" If we want to eat here, we'll have to book a table first because everyone wants to eat here. What makes it special is that we can try those foods that Sultan's family likes or recommends. The ambience was very nice; it feels like you're eating inside the Keraton of Yogyakarta, the food didn't take too long to prepare (although a lot of guests were here). I'd like to say that most of the dishes here are soulfood, mostly Indonesian's. Lastly, the price was affordable. "

" The restaurant is in the Sultans palace complex in Yogyakarta . The menu includes dishes from the Sultans own kitchen. There is a certain charm to the place which I would put down as amalgamation of elegance and old world charm.
The food is very different from what one gets in regular restaurants in Yogyakarta . There isn't much for vegetarians though.The portions aren't very large.The presentation is good and the service fairly prompt. And like most places in Yogyakarta the service is with a smile.
Overall a nice place for a meal if you enjoy a meal in a Javanese style covered pavilion without a.c..
The ambience is casual though the local guests seem to be the upwardly mobile gentry of Yogyakarta. "

I tried the Semur Burung Dara, a whole pigeon cooked with sweet soy sauce. Very javanesse with big portion, but not as sweet as I expected.

Read the menu's description to feel the atmosphere and pick your choice, whether you want to be like a Sultan, princes or else. Looks like every member of the royal family in every generation has different favorite. "
