" I love this museum! Its not far from Malioboro street. Its with air conditioner and a lot of beauty things in it, puppets, masks, traditional clothes, and others. This museum is really full, you can spend more time to look at any stuffs here. Its realy good to bring your kids to learn about cultures, not only Javanese, but the other too. If you tired after waking around and looking at the displays, there are guest seats available. So convinient, historic, lovable, and beautiful ♡♡ "

" My partner and I attended the Saturday night Shadow puppets theatre .. culturally it was fantastic to see the puppets in use and full band out front, as an experience we enjoyed it.
04 February 2018It could however do with a little injection of energy, it's difficult to follow being in the local language and not Bahasa Indonesian, even with the pamphlet provided which explains the scenes.
Maybe if it was put on a little less and the lights were made that much stronger it would improve the two hours of not really understanding what is going on.. worth a trip at least for the 20k/person to keep the tradition alive. "

" It is a good and well-known museum located in the middle of Jogjakarta. This place is such a great place to know about the royal family that live in Kraton. Then, another tourist attraction is the puppet show (wayang) in the evening. It is worthed to watch, especially for every tourist. This place is also easily find, located at the north of Alun-alun Kidul. "

" Very nice museum with a general overview of the ancient Indonesian culture. Go for the guided visit, you need to tip at the end the guide, which was a very nice lady. There is leather puppet company, Sulistyo, where you can see how the leather puppets are made and if you want you can buy them. We bought one for 1 million rupies... it is such an art piece. "
