My father was really into this hotel since the first time he found out about the place on the internet. Since it was fully booked, we decided to just see the place (just to clear off the curiosity from my father and maybe plan a future trip there) while we're in Bali. It turned out to be the worst experience of our time in Bali. When we first arrived, the receptionist was talking on the phone for quite some time (internal matters since she was talking with local language) and because it took effort to got here (it's located in a very remote place, the road was small) we waited for her. After that, she told us that we needed to purchase an entry ticket @IDR 100k PLUS spend a minimum IDR 200k for Food and Beverage. Yeah, we CANNOT see the place freely prior to booking. So then I argued a bit because I was also working in a hotel and we did a lot of free unit inspections, like it's not a big deal and it's a way to attract customers. Finally she let ONLY ONE OF US in accompanied by the laziest security member ever. To sum up, they might have fancy, nice villa and facilities, but we are very disappointed of the service and will never spend our money there!

Beware, if you want to sleep peacefully, this is NOT the place to go. The hotel, which is multiple bungalows, is located against a village and a road. I couldn't sleep for a full night because of 10ish dogs barkings from 1 to 5pm, then cocks, birds and motorcycles passing by. The bungalows are really not sound proofs at all. On top of that, the restaurant is expensive and not that good.
That being said, the place is really lovely. The pop. Area is really nice with a private access to the beach. The staff is really nice and facilitating. Scooter available for rent 50k/d.
Without the noise, that would be a 4 or even a 5 star.

Has everything we could want and more Very lush and beautiful landscaping throughout- feels like an oasis. wide variety of comfortable places to relax and take in the sublime views including plenty of shady spots that avoid the mid day heat. The 2 different infinity pools are very impressive and perfect to watch sunsets. Staff are very friendly and attentive. Although the restaurant is not really to our tastes (very westernised) they do make very good quality thin crust pizza made in wood oven. The food is pricey for Bali but you are paying for the location. We found some interesting places within a quick walk from the resort including little food vendors, couple of warsngs and Balangan Beach, which at sunset you can see up to 30 bride and grooms having photoshoots!!

Loved staying here! I wish I could go back already. It is a bit off the beaten trail, so be prepared to not have anything nearby to walk to. With that said, despite being in the middle of nowhere, there were almost always taxis outside waiting to take people. The room was incredible. I believe that the rooms/suites are all privately owned(?), and they get rented out independently so they do vary a little on size, cost, and decorations, but for the most part they all seemed similar from what I could tell. The location, while being in the middle of nowhere, is great. La Joya is perched at the top of a cliff overlooking the ocean. AMAZING sunsets. There is an infinity pool that overlooks the ocean as well as a bar, restaurant and another pool. The food was really good, the drinks were good, and the staff was very nice. Don't forget to tip your bartenders! We had laundry taken care of here and the turn around time was quick--about 14 hours to get everything back clean and dry. The only thing I recommend is to be careful about the location of which room you pick to rent. There are usually a few up at a time, so look at a map to see where the room is situated on the property. The room we stayed in was RIGHT next to the pool and bar, so it was EDM-bass-pumping until almost 10pm. While normally I'd be into that sort of thing, it starts to suck when the music comes on around 9am and keeps jamming for another 12 hours straight. Alcohol helps.

Beautiful resort and great food. The view from the resort is breathtaking. The resort also has a small private beach at the bottom of the cliff. Only issue is that it's slightly secluded. So it is advised that travel arrangements be made accordingly.

Awesome place that offers a relaxing spa, but unfortunately the public toilet is so yuck

La Joy Bui Bui has an incredible view, great spa and nice rooms. The problem is it is too crowded and busy with large groups of tourists for he $200/night price tag. This is probably a spot more suited to a young family with a big budget.

Experienced bad customer service at the spa. Had expectation for good customer service because it's a 5 star resort but felt ripped off and left uncomfortable instead.

There are two different La Joya. Biu biu is cool, the second one is just nothing and doesn't cost that money

Please be very careful with all your personal belongings as we got our room robbed there (about 150 EUR were stolen) and the hotel manager refused to take responsibility of this serious security issue telling us it's our problem if door or window are not broken. They even didn't assist us enough to get in contact with police and help their guest by a huge problem of their place. As a host they are total disaster.
Amenities are nice but it's located in isolated place and the only option to gather some impressions of Bali is either to hire a scooter (which I don't recommend for your personal safety as traffic is insane with narrow overcrowded streets) or catch one of the "monopoly" private taxis on site which are way too overpriced compared to all other places on the island.
Restaurant is with really nice view but overpriced as well - a single sandwich is about 7 EUR and espresso is 3,5 EUR, which for the quality and quantity they offer (plus we are still talking about modest hotel in normally not expensive Indonesia) is way too much. On top of that we eyewitnessed situation with group of three families from Brasil which room bills were heavily overcharged (one of them almost trippled).
Bottom line if you want nice and relaxing stay without any troubles look for different options.

Staff great, awesome location, good pool but: due to design of our unit we could hear everything in the neighbours unit who were partying playing music until all hours. After dinner I had to wait in wet bathers while staff reset power for another unit that for some reason had to be done via our unit. No reception phone in our room.

Great views, nice rooms and good food at the restaurant. Staff were friendly. Cute little private beach 5 minute walk away. Need a scooter or taxi to get anywhere else though really.

Best view ever.
Got a massage here, on top of the cliff! The massage wasn't the best to be honest and is quite pricy but the view is so incredible.
I also enjoyed their infinity pool, I had such a good day.

A beautiful clifftop property. Absolutely gorgeous views from the infinity pool and the jacuzzi. Cannot beat the spa where you can get massages while listening to the ocean waves. Very polite staff and cozy villas. Perfect for honeymooners!
