One of the best architecture for Catholic Church.
Very unique and interesting.
Now the church open as a tourism destination.
Quite far from the city.
Better come on Sunday, when the traffic is not too crowded.
Large parking and very welcome from all the staff.
Recommended place to visit if you are travelling to this city.

A very unique worship place. mixing between 4/5 religion into one beautiful building. it located a bit far from the city crowded makes this place is so calm and quiet from business. give thumbsup for this beautiful building!

Although its quite hidden/far, it really offers unique experiences. You can pray inside the chapel at second floor. But remember to take off your shoes & do not take selfies there. Its prohibited on my second visit (dec 2017). You can have a bottle of holy water, write your pray, and explore each buildings there. parking lot is just across the Graha.
They will offer you a pashmina to cover if you happen to wear something to revealing. And its free.

A pleasant surprise in Medan the combination of Hindu and Catholicism is definitely a novelty. The church is well cared for with plenty of parking spaces. A must visit for someone who are into architecture and culture.

Perfect place for praying and wedding ceremony. We are the 1st who married there !!! And after 14 years, it turned so lovely place now. Full blessed. 😇😇

Usually church is building with cross on the top of the roof. But Velangkanni Church has a unique shape.

The church is so unique. With Hindu temple style look alike, people will not notice this is a church if they are not see inside the church complex. There are so many recites from Bible in many Indonesian local languages written on the walls.

This is a beautiful church. If you are in medan, put it in a must visit list. The architecture of this place is heavily influence of Hinduism and Catholicism. It was so colorful. There is no mass when we arrived as it was Sunday.

Person (a guy) who was taking care of the church was very rude. We went to see the "holy water" but he rudely came to us and said we must leave there. You are Not allowed to take pictures in any sections of this church as well. Not happy of spending so much time to go there.

No doubt that this is one of the unique churches (because of its Indian architecture). Surprisingly, I didn't really feel blown away with this church. Still, it is "must visit" place when you're in Medan. The place was pretty crowded due to Christmas day. So, I wish you Merry Christmas for those who celebrate it 😊😊😊

Father James Bharataputra greeted me immediately when we arrived and explained how it came to him in a vision and the Tamil influences. He also explained how all the paintings at the facility were done by a teenage boy who has since become famous. Don't forget to get yourself a bottle of the spring water behind the Virgin Mary Shrine on the right side of the main building.
