" Really nice hostel. The place is very very clean. The stuff is also very nice and helpful with great tips. As the private room is almost the same price as a dorm bed we moved. Unfortunately the private room had no air conditioning though. Still this place is great to hang and chill. No party hostel. Also the food you can buy here (avocado on toast, smoothie bowls) is very delicious, but a bit pricy. If you want to save money just go to the kitchen and cook :) I had great three nights here, besides the heat during the night, and would come again! "

" Beautiful and comfortable. The garden is the best, the music playing quietly. Everything is very clean here and they provide a lot of services: WiFi, free tea and coffee, hot shower... The staff is really nice to customers and they speak English very well. In front of the hostel there is a laundry. "

" I didn't stay in this place. Just visited when I picked up my friend here. I thought this place was nice, escpecialy the lobby and garden because you could chill in nice garden with gazebo and hammock. Also, they had long table and bean bags so you could gather with some backpackers, read a book and play card or chest. "

" Me and my girlfriend initially planned to stay in Jogjakarta for two nights, but because of the very warm welcome and great vibe in Sae Sae, we decided to stay another day (if you'd know our busy schedule you'd know what a sacrifice it was to take one day) But Sae Sae and the beautifull Jogja made it TOTALLY worth it!
06 June 2015The first day Boy (the host) proposed to go to a yearly ritual to calm down the Merapi volcano, normally an event without that many tourists, but we were lucky enough to have the chance to go with them! (again thanks for that Boy!) We went with Asab, a wonderful man who showed us all kinds of great stuf about the culture of Indonesia and the horrors of living near an active volcano... An experience indeed! The hostess of Sae Sae is actually a young Belgium lady named Michelle and she also instantly made us feel right at home!
In Sae Sae you can take a beer and put up your feet in the lounge while meeting interesting people from all over the world (other guests), you can rent a motor bike right there so you don't have to go out and haggle for one, you could ask about a good place to eat (Boy knows about all the locals... like really ALL the locals..) and they'll probably go with you which was also a lot of fun (every time..), and most of all you have a great room for a great price with great hosts!
I could keep on writing about this awesome home stay but I think a review is best when kept short and to the point, so if you are still looking for a place in Jogja, just go to Sae Sae!
(Also thank you Boy for the goodbye-cinnamon rolls, they were delicious!!) "
