Watched this beach club grown from strength to strength for the past 7 years. It has earned itself as the "place" to be at when you’re in Bali. There are chic sun beds for hire and a live DJ set that are essentially for sun down tunes. Friendly and attentive staff tending to your needs. Yes, sometimes it's worth it to get out of the villa and explore.

Packed with lots of people from early morning. You will have to go really early to stop yourself from being on the waiting list which can range from 2 to 5 hours. Minimum spending of 500k rupiah for the beds by the pool and 300k rupiah for the ones by the beach, just note that it is by groups. Which means it is very cheap compared to other highly recommended beach clubs. We went twice one at 3pm to only have beds by the pool at around close 8pm and another at 11am to only get it at 2.30pm. If you want better experiences i'd recommend other places.

Excellent venue. Good security as you come in, just make sure you have finished any water you are carrying. Staff are really Friendly and helpful, the venue was fantastic with chilled out vibes and everyone relaxing and having a good time. The food was fantastic with decent sized portions. Some reviews have complained about the cost but I have paid much more in Perth for much less, I thought the prices are fair. Cocktails were strong too! Definitely recommend and will come back. Skip Ku De Ta and head over to this place!

This is a place you cannot miss when you're in Bali. The vibes were amazing. Go early to grab a lounge by the pool and just soak in the atmosphere for two hours. Drinks were reasonably priced. The staff may have their hands full at all times due to the insane customer traffic but they will accommodate you to the best of their abilities. Food was OK. Will definitely come again

Great beach club with infinity pool and lounge beds near the beach. The food is very good. The place looks really fine and the say the dress code is smart casual but they are not strict with that at all. You can get in wearing swimming shorts and a poloshirt. Great place to be. I recommend to reserve a table in advance if you do not like to queue.

Certainly one of the more unique and interesting spots in the tourist zone. Exceptional design and very good service in a mostly chaotic environment. Decent food (hit or miss) and good drinks. If you can tolerate the hordes of drunk tourists it can be a very fun afternoon or loungey evening. They really do a good job and have thought of almost everything.

As you walk in you just know you are about to walk into something special. The shutters that line the walk into the entrance are legendary.
Ideally you’d want to come here for a whole day and most of the night - the atmosphere is electric, the vibe is just on point. The food ( I had the curry duck ) was excellent and would have again and again.
I sincerely cannot wait to go back.

Good vibe and atmosphere. The staff here are very courteous and polite even though the beach club is perpetually busy. They are helpful and try to accommodate you the best they can. Food and drinks here are very well priced considering how popular and well maintained the beach club is. If you’re after a day bed, best to book one in advance. Otherwise the queue for a day bed during the day is extremely long and it is impossible for you to get one while the sun is still up. All other seats along the perimeter of the building and on the lawn is free seating and works on a first come first serve basis. I personally prefer the mats on the lawn to a day bed as I feel it’s much more chilled on the lawn. There are extremely limited seats on the lawn so do keep a lookout for one when someone leaves. You can also sit in the restaurant for food and drinks but you will be not be allowed to access the pool or beach from the restaurant. The environment of the beach club is very chilled and family friendly. A lot of parents bring their kids along for a fun day out by the pool or beach. However, there is one downside; the music. Music played at the beach club is disappointing and needs a serious revamp.

I didn't know what this place was - I think we just wanted to go there because it was called potato head.
I had no expectations, but it turned into a very nice evening. We had dinner, which was the best food we had in Bali. Mocktails were delicious, and tuna tartar crispy cone things were particularly good.
After dinner we went to the loungers in front of the beach and drank some coffee and had dessert.
I would definitely go back :)

I have come here about seven times and it is always such a lovely view of the sunset, there is a big pools and I love the swim up bar. There is two levels with dining areas and day beds. They have a big range of cocktails and mocktails as well as great food. One thing to note is that is isn’t cheap so not somewhere to come every night, a great experience though. I highly recommend to everyone and this is part of the perfect Bali experience
Ali Steele (13/03/2018 07:37)
Excellent views and service.
There is no entrance fee.
You will most likely have to wait to grab a decent seat but they put you on a waiting list and call you when your seat is free.
Whilst waiting there are plenty of other seats around and the infinity pool has a bar to relax beside.
The decent seats cost nothing to use but a minimum spend of 500k on food or drink is encouraged. You can have a tab set up with your seat number instead of carrying cash to the pool or other bars.

