TO ABSOLUTELY AVOID !
Totally dishonest money changer.
He offers the best rate but steals some of the money he has counted in front of you.
When he saw I was checking again, the guy tried to put the money back and said that I had to pay a 10% tax.
I wish I could report it to the authorities...
Prefer the official money changers. Offices like BMC

Offers the highest rate but they dont have enough money to give...kept asking what hotel we're staying at and where we were going, then after being visably frustrated with the dumb questions and the fact they dont have enough money they tried to ask of my money was fake so I grabbed my money and left...in short stay far away from this place

Dishonest money changer.
The money changer offered to bundle up the Indonesian rupiah after we counted them. When I returned to the hotel and counted again, it was short of USD50 worth of IDR. That's when I realized that the cash must have been taken during the 'bundle' process.
Afterwards I heard from friends that such incidents are rampant and had happened to them too.
Expensive lesson learnt. :)
