Would be nice to be able to go up close to where the names of the victims could be read more easily. But perhaps the fence is there to keep vandalism at bay. One must view the names from 10 meters away.

It is good monument. I hope such tragedy will never happen again here and anywhere else.

A monument to remember those who died in the Bali Bombing. There is also a small fountain. Many people take selfies with it, which is in my opinion disrespectful.
It is in the heart of Kuta l, on Jl. Legian. Very crowded street, full of smog.

A place to visit when you are in Bali to remember all those lives lost. It has been well kept. Go there to pay some respect.

I go to the monument regularly and offer prayers for the dead. The official death rate is 202 people killed (including 88 Australians, 38 Indonesians, and people of many other nationalities, as well as the bombers. Many additional people died and could not be identified. Those of us who worked on the relief effort were aware of this. Establishing identity requires forensic evidence and where this could not be established remains were cremated. This process continued for up to 12 months after the bombing. I suspect the bulk of those who could not be identified were Indonesian workers in the informal sector and that there are families, to this day, are still waiting for the return of their loved ones.

Although this is a significant place, it has been built very tastefully, quite a grand monument. People from everywhere stop to have a look and many more take photo's. I noticed that the Japanese were the biggest viewer's here. If you've not had the chance to see it, it's worth the effort!
