" Alot of mixture of Malaysian and Indonesian sellers here. Parking space is available right next to the market. The goods offered here are not really cheap and not really good as well. But visiting this place for the first time just to experience it, is ok "

" This is a weekend market where the concept is similar to The market Rantau Panjang, Kelantan and Padang Besar, Kedah (Chaktuchak can be referred to as well but the size of Serikin is way way too small than Chaktuchak). You can find all types of item from snacks, handmade mat with local motives (and other handmade rattan and wood furniture as well) and cloths (reminded me of my college years in Kelantan-the jeans are back!).
You can expect clean toilet (important for me) at the start of your journey with a tat of entrance fee (maybe RM0.20 or RM0.50, I can’t remember, but no more than RM0.50/person/entry), so no worries there. But there will be no other preferred toilet (at least not for me because there will be another toilet at an eatery shop located at an almost 3/4 of the market). Halal Food (also important to me) can be found somewhere near the parking lot, also located at the entrance of the market. That’s the recommended cafe. I will update the name when reviewing this place again at a later time. Although not much choices in their menu, the food still taste alright. However, if you are not looking for halal food, you can eat at any of the cafe available.
If you are from Kuching, please start your journey from Kuching at around 6:30am. The time taken to reach Serikin from Kuching is around 1 hour. You can enjoy a nice scenery along your journey once you have reached Bau District. Do bring your umbrella as the weather is extremely hot (more than 30’C) especially after 8am. Do expect a nice weather (although hot) as from my experience going there few times, never once have I experienced rainy weather even when other places along your journey to Serikin is raining.
Of course people who go to this type of market will try to negotiate prices of goods. You can do that but don’t expect the seller can lower down prices so much. It’s always a good idea to start your trip in Serikin as early as you can (not before 7am as no shop will be open) because the seller can give you good price because they believe that first sell is a blessing for them to get more sales during the day.
Of course operation hour is important (i almost forgot): 7am to 1pm only on Saturday and Sunday. Even though I stated here operation hour is until 1pm, I dont recommend you go there at 12pm as most of the shops start to do closing. "

" A great place to find rare and cheap indonesian products. I only wish that the parking space be improved. And the road where people walk to do their shopping can be dangerous when there are cars on it. Overall, it is still a great place to do some shopping for cheap and original indonesian products. "
