Serene. Not too many tourist come here so there are plenty of photo opportunities. Lots of areas to walk around and just enjoy the area.

Beautiful, quiet and unique temple surrounded by canals and river. You can spend around 2 hours here just to enjoy its peaceful atmosphere.

Pretty and serene - less tourists. Behind there's a really nice botanical gardens. The temple has a series of very high 'towers' dedicated to different deities - makes a very nice photo.

It was a fun temple to see on beautiful grounds. Pretty cheap tickets as well only 20,000 pp. What also was great was no crowds. There were only a few other people there besides us!

Beautiful Tempel and surroundings. For the 20.000 entrance fee it is definitely worth the visit.

Interesting temple, especially when learn about how the Balinese rice farmers allocate and share water. Easy to get around. I was in crutches and could do it pretty easy.

Pura Taman Ayun magnificent temple surrounded by lake, The Taman Ayun “beautiful garden” gives serenity and tranquillity for tourists."
Pura Taman Ayun, The temples in Bali are usually crowded since there are group of tourist or backpackers who are exploring the different kinds of temples.
If you want to take a break and find tranquillity amidst the hordes of people, Taman Ayun is the ideal place.
Luthfan Julian Nugroho (12/07/2016 15:28)
Good place... but it was closed when i came there at 17:00... how awful i am. But it's been so beautiful from out there... it's good temple, and has a good history!

Deepu Vinod (14/06/2016 06:19)
Neatly maintained temple grounds with a lot of ancient trees. The temple itself is inaccessible to tourists but you can walk around the grounds, by the surrounding moat. Don't miss the huge traditional figurine of Dewi Sri (the goddess of rice) sitting in a pavilion near the toilets.
Vinod Kumar (13/06/2016 01:47)
Very simple structures, but extremly good ambience.
Lewis Lexter Yap (21/04/2016 08:59)
When we went here, there was no crowd making it a superb experience. To view the temples without anyone blocking your view. Make sure to go around the vicinity and experience the tranquility of the place.
You can also get a great opportunity to have a group or family photo hear amongts the gate.

Taman Ayun is our holly temple and the umbrella of the great King of Mengwi. On top of beauty of the lanscape, the great design of Hindhu temple, and its peacefulness you will feel the 'Taksu' once you arrived there. A place you must see when visiting Bali
