" Wow, where's do I start... If you're coming here, it's to have a SCUBA-divng holiday in one of the best diving destinations in the world. Diving, snorkelling and related day-trips are the focus of the resort.

The package I had included all food and 3-4 dives a day. Soft drinks and alcohol are extra (bill settled at check out). Meals include a mix of western and Indonesian dishes. Vegetarian options are available, but they are unlikely to be able to accommodate coeliac requirements. It's hard to go hungry as snacks or lunch are provided after each dive.

Most of the accommodation is double or twin-share "pondoks" - traditional style huts out over the ocean. There is a single "family" pondok that can accommodate four people in a two-by-two arrangement, either double or twin-share. It also has a common room in the middle.

The house reef has a great variety of life for snorkelling and night dives. There are also mandarin fish nearby. The resort has torches and mask filters for fluoro diving.

Free Nitrox is available on day dives, but air is the only option for night dives.

Many dive sites are a short boat rider away. Day trips (with two dives) are available for attractions that are further away. No matter what kind of critters you want to see, they have a site for it, from macro to coral to fish and up to mega fauna. Drift dives and reef hooking are options. There are little to no wrecks, though.

The staff are knowledgeable, friendly and very helpful.

The resort has partnered with researchers in multiples fields. The house reef is host to a coral regeneration project whose aim is to find techniques to regenerate reefs damaged by dynamite and cyanide fishing.

The resort has also partnered with the local village to provide work, training and experience to members of the community. The dive guides are a skilled and enthusiastic team who go out of their way to make sure that you have a good experience. "

" Paradise but most of all great people! Be prepared to discover a place you will want to come back to! This is my third time at Papua explorers resort. The first trip I came for the dives, the second trip I came to continue exploring and to complete my padi advanced with divers I knew I trusted, the third trip I came again because nothing compares to this place!

Searching for pristine waters and protected nature? It is the place to be. Searching for authentic moment amongst passionate people who really make a change into the planet’s protection? This is the place to be. Searching for a peaceful yet joyful hotel with all the comfort you need? This is also the place to be! Searching for surprising and mind blowing dives where macro meets big species? Guess the answer!

The dive center is very well equipped. And very well organised as well. Neat, clean, with space to dry your wetsuits and store your things to be ready for the next dive! Here you can count on every single dive guide to show you the hidden gems of the dive spots and they do it with the heart. Tell them what you’d like to see and they’ll do everything they can to find the little pygmee seahorse hidden in a coral fan or the pretty little box fish. The generosity of the Papuan people you’ll meet here will gain your heart. The crew is always happy and they are very attentive to the guests, making you feel special and mostly making you feel safe! And let’s talk about the management staff? If you meet Tunc, Tresye, Lynn and Apo, be prepared to be very well taken care of and to enjoy meaningful moments with each of them. Here everyone work with passion, and it is contagious! Their dedication and kindness are also what makeshift this place so special and it contributes to the atmosphere of the place where every diver exchange very easily their experience of diving with smiles and funny anecdotes. Every time I come here I meet very diverse people from all around the world, of different ages and doing different works, and it’s always very nice to be able to all share our passion for marine life together.

About the resort? In the kitchen, everyone is also working hard to prepare tasteful dishes. The rooms are very well taken care of and all the handcrafted furniture make the rooms very authentic and special. You’ll stay in very spacious bungalows facing the immensity of the turquoise waters, you’ll hear the waves and the gentle wind, the birds around in the morning. At sunset go to the jetty with a glass of wine you won’t be disappointed!

Keen on knowing more about the amazing mantas and about coral gardening? Meet Arno who is so passionate about conservation and well aware of science that you’ll have mind opening conversations and you’ll discover a lot about reef restoration and its impact on the planet, and of course about the oceanic and reef mantas. This funny smart french scientist and dive center manager will make you feel very comfortable while diving but will also propose a very diverse dive schedule which will allow you to enjoy your dives every day more.

Be prepared to be amazed! Am already planning my next trip! And you?

" Spent my honeymoon here and this dive resort has been the funnest experience I've ever had. The staff and services are top notch. Please note that this is an eco resort, so there are a few leisurely accommodations not there to help protect the reefs and environment. I would highly recommend to anyone. +++ "

" Amazing holiday, great dives, beautiful accommodations, yum food. Most importantly for this place was the diving of course (breathtaking) and the staff. The staff including management, kitchen, dive guides, boat crew, to the guys refreshing the roof and housekeeping were such a welcoming beautiful bunch. Hakim in particular helped me, through humour, hone a few dive skills while I was there. The dive guides I was paired with were also amazing. I can't fault the place. "

" A great place to dive in Raja Ampat: cabins built over the water, relaxed staff, good relations with the nearby village which represents about 70% of the staff. Very good dive guides and some fabulous sites. Other activities include snorkeling and day trips to villages or bird walks. "