Great view of the ocean while dining as usual. Good background music. Good selection is good but menu seems to keep rotating. Food has become pricier than I recall? Excellent staff service. Very attentive and polite. Know the menu well and can articulate well. Very well trained staff. Can’t say that for all a lot of the upscale restaurants here. Will definitely be one of the places that we will always return to when we come to Bali.
Tamara Madison (17/11/2017 04:33)
As my first time coming here, I must say I was highly impressed with the food. We chose to sit in the Indonesian food section, instead of the American food section and we were not disappointed.
The food was AMAZING! And if you like wonderful flavours and spice, I’m positive you’ll enjoy. The manager even came over to ask how we liked it and to provide any feedback, which I thought was excellent! I would return in a heartbeat.
Scott Rowe (27/10/2017 06:29)
This place lives up to the hype.
The structure alone is epic.
After security you feel at home.
Amazing staff! Don't be put off by the 550K daybed price as you'll spend it in one round with food. Worth every cent.
Dip your toes or go in head first to cool off, the infinity pool is refreshing even in off season.
Enjoy the beats and enjoy your day.

We had dinner at Potato Head on 12 September 2017. Once we had battled through the challenge of I) the Bali traffic, II) getting lost and III) finding parking – I think we took the last place in the parking zone (also a major construction area) – why is this? – we managed to work our way into the beach club / restaurant.
Though we expected this to be a highlight of the restaurant choices in Bali, unfortunately we left disappointed. The area is more geared towards being a beach / pool club and more of a party place than an intimate dinner place. But if that is what you are looking for, well then you will fit right in. This really wasn’t my scene though. If you are looking for a dinner place with loud music over the speakers, instead of a nice, intimate, cozy dinner, then this place is ideal. Again, not my idea of an enjoyable evening. There are just too many people wandering around doing too many different things – not what I expected when I made the reservation, and not what I expect when choosing a restaurant.
We arrived reasonably early so we could enjoy the beach club prior to dinner. We selected cocktails and waited at the bar upstairs for our dinner reservation. The cocktails are super expensive though quite tasty and a reasonable selection. Use the chance to enjoy the sunset from the balcony overlooking the beach club while waiting for your reservation.
Once our reservation time arrived we made our way to the restaurant. To be fair, the food was really tasty. One of the highlights of the meals was the chicken salad. The dessert too was good. Although the atmosphere was not agreeable, the food was good.
If you are looking for a nice and quiet romantic dinner in Bali, Potato Head is NOT your place. Overall, of the seven restaurants that we visited in Bali, we ranked Potato Head dead last, 7 out of 7. And how about the way they force you to leave through the gift shop? Avoid Potato Head in Bali – there are too many other choices to waste a meal here.
India Stanton (27/09/2017 04:59)
Once you get through security you reach a beautiful, atmospheric mid-century style retreat on the beach front. A great place to spend the day relaxing and really forget where (or when) you are.
Lots of seating in every imaginable configuration and an infinity pool facing the ocean. Great variety of craft cocktails offered for a fair price. Could only be made better with happy hour.
The bathrooms were out of this world!

V trendy. Full of people who think they are way cooler than they really are. Take your sunglasses off. It's well after sunset. You're not hip. You're trying too hard. Service was good; snacks-- especially the slaw-- were v good. Music was cool if you're into beats:
Wolston Lobo (15/08/2017 23:35)
Pros:
1. Great ambiance
2. Good people
3. Great service.
4. Nice pool and music
Cons:
There are wait times in peak seasons (we went in December) since this place is so popular.
The prices might seem more expensive than other places but its worth it.
Overall, highly recommended.
John Nance (11/08/2017 02:35)
A group of four of us were very keen to check this place out, one of us having been there before a couple years back and hearing the hype.
The decor and style of the place is amazing and definitely on point, however that comes with a catch. The complete and utter rigidity of the place meant we couldn't get out fast enough. If you like that pretentious feeling comparible to the Ivy in Sydney with prices similar to that, you'll love it.
There is no where to sit unless you reserve a bed which there was none. So on a busy day you will spend your time standing. We decided to sit on the grass, moments later we were told that grass sitting was not allowed and were pointed in the direction of another area to sit. We moved up there and the same thing happened again and we were told the exact area we could sit, but that was first in best dressed. The sunset is also blocked by a massive stage and the crowd sort of stood awkwardly in their groups not interacting with others.
We walked maybe 5 minutes up the beach and found many places which offered friendly service, places to actually sit, relax and take in the sunset view, with a round of drinks costing 1/4 of that at potato head.
Good luck to potato head, but this isn't what people want when they come to Bali. We can get this exact same vibe back at home.

