" Had a disappointing experience. Tried the steamed chicken and the asam pedas fish. The chicken meat was tough, rubbery and rather tasteless. The rice was overcooked with too much water so there was no texture. The fish was ok and the reason why this is not a 1-star review. "

" Nice restaurant. I heard that they were always busy, but dining at 6pm would not experience it . Price is reasonable. "

" Like the steamed chicken very much. It is so juicy and tender.
23 May 2018The rice ball is ordinary, just another unique way to eat it "

" Crazy queue to eat there. Mostly by the tourists from oit of country. The food is so-so. Portions are small though. Didnt get the value for money. Honestly its over rated, shop owner should improve on cleanliness and hygiene. Price is affordable. "

" The chicken rice taste so so...
19 April 2018Pricey, and the service is rude
Weekdays not pack, but after 7.30pm the kitchen is closing, and when asked for additional chilli just easily say NO, no mode chilly even though the kitchen still have.
Not recommended, and don't be cheated by the nice decorations inside the restaurant. "

" Tourist catered restaurant with unique decor and exterior in the middle of china town. Cendol with Gula Melaka is ok, although not enough toppings so the flavor is not strong enough. Service was ok. One of the better hygiene restaurants around. Overall, good place for tourists to have lunch. "

" Quality seems to have deteriorated. Rice ball was nearly tasteless. The salted chicken was over cooked and too salty. The otak otak was still good. So was the tofu. "

" Nice decor, short line-up, quick service and that sums it up. The chicken and the roast were nothing to wow about. There were choices between normal chicken and kampong chicken. Rice ball was gooey and I still have not caught on to the rice ball fever. Next door seems to be more popular for the chicken rice... "

" Acceptable, pricey as it is tourist spot. Bbq pork quite hard, prefer the shop at the corner as chicken rice ball smells better "

" I came here for famous "Chicken rice ball" but it's not delicious as I respect. But the other food is quite good with acceptable price, such as bbq pork, steam chicken... "

" Their cendol is really good. So much of gula melaka. Personally I like this more than jonker88 and sam shu gong. They only serve the basic cendol. "

" well oiled and prepared chicken dishes, but with underwhelming glutinous rice balls, normal rice has better texture and freshness for me. comfortable environment to eat in. "

" You like traditional for? Then this is the place for you. It have 'chicken rice ball' where you can't find it anywhere else except here. This is like a tourist attraction. "

" Heard that the chicken rice cannot make it compared to the stall opposite so I didn't want to kill myself. However I tried the chendol and..... I regretted deeply. The worse I've eaten. Seriously, do they even know how to make a simple dessert? U got to intimidate my safety in order to force me to eat again. "

" The food is nice and good. But only one thing u have to que up to eat here. And for my experience 2 days ago, the girl that take order tell that me and my friend cut the line which is that time is really our turn. Kind of dissapointed with the service. "

" Purposely create the queue when there plenty tables inside... lousy restaurant...the boss service is very lousy and lan si..dun ever go this shop go the the shops

" YUMS! Chicken rice is one of the most common meals you'll find all around Malaysia; this outlet just made it real special by turning those rice into balls! Try it if you haven't tried before. As a rice lover, I do love the texture. Scent is great as well! Just 3 stars cause it has become a little overrated due to its commercial popularity...and the price just ain't smtg locals would pay for to get a decent chicken rice on a daily basis. "

" There are different restaurants with the same name along the jonker street. We went the one which is located at opposite of a satay celup restaurant. We had the food around 6 to 7 evening. The staff is quite friendly. The food is alright. Hygiene of the shop is good. 😊😊😊 "

" Used to be better. Now extremely commercialised. Disappointed. Chicken is still good. But rice balls can be dry if you go in the arvo. Clearly mass produced "

" Delicious chicken rice balls but very poor service. I had an experience where the workers forgot to serve us our drinks. The one also after we reminded them 😤 "

" In terms of environment and location, this place is highly recommended for travelers to try out chicken rice ball that you can only find in Melaka. "

" Another well known restaurant in town featuring Hainanese chicken and rice balls. However, the chicken I ordered was quite hard and chewy, and rice balls were too dry, which were a disappointment, the satay beef and chicken tasted good though "
17 February 2017Hồng Đăng Khoa
" It is famous for its chicken rice ball. That is a very good dish. Its dessert is quite good too with many types of cendol (sweet soup of Asia). However the price is quite high and the staffs are not friendly "
07 February 2017Anynomous
" Delicious... the rice balls are a must try. There are 3 branches in Malacca. We loved it! "

" Used to be so good. Very touristy now. The chicken taste is flat. "

" Second famous chicken ball rice shop in Melaka.
24 September 2016Food wise... Is just average, steam chicken is bit hard and dry, rice ball is too mushy with no fragrance, roasted meat is too dry and hard. Braised eggs is ok, and bean sprout in soy sauce is crunchy.
Price is average for tourist area.
Service is below par, you have to walk to cashier and pay.
Cleaner and better environment compare to the most famous chicken rice shop.
For me, it is a restaurant in the famous tourist spot, with average food to fill your hunger.

" Spent around half an hour to get in the shop. But I don't think it was worth the wait as the food wasn't fantastic. You might be better off having a plate of chicken rice/rice ball somewhere else where you don't have to queue under the scorching hot sun for half an hour. "
18 September 2016Anynomous
" Food was just alright. However a nice place to sit in to shy away from the sun. Service was prompt and fast as well. "
04 September 2016Kenji Lores
" Dun know why ppl Q under the sun for juz a lousy service and unpolite chicken rice. "
02 July 2016Anynomous
" Food is not cheap... rice ball is very small. But taste is good "
22 May 2016Steve Chan
" The chicken is too tough like rubber ! The rice has not much taste ! The only good side is easy to find a seat to eat in the hot weather of malacca ! "
15 April 2016Anynomous
" There are many chicken rick featured restaurants in the city. This restaurant is fine and comfortable, but the dishes are not as good as Chung Wah and Hoe Kee "
10 February 2016Rionald Chancellor
" Weird that people disliked it. The roasted chicken and roasted pork is really good.
09 February 2016The service is okay I guess, it's not a fancy restaurant. So don't expect to be served decently. "
Anynomous
" Probably the restaurant that had the shortest queue or no queue at all. Well shd be because the food is not nice and expensive at the same time. Ordered a kampung chicken, rice ball, satay, cendor. The kampung chicken was nice, but others is really not worth it. "
