The Center for Disaster Studies of Gadjah Mada University (better known as PSBA UGM) was officially established on July 12, 1995 based on the Rector's Decree No. UGM / 89/3968 / UM / 01/37. The UGM Disaster Study Center is one of the centers of study within Gadjah Mada University which is engaged in disaster studies based on multidisciplinary science which was developed to contribute opinions, ideas, ideas related to disaster management to support various educational and community service activities. At the time of its establishment, the UGM Disaster Study Center was supported by the National Disaster and Refugee Coordination Agency (Bakornas PBP) and the United Nation Development Program (UNDP).