We arrived Friday at 11:00pm, got greeted at the entrance by Security, big smile, happy Chappy, that's a good sign. Went up the main foyer, greeted by a waitress, ever so friendly offered you can sit anywhere. Walked down to the DJ box and sat down right on the beach side. Su, the waiter was attentive and drinks flowed with no wait time.
Awesome house vibes by the DJ, great night setting, will be back to try the food next time.
2 thumbs up, loved it!

In terms of location and atmosphere.. The place is Awesome!!
The issue here is the place is full of people. You need to reserve a table and stay with a group so you can get some good service.. otherwise if you are coming alone or witb one person for the bar area, you might wait for so long so someone can come and take your order.. which can be very annoying!!
Overall.. I will give it 7/10.. not recommended for solo or small group without previous reservation..
Very good for big group who will take more than a table..
Plus, the prices are on western standers.. So its not cheap bring your wallet and credit cards.. its very easy to get 150$ usd bill for dinner and 2 or 3 cocktails..

It's a really nice restaurant. The view is perfect. The food are so delicious. You can go to the pool and the beach. Great place to relax and enjoy some food

From the moment my friend and I walked into Potato Head to the moment we left we were nothing but satisfied. Just wow! The view, the staff, the food, the pool, the drinks are amazing! We got to Potato Head around 10am and was greeted by a lovely lady who informed us that the sun beds were a minimum spend of 500,000IR which we thought was amazing considering that allowed us to stay here all day and spend 250,000 each on food and drink. The drinks were presented amazingly and the food tasted delicious! Our waiter Wolly/Wally (unsure of the spelling) was fantastic! He made us laugh and was very attentive to our needs. Anyone going to Bali, this place is a MUST! My friend and I stayed here for a total of 8 hours and enjoyed every minute of it. Can't wait to return!
Julius Tan (26/05/2017 12:17)
Lovely resort. Long wait for day beds or cabanas so get there early. 500k minimum spending required to get a daybed (can be done before or after actually getting the spot) and 1 million minimum spending for the premium cabanas. The whole place tends to get crowded but it doesn't deter from the fun.
Lots of good drink options. Food was delicious. Surprisingly, most of the menu options were American dishes.
Roman Forkosh (21/04/2017 11:10)
Great atmosphere and drinks - music is chill, people are relaxing, and the ocean view + sunset are amazing. Cocktails are superb! Came here around 5pm, before it picked up, and found it pretty easy to get seated and to enjoy the scene. A must try when in Kuta!
MissWendyWooo (18/04/2017 02:24)
Although this place is known for watching the sunset, I'd recommend to get there early in the day while it's still quiet. Grab a day bed and enjoy their cocktails. Mai Tai and the Koko Loco (citrus in coconut water non-alcoholic) are delicious. The service is fantastic. Ali our waiter one of the days was beautiful. Will be coming back next time in Bali.
Ellie Weston (17/04/2017 12:10)
A bit of a long wait for a cabana but got one eventually! Food and cocktails both great. Swim up bar, pool and great view! Had a great day hanging out here!
Ashley Williams (25/03/2017 06:50)
We arrived around 11 AM on a Saturday, just in time to get one of the few remaining beach beds before it got packed. They require $500K minimum for a beach bed, but we easily spent twice that on cocktails and a light lunch for two. All of the cocktails were interesting and delicious, and we especially enjoyed ordering in the pool from the swim up bar! Wear a swimsuit, bring sunscreen, (towels are not needed) and enjoy the afternoon!
Nathan Zhao (18/03/2017 08:29)
Despite being overly touristy, the Indonesian cuisine at the restaurant is amazing! We had a lush curry served in a coconut and some noodles. Unlike other places the serving sizes are good. Service great
Eugene Tandean (23/02/2017 00:34)
Potato Head Beach Club is perfect for afternoon chill. It's completely free entry even though you only want to enjoy their pool and beach without ordering any food. The music was great and the ambience is totally cool.
Ben Hacker (20/02/2017 03:15)
