Great place to stay. They have rooms with balconies that over hang the river with hammocks & a relaxing Bench with the sound of the river it's automatic relaxatation and the jungle is all around you.
Rooms are clean and have everything you need, they serve food from 7am - 8pm if you want food.
If your looking for a break away from everything or if cities aren't your thing this is a good place to go in Bukit Lawang. Staff are very pleasant, very helpful and have lots of information for your stay and for your foward journey.
Dedek Ricco & family are brilliant.
If you get the bus from Medan airport its 40,000 and when that bus reaches its final destination, across the street you get one of the small pubic red buses which will have Bukit Lawang on the front of it. ***Don't get fooled by all the tuk tuk drivers waiting for you to get off the bus trying to charge you 100,000 each to bring you to the bus station 20 minutes away when all you need to do is walk 10metres.
###we got charged 40,000 each for this (which it should only be 20,000 with your bag). So haggle good & walk away if you have too as the bus driver only get 20,000 & the hustlers get the rest.

Great on a weekday for the downstairs room but on a public holiday or weekend it gets very noisy with children jumping into the river.

Absolutely stunning place. Clean and good facilities. Ricco and Dedek are really genuine and helpful people.
The room was well appointed with a super comfortable king size bed, sleeping right over the river rapids just aids in the best sleep I've had in ages.
The restaurant has a great menu and the cooks will easily adjust to your dietary requirements.
You can buy Bintang also, vodka can be purchased further down the lane but it's really expensive.
The nearest ATM is 11 km away in Bahorok so cash up before you come to Bukit Lawang.
I would not hesitate to come back and stay at Fido Dido, funny name, great place.

Great place to stay in Bukit Lawang.
Lovely views from the balcony - get room no 1 if you can.
Can be noisy at weekends but relaxing nonetheless.
The restaurant is good too - lovely chicken rendang and good breakfast.

Extrem nice and clean rooms!!!
Breakfast Lunch and Dinner taste good!!!
Direkt on Riverside.... the sound of water and Jungle is like meditation :-)

We stayed in a room for 3, one additional mattress was given. Nice view, huge bathroom, big balcony. The staff is helpful and friendly. Price negotiable.

We spend four nights in the better room with lake view and a large balcony with a hammock and had a great time. The room and bathroom were very clean and the staff friendly. The fan was sufficient for the climate in Bukit Lawang.
The restaurant serves good, freshly prepared food at good prices. Jungle tours can be booked directly (with the owner's brother).

Good place for enjoy bukit lawang. Excellent view, not far from parking.

The place is beautiful. The service is very good. There is a bar opposite that got live music untill late at night. Very noisy.