I really enjoyed this club. It provided a great relaxing way to visit the beach, drink, eat and people watch in a very relaxing environment. FYI that Google Maps shows the location of this incorrectly as it really is right at the beach. Basically the format is that you go in and grab a seat... the beds / umbrellas near the main pool (infinity pool overlook beach) and closest to the beach cost a bit of money if I recall, and the other chairs / couches do not. And then you just pay for the food / drink you buy. As a rough cost estimate, my wife and I spent 5 hours at and had food + 3 drinks each, plus waters to stay hydrated, and our bill was approximately $100 USD all in.
Julia Vize (08/02/2017 19:54)
Amazing atmosphere! Such an amazing view from the pool and a fun little kids pool as well! Drinks are so unique and the food was spectacular. A little pricier than most of Bali, but it was a wonderful experience!
Rachel SantaOlalla (30/01/2017 21:07)
Cool place, crowded and long wait (2-2.5 hours) for a day bed but we were meeting friends so it worked out. We went in the rainy season (unknowingly) and the beaches are dirty so this was a good alternative. Personally won't ever go to Seminyak again (not my vibe) but if you love to party you'll like it here. Prices are a bit high, good cocktails, but definitely not the Asia budget we were hoping for. Some staff are very friendly, but not all- as usual for most places in Bali thus far.
Nikki W (12/12/2016 07:30)
If you are in Bali, I definitely recommend this place to visit. It has a wonderful beach and pool view. The cocktails are really great, as well is the food. You can even have drinks at the pool bar. It is a bit expensive, but this comes with a high service and a great location. During high/peak season, come early to get a spot on the beds!
Ana Gonzalez Escudero (16/09/2016 05:55)
Be careful with your stuff. Pickpockets lure in this club.
If you are careful enough, no issues! The club is as beautiful as fun. The iconic window wall speaks for the decor of the club, original at every corner.
Music was EDM when I went. Not sure if that is the case every night. Either way, the sound system is great and they have very cool party props the djs can use.
Furthermore, they have a pool inside the club! And you can swim in it! So fantastic! (not sure about how well they are keeping with safety regulations though.... ).
Will definitely be back !
Russell Hall (08/09/2016 06:55)
Incredible building (beware water bottles not allowed) with a beautiful interior - lawn, open bar and restaurant area, infinity pool overlooking the beach with a bar in the pool!
Nice service though not quick. Cocktails and dinner food delicious if not cheap. Beware it's impossible to get a seat anywhere in leak season without booking.
Greg Keenan (07/09/2016 03:24)
Didn't actually enjoy it. Went at sunset it was packed. Lots of groups young ones. Drunks. Stayed 5 mins. I guess would be better when not so busy. KU DE TA better vibe and not so young, better for 35 plus. It's a cool place just that there are plenty of other places to chill.
Brendan Hong (31/08/2016 05:31)
Great beachside pool club in Seminyak.
Staff are really friendly, helpful and attentive.
Food was surprisingly good, with reasonably prices.
Pool was great, maybe a little over-chlorinated, but perfect temperature for the weather.
Ranjau Mungil (13/08/2016 00:15)
This is a nice beach club with a wonderful architecture, a beautiful pool and bar. Music is good. Great sunset view. Food is soso. I went there 6 months ago with my cousin and aunt. The staff wasn't very friendly to locals. There were so many security guards there. Surprisingly, the security guards were friendlier than the other staff. Still, it's a cool place to visit and hangout with friends though.
Davin Chen (19/06/2016 09:24)
Happening beach club. Good place to dine and enjoy the sunset. Do reserve to avoid the long queues. Not a place for quiet dining. The food is good but a little expensive.
I Dewa Gede Arie Susila (19/05/2016 22:47)
Awesome place if you want to spend the afternoon. Great view from top or bottom is the place. Good food but a little over priced. Great for a hang out with some drinks. The architecture is awesome. Would love to be back again with friends.
Mary Aracena (15/05/2016 08:46)
A lovely beach club that has amazing food. It started to rain in the middle of our day here and we were forced to run inside.
Insider's TIP: Make sure to arrive early at about 10am to secure a seating area of your own next to the pool. The prime spots fill up quickly.

Awesome atmosphere, very social if you want to meet and talk to other people. Crowded in a good way. Recommend getting there early to get a cabana. Well priced. Highly recommend!
